    • RE: Can the Allies win if you don't send planes into Russia?

I’d say its possible but I’ve found that it really helps if they do send planes.

    • RE: Can you win in 3 turns?

I’m also inclined to dissagree with viking because for 1 what do you think Russia is doing while all this is going on?  If you are going all out on UK Russia will be able to start putting major pressure on you.  Also America can start getting into the game too.  I think this plan is plausable if you do it right but personally I think it wouldn’t work too well.  Just my 2 cents worth! :-D

    • RE: What do you do with the Americans in your "standard game?

I play with tech and NOs and I go pacific all the way with the fighter or bomber to the UK every so often.

For me it depends, I have had games go either way. I had a game that was still undecided by round 13.

    • RE: A UK IC in Egypt?

In most cases I would have to say no to an IC in Egypt beacause it is taken so fast.  I would recomend an IC in south africa instead.

    • RE: Which is better 41 or 42?

I personally like 41’ but I do enjoy doing 42’ about a 1/3 of the time just to shake things up a bit.

    • RE: USSR newbie

I guess just do what everyone else is saying and make the Germans pay for every territory. So just hold on till the US can get into the game.  Hang onto stalingarad and Lenningrad as long as possible.  Linnengrad so you can get fighters from UK and beacasue if the Germans get it they can place units there (only one but hey even a little helps).  Stalingrad beacase it is the gatway to the middle east and that could seriouly hurt the Allies money wise. Good luck!!  :-D

    • RE: What if?

I would have to say #1 beacause I’m assuming that EEB is saying that there was no Pearl Harbor and no attack on any Duch or English colonies and only an attack on Russia.  An attack on Russia would have been devestating in late 1941 early 42.  Russia would’ve been forced to divert forces away from the Germans and the Russians bearly held the line against the Germans anyway.

    • Operation Sealion on Germanys first turn?

Okay, I don’t know if anyone else has posted this but when I was playing I decided to do something totally crazy and do operation sealion on germanys first turn.  What you do is use the transport in sz5 load up an inf and tank and land them.  You send in every single aircraft within range to support it.  I’ve only done this once and Germany won with one tank left.  It really sent the Allies scrambling.  Tell me what you think.

    • RE: Italy Uses and Reasons for Being

I agree with you Jennifer,  Italy (if ignored for at least 3 turns) can turn into a monster, and before you know it Africa is gone.  Also in one game I played the US and UK ignored Italy for 5 whole turns and by the time they sent thier fleet down to stop them Italy had a monster of a fleet and sank both the US’s fleet and the UK’s fleet thus giving Germany time to take Russia.

    • RE: How does everyone feel about the new transport rules?

The new transport rule is more realistic and I like it.  Also it is nice that the ships are cheaper.

    • RE: Invasion of alaska on J1?

If the allies go KGF or KIF, invading Alaska is a great way to distract the US from Europe.

    • RE: Is there room for a defender retreat option?

I think this is a good idea.  Beacause in real war it was generally the defender that retreated.  Not the attacker.  (Most of the time)

    • POWs, why not have them?

My friends and i were playing and we got the idea.  Why not have POWs?  So here is what we came up with.

Only land units can be captured.  (artillery, inf and tanks)

Before a battle begins the attacker offers the defender a chance to surrender.  If the defender says no battle resumes.  If they say yes, the attacker takes the territory.  The defenders units are put on thier sides to show that they are now POWs.  For each unit captured the attacker must have one inf defending each POW.  POWs can be liberated if the the territory they are in is captured by thier own army or thier allies.

POWs also have the option of escaping.  The POWs mother contry pays half of that units cost (round down) then they roll a dice for inf if they get a 3 or less they go to the closest allied space.  Artilery need a 2 or less and tanks need a one.

      Well what do you think?

    • RE: Need Help w/ 1941 Germany Please!

I’ve only played A&A 50 several times and the Axis have won all the time.  Here are some suggestions.  Stop dividing your forces between the British and the Russians!  Try going all out against the Russians with everything you have.  Buy tanks galore and use Italy to take Africa and mabye take the Atlantic.  Japan should be putting the pressure on Russia too, and should also at the same time cause the US to divert resources from the European theater.  A good way to do this is invade Alaska and put an industrial complex on it.  That will get the US’s attention.  Good luck!

    • RE: Building Italian fleet - is there a point?

Yes there is a point in building an Italian fleet.  In a recent game I was playing, the US TOTALLY underestimated Italy and to make a long story really short, 1 US invasion force plus BB ships and cruisers went to the bottom.  Don’t underestimate Italy.

    • RE: Turn 2 D-day gambit, terrible idea?

This is an excellent idea,  even if Germany retakes France it would still divert valuable units from the Russian front.  Plus Germany just lost 6 ipcs (11 if you have NOs)  I can’t wait to try it!
