    • RE: WIP New AA Map

I agree with you hewhoisnickel, I experimented with circular cities last night, and a good idea at first, but it really is just awkward and crowded with them. I was definently planning on adding natural impassible geographical features, thank you for mentioning them.

I will post an updated picture of my new fixed borders/territories probably in the next day or two. Thanks for the feedback guys  :-)

    • RE: Alternate Country Combos

I think it would be interesting if you had any ideas on different country combos, even different time periods, perhaps a House Rule ‘Cold War’ game or something in that nature, but I do agree with Keredrex, the game was definently designed to have 5 players and has been well set up for balance.

    • RE: WIP New AA Map

I have seen other maps that I would like to incorporate their features in aswell, I was thinking of adding “circle” shaped territories for major cities, such as Berlin, London, DC, etc…

Who that sounds like a good addition, or just keep it simple? Let me know what you guys think.

    • WIP New AA Map

I have continued working on AA maps, and I would like peoples opinion on how my map is coming along so far, if the territories are ok and what not, this is just the borders I have drawn. Personally I feel the U.S. needs to be fixed, aswell as E. Russia and probably Australia.

What did you use to outline the territories, like a sharpie, paint pen, or something else?

I use Testors myself, I was just curious which one he used for those pieces.

I have a few concerns about Skytrex though. For one the don’t have pictured catalogs so I’m kind of concerned what I’m purchasing, it seems every manufacturer creates their own spin on every tank so it’s name could be something other that what I have in mine. Another concern is I am unsure whether it’s cheaper, the price says 2 pounds, is that more or less than $2, I know the Euro is more and I thought England dropped the whole pound thing.

Has anyone purchased a Skytrex micro armor recently and would like to please ease my mind a bit.

I’ve never seen that box before, is the box custom?

As far as micro armor goes, which company makes the best, ratio wise factoring: cost/quality/durability

As for right now I’m weighing three different companies, GHQ/Skytrex/CinC

By my observation, GHQ is the most detailed, but not the most durable, but is also the most expensive. CinC has good detail, and offer at a resonable price; however with lower prices am I exchanging that for quality and longevity? Skytrex sells them by ones, of course you could order multiple, but once again they are expensive reading 2 pounds per single vehicle, and with no picture I can’t tell whether the detail and quality is there.

I have ruled that the most bang for my buck definently goes to CinC. Would any agree or disagree to that?

    • RE: What to do when london is invaded

I agree with Dylan, the Germans have far to much to worry about if Russia is doing its job, and they won’t have the reqcuired IPC’s to combat Britain yet alone invade the isle any time soon.

That’s really well  done, how did you construct it?

    • RE: Scales??

I’ve been looking at the 1 72 infantry, they’re fairly resonable in comparison to the micro armor, atleast for around $10 you can get usually 50ish soldiers, the armor is like $10 plus $6 shipping. that’s just obsurd.

I think it all depends if you still want to use the British as a fighting force.

Yeah it’s a bit crude, and not really original but it was the first map I’ve made for AA, I’m hoping I’ll get better as I get more practice. :-)

Here is a map I made for Axis and Allies, it’s nothing spectacular but it is an honest amateur’s attempt.

Thank you very much for the info, I have been checking out some different ones, however I can’t believe how expensive they are, for such little pieces of metal/plastic!!

    • Scales??

I am currently building custom Axis and Allies militaries, such as Panzer Division, Afrika Korps, etc…the painting is moving along smoothly, my only problem is I would like more variety in my armies other than the original Axis And Allies game pieces. I already know about 1 72 scale model soldiers, however I was wondering how about armor, other vehicles, airplanes, and that sort of thing. My questions are…

      1. What scale sizes are the Axis and Allies tanks and planes
      2. Do and model or toy companies make different styled tanks and planes on the same scale
      3. What are the companies names and where can I acquire them
