During the battle for Port Morsbery Japanease air raids were so frequent that soldiers would sleep in thier tiny slit trenches! Or they would dig them inside their tents so they could just roll out of thier cots into the trenches.

Biggest understatment of the war was when Emperor Hirohito’s radio broadcast to the Japanese people about the surrender. “The war has not developed nessasarily to Japans advantage”

The destroyer Johnston that was part of Taffy 3 at the battle of Layte Gulf. Beacause it fought bravely and was sunk in the face of overwhelming odds.

RE: AAE not broken–Tank Push Broken, Balance Restoredposted in Axis & Allies Europe
Okay I just wanted to clarify, the tank push is where Germany goes all out and destroys Russia as fast as possible. Dumping all resoures into Russia and ingnoring UK and US. If this is true this is the stratagy I’ve always used and I personally think its not foolproof stratagy. If the Allies play their cards right they can stop Germany in their tracks. UK sending fghters and bombers and landing little raids in Dennmark and taking Norway. With the US landing on Morocco and pushing the Germans out of Africa.

I’d say the destroyer.
Which one?
I meant all destroyers beacause they bore the brunt of the naval fighting.

I usually keep my guys in France with a token force in NWE just to help discourage them from attacking.

RE: What is the difference between AA50 and AA Revised?posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
I was 12 when I got my first A&A game (revised) I loved it! Of course thats just me. I was into statagy stuff before I bought it. I would do what DarthMaximus said and go with etheir revised or that new one coming out in August. That way if you don’t like it you haven’t blown $100.

Well just keep dumping guys there. That generally works on top of fighter support from UK.

RE: Should Germany take Brazil G1?posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
I personally ususally do that as Germany or Italy. It takes away 3 IPCs and is one of the few places where you can hurt US production.

What's the worst luck you've had in trying to take a territory?posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Just what It says. The worst luck I’ve ever had was by the time I took Berneo (I was the Axis) I had lost 36 IPCs worth of units!! (a BB a transport and 3 inf.) My enemy lost only a sub and 2 inf. :x

RE: Are Boats useless against planes?posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Well one stratagy that my friend keeps employing against me (he is usually the allies) is to (with the UK and US) build nothing but BBs for several turns with a destroyer, sub and aircraft carrier here and there. This poses a problem for me. What I usually do is hit with everything I’ve got before his fleet gets to big. It gives me a headace because the BBs are taking a hit then pounding away at me. Just my two cents worth! :-D

RE: 1942: The Eastern Frontposted in World War II History
Well Hitler kind of had the right idea about getting oil from the caucases but the whole thing was mismanaged. They could’ve won if they had done the battle of Stalingrad right though
