@aldrahill Actually, I downloaded their map and printed out some sheets zoomed in on certain regions for help in planning moves. I was just working on coordinating my first two moves for Japan, and find it easier to plan on a map of the region than to simply write out the moves. I didn’t need a super high quality version of the map, but it’s helpful to see terrain and borders clearly.

@insanehoshi Yea i memorized 85 useless different unit types, but i was talking about new players, and also seeing the values helps calculate combat more quickly. With counters i can easily add in the 15 bonus unit types that are also useless.

So answers:
He used the Dutch and Canadians for extras for the UK and USSR I believe. I am surprised with the amount of tech, but it is very possible if you put some money into factories and got good rolls.

@hbg-gw-enthusiast We limit total tech to 4. One can research 2 free at a time. Can pay 3 IPCs per roll to research other 2 faster or simultaneously.

I’ve given up waiting for the ‘Base Set 2’ as suspect will be ‘vapourware’ - this thread highlights why - there is no point HBG printing off a unit in 10 different colours, if certain sculpts are rarely if ever going to be bought by a certain nationality (and hence bought from HBG), and that will apply for a lot of the advanced tech stuff.

Therefore bought the 3d printed versions of the Base Set 2 items I needed, so Maltas for heavy carriers etc.

My approach has been to paint up at least 1 of each advanced unit, for each major power, and then more where I think countries need them/are likely to use them in game.

So Russa can build 1 attack transport and heavy carrier before I’m stuffed, but America has 3 sculpts of each of these units (for example)

@hbg-gw-enthusiast I bought some of these and they don’t represent the Type VII. I recommend XP Forge. I know the owner and he has the best 3D printed ships out there. I have used most of his sculpts to outfit my entire navy of all my nations.
