@Imperious:
numbers should be in white or black with outline in some color that fits the rest of the background.
Agreed!

Anyone Know the email address that I can Use to Get These Tac Bombers/Battlestrip
Received 6 tac bombers in good condition, battle board was folded in half.
Sound good IL, I hope you can work out the detailss of the map, you always do good work.
I believe the hull was actually started on the first two Montana clas BB’s.
@Imperious:
Hey thats nice. I am not fond of the black oceans, but it is good work.
I have to agree, oceans too Dark and the ribbons with values are too long.
But very nice work!
Looks great, I am waiting for your Deluxe map!
I was wondering if anybody was in the works of creating a map of AAP40 so that we can download it and print it out larger and or modify it to our liking.
very nice paint job!
I would use the Kongo class BB for the Japanese, it is smaller and they only had two Yamato class BB’s.
The Shinano is also a Yamato class hull, only had one and it was sunk before it saw comabat, use the Akagi or Shokaku class IMHO.
Have you printed one out and look at it as readability?
They look nice but sometimes with that fancy lettering it gets hard to read.
Just asking.
I believe the Iowa class BB width was limited by the Panama Canal, you can see the difference on how narrow it is compared to the Yamato. The Montana class BB added a fourth turret but was equally as narrow, again to accomodate the canal. Even though the Yamato had a 18.1" dia. shell compared to the 16" of the Iowa class, the 16" shell had a farther range. I agree, the Yamato class BB was a pretty ship!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_class_battleship (Iowa class- 108ft beam)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montana_class_battleship (Montana - 121 ft beam)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato_class_battleship (Yamato - 127 ft. beam)
I just read where the locks are only 110 ft wide, so the Montana class would not fit!
Does anybody have an Axis & Allies map that is customized for a 1939 scenario that can be downloaded?
I have seen one that was just Europe, are there any others?
Thanks!
@Imperious:
I like this better:
its just as accurate than some air force roundel that nobody ever considered to designate control over a war planning map that the army used. IN fact Vodka was probably alot closer to the map than any air force roundel that you only find on the fuselage of planes and thats it.
I know you make fun of my search for the correct Roundel for MY game, but that is the neat thing about house rules. We can customize the game for our likes and preferences. Roundels are a small part of the game and I understand that. I am painting all my figures to be semi-historically accurate in color but where they contrast enough so that the powers on the board can be seen easily on the map.
I appreciate all the variations and choose the ones that fit my needs and use them. IL, you might not like my roundel envy but others might and like them, they are free to take what they want as I have downloaded other peoples maps, rules, battle boards, etc and appreciate all the hard work and efforts everyone put into it.
Your maps and rules are wonderful and have used them. I never knock your ideas and efforts, I might of done some things differently, but appreciate YOUR interpretation and hard work that you put into all your projects.
Thanks again.
Does anybody know where to find some sub pens and block houses with pictures that could be used for Axis & Allies?
IL’s map, it is very nice.
I have a 48" X 96" printed and played under plexiglass!
I hope he does more maps!
Here’s a preview of what the finished product will probably look like. Sorry for the slow progress guys. I’ve been working alot of hours and havent been able to put in the time necessary to complete these charts yet. But it will get done (probably this weekend)
Very Nice,
Thanks for your work!
