      At first I really wasn’t all that sure of this site…it seemed kind of cultish, but after hours and hours of intense brainwashing it really didn’t seem all that bad.

      @TexCapPrezJimmy:

      @Mino1124:

      I didn’t mean you were upset with krieg but you seemed to be upset with others because they told how they interpretted.

      Don’t worry about him, he’s just ticked off that he’s been outfoxed on his premature Calcutta invasion and is hoping to get out of it with some rule minutia. Maybe once Kreighund confirms what we all know he’ll resort to the tried-and-true technique of sticking his fingers in his ears and yelling “La La La La La La.”

      Ruh roh…outfoxer or outfoxie?

      @kcdzim:

      @Gwlachmai:

      Or we could wait to see what Krieg says…

      I’m pretty sure Krieg HAS answered this a few weeks ago, but I don’t have the energy to go searching through it from a random thread.  I’m 99% sure that he confirmed that the US ship WILL block, as declaring war unprovoked on the UK/Anzac is a declaration of war on the US as well, which isn’t stated like that specifically in the FAQ, but should be.

      It may have been addressed before, I’ve only read the last couple weeks worth of posts here. I am a bit curious though as to what the official ruling is. I tend to agree that the ship would block, but, I haven’t seen this question addressed before, so I can understand why Jim would want an official ruling.

      There is map for it. I had a heck of a time finding it. Try a search in this forum for battlemap. I’m too lazy to find a link…apologies.

    • RE: Anybody making large map for Pacific 1940?

      @Imperious:

      Then hire Midgets to move the pieces for you. You just sit in your chair and tell them what to do. Problem solved.

      If only…then when I make a bad move I can blame it on the midget and berate him savagely for his incompentence. It would be like I actually was der Fuhrer!

    • RE: Mech infantry-heavy Japan?

      They can move two spaces at any time (noncombat). They can only blitz thru enemy territory if accompanied by a tank.

    • RE: New US strat thats tough to beat

      There is nothing in the OP to suggest incorrect play. He says by round four there are 8 bombers in Queensland. He does not say what round Japan declares war. Both of these are entirely possible within the rules of the game. It’s only one round to fly from Western US to Queensland. It doesn’t take poor Japanese play for the allies to win.

      @cannon:

      Complain about the still incorrect battlestrip… as it doesn’t show the tactical bomber/tank or fighter combo as hitting at 4 or less?  Not sure if I’m the only one who noticed it?

      Yes!

      Right, but, why continue once I have 14 cities…I’ve won, after that we’re just arguing about degrees.

      They can’t really claim anything could happen, at the very least there would be a minor victory for one side. My question is why would you play it out any further then, that unless there was a set number of turns as well.

      Why wouldn’t the game just stop at 14? At the very least you’d think the allies would realize their position is deteriorating and just concede.

    • RE: Combined game

      I’m curious as to whether we’ll se as many J1 attacks in a combined game. Especially if it puts the US in the war immediately with a resource level of 80-100 vs maybe 30-35 (both being estimates).

    • RE: New US strat thats tough to beat

      I think a large bomber commitment will make it much more dangerous for Japan to split their navy up, but with scrambling, cheap destroyers and Carriers and Battleships soaking two hits a large naval group should be able to wipe out an opposing bomber force in a turn. It is somewhat of a trade off as well, almost half of US production going to bombers means less transports, and navy.
