    • RE: Does J1 Attack "Break" the games?

The game is clearly not balanced no matter what round the Japan attack. The only win we have had as allies, was when Japan waited til turn 3 and also suffered from bad dice, UK got rich and he was never able to break India.

The balancing issue could be easily adjusted in my opinion. What were the gamedesigners thinking of giving Japan that air-armada? Japan is able to overwhelm every UK/China attempt to make a stand with some ground troops and 10+ planes and Japan has plenty more for eqiupping new carriers and safeguarding Japanese homeland.

I think that removing 5-6 planes from Japan could make the game a lot more balanced.

    • Saving UK Battleship, rule clarification

If Japan don’t attack in the frist round, I think of moving the uk battleship to Queensland in uk1, and also station the ANZAC sub, dd and US dd from Phillippines there. This should greatly enhance your possibilities to save the most valuable asset in the british fleet.

But how does a Japanese attack on a seazone containing both uk, anzac and us units work? Can they choose to say just attack the battleship, the attack will of course bring them to war with us and anzac too, but can they choose to only target the british battleship in this attack since all the units are in a neutral state as the attack happens?

      One more thing:

Will a british warship block the move of a japanese assualt on an island when the japanese must move through the seazone containing the british ship (japanese two sea zones away from the island, british warship one sea zone away), or will the state of war first commence when the japanese actually land on the island?

    • RE: Let Japan destroy US Fleet at Pearl, good strategy?

Sorry, I was a bit unclear. I meant you as the US-player should try to lure your opponent into making a big attack against Pearl in J2. Tempt him with most of the US fleet.

    • Let Japan destroy US Fleet at Pearl, good strategy?

Let’s say that US move all or at least most of the US fleet to Pearl first turn. This would indeed provide a temtping target for the Japanese fleet. They will have the capacity to destroy it but will have to commit most of their fleet to achieve a comfortable victory (US-player will of course station all fighters and tac-bombers at Hawai so they can scramble and support the fleet).

What will the allies achieve by this?

Of course it will be a tactical victory for Japan, but the allies will also have some strategic benefits.

A large part of the Japanese fleet will be drawn away from the important DEI-area and take away a lot of pressure on the british forces.

It will draw US into the war, maybe earlier then the Japanese player originally did plan

Although the US fleet is beaten the Japanese would take a dent too.
