      Fortress, if you’re wondering, this is all sarcasm, I’ve never beaten him either. If you want an easier opponent I’m available!

      So I screwed up when trying to post my Japan move - I hit Done, instead of Post.

      I re-ran the turn then edited it to my original losses:

      • I won the battle in Hunan outright both times, so no change

      • China hit 4/4 in Yunnan the first time and 1/4 the second time, so I removed all the infantry and a tac bomber in Kwangsi (these are the units I originally removed).

      • I also edited a destroyer back to Japan, that I accidentally moved down to 36

      Sorry about this, I’m still relatively new to this. If you are not happy about the destroyer edit, please move it back.

      Also, feel free to look at your e-mails for the original dice rolls and confirm all of this.

      I think the objective is to test the idea that some have been promoting, that the addition of a Russian bomber balances the game and obviates the need for a bid.  People playing in the 3rd round of a tournament like this will all be solid players and it gives a good venue to objectively test out the idea.

      i understand the idea and think it is a good one, but should be a suggestion and not mandated.

      when people signed up for the tournament this is not something they have been expecting to change 6 months into a tournament.

      I’ve got to agree with my partner on this one. I think mandating changes 3 rounds in throws too big of a twist into a tournament - especially when we have already been playing for months.

      I think testing the Russian bomber is a great idea and I would love to try it out with anyone outside of the tournament. If people think this makes the game more balanced then it will naturally filter into later round bids. We have had the ability to play allies +12 all along and will continue to be able to do this without making it mandatory.

      Also, while it has been 2-1 axis wins in the early rounds, I still think this will balance out in later rounds with more experienced players. Garg I think your tournament is an excellent place to test the idea that experience and teamwork will win the day for the allies and I fear that mandating a huge change won’t let us see if this is true or not.

      i think the axis have the advantage but it is a fairly balanced game. the bids will probably be less than revised which was perfectly even with a 9ipc bid to axis. the allied strategies are always more difficult and need more experience, the more everyone plays the bids will get lower.

      Agreed. The allies are more challenging in this setup because they need more coordination between different players to be effective. This also makes it easier for experienced players to be really aggressive with the axis. I still think the game is balanced and think we will see a lot more allied wins in the later rounds of the tournament.
