    • RE: Issues with Field Marshal Games?

      @ChromiumAgeCollector:

      I personally have never had an issue with FMG, and I have order like 5 times from them.  However, I will probably not order from them anymore…

      The main thing I want from them are the combat dice, but HBG never seems to have the ones I need in stock.

      I cannot stock items when FMG does not return my emails or phone calls. Sorry.

      If/When you run the Germany 3 set in other Axis Minor colors, will the Lutzow Class Pocket Battleships be available?

      Sure

      Coach, Will any more of the 1st German expansion set pieces be produced? Any chance of adding the Axis minor colors to this set?

      Not too long but adding the other colors are very expensive. let me get the first two colors then we will rerun the mold for the others.

      @Yavid:

      I for one would like to see French set next, to me it’s an aspa. Then Russian there’s tons of good options there. not really sure of a 3rd set after that. I can list enough Russian pieces that it would take 2 sets to do them all. Facilities i can’t wait for too.

      Speaking of which… Coach is there any kind of time line in place for the French set?

      German Set 3 is in final stage,

      @AlphaKappa:

      Have any of you gotten these yet?  Can you review the quality of Amerika’s sculpts?  Judging by the pictures that I’ve seen, to me they look softer and more flexible than HBG’s usual stuff.  Are they made out of a vinyl type of material?

      @C_Strabala:

      This is HBG’s best set yet! The detail is incredible & the actual units selected are excellent!

      The only thing I would like to see is an Iowa class Battleship get the detailed treatment that HBG did for the South Dakota & Yamato

      Oh no… can you elaborate abit on this?? the yamato mould was fantastic in terms of the detail.  I assumed the iowa class would get the same??

      We try to make pieces that have not been made to achieve a greater variety unless HBG feels the need to make more of a pieces that is in high demand, Hellcat, Trucks, etc. We do plan on doing the Iowa Class in a set down the road but more than likely you will see the Montana first.

      Doug,

      Have you and the guys ever thought of using Youtube and other forums to advertise some of your already existing product? Many of your battle markers and tokens would be gobbled up by Flames of War and Bolt Action players. I think a demo of HBG minis being used for Memoir '44 battles would also be a boon to your sales. Lastly there are players who play other games that may become interested in Global War when they see what they might be missing out on.

      I listen to several podcasts in different genres of war gaming. They frequently point their listeners to small companies that make accessories or custom minis simply because they love the product. Often, (like HBG) the smaller companies they advertise or mention make a less expensive and superior product to the OOB pieces and accessories.

      I would love to find someone who would do this for us and work out pay in trade or work out something where we do not spend too much money. We are doing some videos for 1936 and plan on doing more but I agree we need to do a better job showing our product. If you know someone interested in doing this have them PM me.
      Thanks

      I have just received my US units I have attached some photos.  I was just wondering if what the fifth air unit is?  It looks like an F6F Hellcat fighter.  But there is nothing on the website about it.

      Nice!  They look pretty good.  How’s the color compared to the OOB stuff?

      HBG Olive Drab color is very close to Global 40 2nd Edition IMHO.

      If you are talking about the one next to the Liberator in your pic, it is an F6F… I think it was a late addition to the set. maybe that is why they left it out on the website.

      F6F hellcat was Pre-Order only for free.
      It will be for sale once all pre-orders are filled.

      @wittmann:

      Thanks. I have ordered twice from there over the last 18 months, but another Englishman said he was taking time  off for a while. I hope that time has passed!
      Will try and find his email address again.

      Germay site is still open, Delaja has had several medical issues with his wife and new child with near death issues. I am very prayerful for him and his family but it does seem that they are climbing out of the health issues. Right now, only the US site has the 1936 map, he will soon have the US sets after we fill all the Pre-orders.

      Hey Coach. If you don’t mind answering, can you say about where the pre-orders are at as far as how many have been shipped? I think I’m not sure how many people ordered before I ordered mine but I’m salivating to get my hands on them. Anyways the models look great and I’m green with envy for you guys that have yours.

      PS. Thanks Doug to you and the HBG crew and all your hard work!

      We are well over halfway, probably be finished in 2 weeks or less.

      I got mine last Thursday, loved every single piece, but the B-24( its small, skinny wings and body) would have liked it a little bigger, seems tiny next to the British sterling, know it was a little shorter but not to that extend. Also the P-47s wings had to be a bit wider. Nave units look great, amazing detail on the BB, im glad the heavy tank is that size.

      The B-24 did have skinny wings though.

    • RE: GLOBAL WAR 1936 FAQ

      @WILD:

      @Gargantua:

      Ok Doug I will,

      But that website has some serious issues. I know a Ukranina guy who is a wordpress expert, can I send him to you to help fix it?

      #1. When I reply to your answers, which are sometimes still very unclear, it doesn’t que the question to the top of the pile and show that it’s updated; so I have to dig through 11 pages of muck to find what I am looking for unless I memorized it.

      #2.  The formatting of the site blocks half of my message visually, which means you can’t even read what I’m asking  -> when I reply to your post.

      Garg until they fix the problem with the aviator covering up reply’s (which is very annoying) you could try  scrolling to the bottom where it says “Answer this Question”. Doug will generally continue the conversation.

      Actually Will answers the questions but thank you for caring to make this a great game.

      @Warwick:

      How does combat against a zone contain 2 different Alliances play out? The rules state to defend jointly units must be in the same alliance and aligned, for Major powers this means in the same alliance and at war with the same Major power. Lets say Germany is at war with UK and Soviets. The Soviet navy has slinked out of the Baltic while Denmark was neutral and occupy the same space as the UK navy. A German fleet engages these forces supported by land based aircraft. How is the resulting combat resolved?

      1. Germans pick one navy to fight. Other nation forces must retreat.
      2. The 2 force combine (UK and Soviet) since both are at war with Germany. (This seems highly unlikely.)
      3. The Germans select one force and conduct combat against it. If any German force remains following conclusion of the first fight they may then engage the remaining fleet or retreat at the German player option.
      3.5 The Defenders, by agreement, select one force and the Germans conduct combat against it. If any German force remains following conclusion of the first fight they may then engage the remaining fleet or retreat at the German player option.
      4. Other method that I have not thought if.

      If this is resolved by the rules I am sorry for asking an obvious question.

      Thank you

      We are asking to have the question on globalwargame dot com so that we can keep them all together. People are asking question on website/facebook/text/AAA.org/HBG, we cannot keep up with all the sources. We appreciate it very much and will get them answered.

      @HBGWILL:

      The Soviets cannot rail their factory until they are at war with a Major Power.  It can only rail minor factories.
      I did check the rules and yes, they are not clear, so official clarification here - it has to be at war with a major power

      Will you be updating the rules as official clarifications for uncertainties come to light? It is very easy with the digital format.

      A problem with A&A G40 has always been you had to search for answers in the 100+ page FAQ, as the rules were printed…
      It would be nice to have a definitive ruleset.

      We will be updating the rules instead of an Errata as we see the need.
