I love this game although I agree that snipers with thermal scopes are really annoying. I think its a huge improvement over the first and the campaign is great too.

I got my first copy 4 years ago. And have overplayed half my neighbors and most of my friends and now only have 1 who plays on a regular basis. I was 13. I LOVE AXIS AND ALLIES!!! Can’t wait to get AAPacific 1940.

RE: How the War is won.posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
The main problem Japan would face would be the British and the ANZAC pushing hard and breaking through Japans defence. Although I tried this in the first AAPacific and it worked but I didn’t invade I just kept the US out of the war for 4 turns leaving me free to take India. I didn’t invade US for one beacause of the Transport issue and the US had a huge land army to prevent such a landing. Although with the whole convoy thing this stratagy would most likely work.

RE: What country had the best trained infantry in WWII?posted in World War II History
I agree with the fact that the Germans Infantry were better trained. I mean look at what they did to Russia. 7.5 million Russian military dead.

Wouldn’t you have to resolve the sea battle first between the fighters and the Japanase fleet before the landing? Or did they change that?

RE: Most Underrated WWII Leaderposted in World War II History
Claire Lee Chennault
The guy who started the Flying Tigers and played a vital role in the war in china.
Helped bring about the destruction and/or withdrawl of the Japanase airforce in China with less than 100 planes. (in the early days) -
RE: Choose your Leaderposted in World War II History
I would choose Rommel to lead the ground forces and Chennault of the Flying Tigers to lead the Air Force.

Do you think this game is better balanced than AAPacific? Do both sides have a good chance of winning depending on how the game goes?

RE: What if?posted in World War II History
I still say that Japan attacking Russia would have been bad for the Allies beacause the forces that made up the bulk of the Russian counterattack outside of Moscow came from Siberia. They came west once Stalin realized that Japan wasn’t going to attack. The Germans might have been able to take Moscow and more if it weren’t for those troops from Siberia. Plus Japan had been preparing for an invasion of Russia for years they would have know what they were doing. They would have at least tied down Russian forces that were desperatly needed at the eastern front. And even if the British lost the Battle of Britan, Germany didn’t have the resources to invade.

RE: Would the Allies lost if the USSR joined the Axisposted in World War II History
About the poll, the U.S. would have entered the war regardless of whether or not Pearl Habor happend. It would have taken longer though.

RE: Star Wars Quirksposted in General Discussion
@ABWorsham:
George Lucus’s demand for comic relief in the Star Wars series always bothered me. His use of the droid army for laughs always got on my nerves. I want to see droids that are emotionless and ruthless.
Whats wrong with a little comic relief?
Yeah, honestly a droid army should be quite difficult to defeat. You’d actually HAVE to program them to act like idiots. If done correctly, they’d be more like a hive mind that could respond to everything you throw at them.
I disagree that they would be super difficult to defeat beacause they wouldn’t be able to react as fast as humans or other beings. I mean sure is would be difficult. Their numbers alone would cause problems. But no computer would be able to compare to a humans will to survive and inginuity.
