While waiting for a source of high quality pieces, here is my solution.  It takes care of the color, and number of pieces (except for Italy).

I combined my AAEurope, AAPacific with my AA50 pieces.  I gave the Soviet Inf from the AAPacific to Italy and added the USA molded Chinese Inf of AAPacific to the Chinese Inf.

At first I only wanted to painted the Italian, Soviet, Chinese, and Japanese pieces.  I got some spray paint for plastic and went to work.  After I was done with these I didn’t like the two tone German, British and American pieces and decided to paint those also.  Here is the result:

I am very pleased with the result.  I am still very interested in replacement of high quality.

The custom markers arrived today and I’m really happy with them  They are the same size as the original cardboard ones but have a thickness of about 2.5 mm.  Hoorah!..…I can now pick them up.  I have posted a pick, of questionable quality, of them below along with the originals.

For those of you who want a swastika for the Germans, it will NEVER happen.

Two reasons:

1. In Germany, it is illegal for any company to print a swastika on any product or advertisement.  They’re very serious about suppressessing anything related to the Nazi party to keep history from repeating itself.  Therefore, WotC would have to publish two versions of the game in order to sell anything in Germany (possibly all of Europe with the EU adopting

It would be a PR disaster.  Some groups would protest and boycott the game, many more people would just be offended and not buy it.  Being a World War II game, the publisher is already skirting the line between historical accuracy and glorification of a war, a country, and its practices.  There is little value gained and much lost by blurring that line more than necessary.

The roundels must match the games components.

The dice should be the same colors, but ANZAC are problematic, so i suggest a new color for them ( white?)

French should be a light blue

How do you stop the German onslaught and the powerful Japan in the 1941 scenario?
I can never get the help to Russia and I cannot stop Japan coming from the East?

I am interested in the game. I am painting up all the Axis minor countries as well as expanding the canadian, Australian etc .
I have not played that version yet but have the map and rules printed.

the wehrmacht and the ss pretty much shared the same style uniforms, accept that the ss utilised camo patterns during the last few years of the war. the ‘black’ ss you’re thinking of were the allgemeine ss, but they weren’t combat units  :wink:

Grey is the better choice for the color to represent the Germans.
Since 90% of the Army was Wermacht (Greyish green uniforms) and 10% was SS, but……
the SS thate wore the Black Uniform was even less.

yes, I have a set of the dice from FMG, they are nice and a good choice of colors.

You realize like our Politicians, if you make the game friendly to the color blind, deaf, hard to see, people with ADD, etc… the game will cost $500.00; similar to our out of control deficit. I think they do a pretty good game and yes the colors could of been chosen better.
