I’d be interested in taking a look at your revisions.

RE: Updated South Texas Global '40 House rulesposted in House Rules
Some very interesting ideas and a new twist. Thanks for posting all your work.
I read you first post on these house rules awhile back and kind of borrowed your idea with a few changes. Hope you don’t mind.
1. Kept the technology rule/charts that you can buy for 5 ipc at the beginning of your turn.
2. Roll for events before German turn on odd numbered rounds.
3. Roll for espionage & technology before German turn on even numbered rounds.Your “Events” are almost word for word on what you posted.
The change is combining espionage with technology. Basically, used most of the espionage and sprinkled in some technology that would have been deployed by certain nations. Germany has a chance for the V rockets, USA for long range aircraft or the A bomb, etc. And also nations like USA & Germany have a slightly better chance for technology by adding a couple extra because they were the nations behind most of the tech in WWII.
The reason for the “every other turn” change is that in 10 rounds of gameplay you would have only 5 chances (slim chances) at gaining a free Tech. Ten chances seemed like too many.
Also, really like that you added the element of every dice outcome has the opportunity for nothing to happen, good or bad things can happen!
We have used this house rule in one full game, made some adjustments and will try it on the next game.
Thanks again for the creativity! That’s one of the reasons why I like Global 1940 so much is its versatility. You can be creative on some rules or units and the game still plays very well.

RE: New Facility - Bunkersposted in House Rules
Like this idea from YG, “Negates all combined arms abilities from attackers”.
May have to consider adding that.

RE: New Facility - Bunkersposted in House Rules
The last couple games I’ve played we have used this type of facility/bunker only with three levels. Only 1 level may be built per turn & only 1 per territory. Each round of combat reduces the facility/bunker by one level. Use a chip under bunker for levels.
Level 1 = 4 IPCs
Level 2 = 5 IPCs
Level 3 (max) = 5 IPCsLevel 1 defends with 1 die @ 2 to hit, 1 AAA gun roll (up to 3 dice if planes attack) @ 1 to hit & 1 die @ 1 to hit naval units if amphibious assault takes place. No bonus to Infantry or Artillery.
Level 2 defends with 2 dice @ 2 to hit, 2 AAA gun roll (up to 6 dice if planes attack) @ 1 to hit & 2 dice @ 1 to hit naval units if amphibious assault takes place. Bonus to 4 units of Infantry or Artillery of +1 to defense.
Level 3 defends with 3 dice @ 2 to hit, 3 AAA gun roll (up to 9 dice if planes attack) @ 1 to hit & 3 dice @ 1 to hit naval units if amphibious assault takes place. Bonus to 7 units of Infantry or Artillery of +1 to defense.
Too much?

Great job on creating the card deck!! Absolutely love the artwork you chose for the breakthrough & optional rules cards. Thanks for your time and effort on this project; as well as the others you do for this game.

RE: Looking for Players in Kansas Cityposted in Player Locator
New to this forum and just discovered 1940 Global a couple months ago. Not new to AA, been playing the original version since it came out. Live just south of Blue Springs about 15-20 minutes from KC.
Can travel or host. Will play any version. I have global, which has been setup & played since purchased. It’s not quite the Cliffside Bunker, but its become a permanent feature in our game room.
1942 version looks interesting as I’m finding out there are tournaments for that and Global.

RE: My 1st Top 10 listposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I’m not new to AA, been playing it since it was created in the 80’s. However, I just discovered 1940 Global last November.
Here is one rule we messed up from reading the rules and jumping right into the game. In our haste to play the game we read about scrambling planes from airbases and paratroopers being able to move three spaces from the airbase to attack and pretty much decided that planes could also scramble up to three spaces! We have played about 5 games and air bases all over have 1-3 fighters scrambling all over the place (at least we got the 3 plane limit correct).
Fortunately I was watching the Anzac video YG put out and he mentioned the airbase just north of Sydney could not protect that sea zone. WHAT? After consulting the rulebook, Yep, that’s correct. So our next game this weekend there will be a new rule!
Thanks for bringing that rule to my attention.
