If France activates Albania on F1 can Italy use the Albanian troops to attack Trieste or Serbia on I1?

RE: Wizard of the coast is sending out additional playing pieces
Just got a response from them. I was polite but a bit greedy when it came to number of pieces requested.
Thank you for contacting us regarding your missing game pieces. Unfortunately, we are unable to place an order for the number of pieces requested, however. I have placed an order for 2 additional units of every type, for every country, as well as more chips and a new game board. You should receive it within 10 to 15 business days depending on your local postal services. We appreciate your understanding in this matter and please feel free to contact us with any other questions or comments.

RE: African Strats
I found that moving all the German units into Belgian Congo is a very effective strategy. It forces the Allies to group up and attack you which either results in their complete annihilation or leaves them so weak that the Ottomans will just storm the whole continent with minimal effort
-
RE: Game Board Frustration
I don’t understand why the cut in the boards runs from north west to south east.
It should instead run through North Africa, the Med, and Ukraine.
The Belgian roundel never matches up right……Agreed, I don’t think the board should run right through the most important and crowded front of the war.

RE: Why isn't France a Central Power?
Why don’t we just let every player form their own alliances at the beginning of the game. Hell if Britain & France and Austria & the Ottomans can be allies than why not let anybody go for it.
-
RE: Is Switzerland the stepping stone to victory?
The game wants you to attack Switzerland as Germany, only 2 units defending and you can bring that stack of 11 infantry from Munich into it and be in Burgundy the next round

RE: The CP Playbook
When I played I took out the British fleet in the North Sea on Germany’s first turn. Britain spent the next 4 rounds building a fleet big enough to match the German fleet that I had been
stacking up in Kiel by 1 Battleship per turn. Russia had some damn lucky rolls in that it wiped out the German and Austro-Hungarian armies on the 2nd and 3rd rounds respectively and also had
air superiority.

RE: How is it?
How does it compare to G40?
Not nearly as long, all the powers have a major impact on the game and you have to plan your strategies further in advance. Naval combat is actually more frequent than in G40 as naval units aren’t nearly as costly to produce and subsequentially, mines aren’t as devastating.

RE: Why is Italy an allied power?
Triggering and causing a war are two different things. Franz Ferdinand’s assassination didn’t cause the war, it triggered it. Much like how the Zimmerman note triggered the war with the US
-
RE: Air Supremacy
Air Superiority saved Russia in my game and pretty much took out Austria-Hungary as a fighting force on the Eastern Front

RE: How often are the Central Powers winning?
I feel like the Allies SHOULD win most games anyway given their geographic positions and (overall) stronger economies (in the real war Germany used the term “Shackled to a Corpse” in
describing its relationship with Austria-Hungary). The Central Powers should be more difficult to play as with victory coming primarily from early, overwhelming forces, some high risk operations
and some lucky dice rolls. Once you lose momentum with the CP as with the Axis in Global 1940, you lose the war whereas the Allies can take a beating and recover from it. I once more
matches are played and more war stories are told there will be a clearer picture as to whether the game is balance or not, but in my personal opinion it shouldn’t be a 50/50 win:lose ratio
between the Allies and CP.

RE: Axis and Allies 1914 FAQ/Question and Answer Thread
Can the Allies still attack Original Russian territory if it is held by the Central Powers and if so does the territory go back to Russia or the Allied Power that captures said territory?

British Blockade: What Happened?
Wasn’t there supposed to be a rule about the British blockade of Germany that took away IPC’s from Germany? Was this just a rumor that got spread about or was it removed from the final
product due to game balancing issues?

RE: Axis and Allies 1914 FAQ/Question and Answer Thread
@Hitlers:
So let me get this straight, If Russia captures Mesopotamia from the Ottomans but Germany and Austria activate the Revolution, Russia retains control of Mesopotamia, the Ottomans cannot
attack and retake their original territory back but the British can stack up in Mesopotamia to launch an attack on Ankara or the Syrian Desert? So the Ottomans can do nothing but sit
back and watch the British build up behind the new and improved Bolshevik Force Field Shield Generator before crossing said Force Field to wreck havok on more of Turkey’s original territories?
Or… just don’t play with Russian Revolution rules until they are changed to make sense. It IS an optional rule.
I probably will house rule my own Russian Revolution rules if I do play with it. Some of the other aspects like SZ 20 are also baffling to me. Your telling me the Allies can sail fleets of their
ships through the Straight of Dardanelles and the Straight of Bosphorus, straights mind you that are only 1.2 km and 700 m wide respectively and the latter runs **directly through the
Ottoman capital** and the only thing the Allied fleets have to worry about are mines?!?!? How can I simulate the Gallipoli Campaign when the Allies don’t even need to have control of the
Straight of Dardanelles OR Istanbul to pass through the Straight of Dardanelles and Istanbul?!?!

RE: The Flashman Report
@Quintus:
Ok im confused. Lets say we have the uk lands in portugul. This activates the country correct? Do the troops that it activates go to the uk or france? And does the territory get liberated to go to france or does the uk get the income from portugul. And are the portugul colonies go to the uk? Or france? Or do they remain uncontrolled till some power moves in.
Since it’s aligned to France, French units go on the map and France gets the income.
Really guys you are making it more complicated than it needs to be (including you Flashman).
As to the Albania issue, since it’s aligned to Italy, when the British units land Italian units are placed and Italy gets the income.
As to true neutrals, when a figure attacks it, the other side chooses a power to represent it with it’s units and will get any income from that neutral territory if/when it’s freed.
The question is whether the Belgian and Portuguese colonies, not the capital territories, go to France upon liberation or whether it goes to Britain since Britain liberated them. I’d say since
the mother countries are French clients that their colonies are as well and should go to France’s economy.

RE: What exactly are tanks good for?
They can absorb hits when you are attacking

RE: Axis and Allies 1914 FAQ/Question and Answer Thread
Another question, can Austria-Hungary or Turkey declare unrestricted submarine warfare and if so does that force a US entry as well? The rule book specifies Germany. Are Austro-Hungarian
and Ottoman subs considered so subpar that they can’t declare USW?
