Thanks all for the advice, I ended up starting again from scratch. Anyone whose played Twilight Imperium would be familiar with the race sheets with all the documentation right there. I will post some updates hopefully soon.

I’ve been designing some reference sheets for helping new players along, similar to the race sheets from Twilight Imperium. Looking for some feedback, just not sitting right with me and can’t put my finger on what exactly to change at this time without starting from scratch. I have a game next week with some new players and looking to have these done by then. This is just the US sheet, I’ve done one for each nation obviously.

What size are you working with for this map? I’m thinking of building a gaming table with A&A being printed on, being as it’d be the largest map.

Loving the style you have, really fits A&A well. Any word on getting backings designed?

What’s wrong with Larry’s 1942 setup? My group tried it last weekend and had fun.

My group tried the G42 setup this past weekend and all agreed it was more fun that G40. The slow buildup before all out war never was fun for us. The German player had difficulty pushing back against the Soviets while holding off the UK, I played Japan and had a strong hold of the Pacific board. The US built a factory in Alaska and ferried troops into Asia with ease while bombing Tokyo, this was hard to keep in check while taking the rest of Pacific board. This game ended up being called after 6 hours and an Allie victory.

A 7-10 hour play time sounds a lot more suitable for my group. I’m anxious to give it G42 a try.

How long is the average G42 game? My groups biggest issue with G40 is how long the game is, everyone gets very antsy at around 10 hrs. Looks like 3-4 hours would easily be cut off with G42.

Wow, a lot of good posts. Didn’t expect such detail. Yeah, it’ll be hard to design strata that span multiple turns. I was thinking take each nation at a time and not strat too much or have a set strat, but then buys would be hard to place.

I’m curious what people’s thoughts are on the matter. Wife is going outa town, which is usually a good chance to get a game in but all play other players are busy so I’m considering just setting up and going at it solo. Has anyone here attempted doing a solo game? I feel it could be a good chance to learn more strats…

Will do. My printer has been driving me nuts all day today. Its a high quality but printing double sided from two different pdf been a pain.

Lot of good ideas. Going to have to just slow things down a little bit next time for verification.

yeah I guess next time I see that happening I’ll ask the India/ANZAC and US player to pump subs out. ANZAC usually does NOTHING in our games.

Yeah, I’m in agreement I’d rather lose fair than cheat. So this leaves with a hard decision. Not inviting said individual would cut group in half down to 2. His brother also plays so if I say no to one the other wouldn’t come. Gotta figure out a way to ensure no cheating.

Thanks all for opinions on the matter. I honestly hate cheaters. We have one in our group who has been caught over the years playing risk. Now that we’ve switched to A&A, loving the game so much more, there is more room for cheating and the last two game sessions I feel have been ruined by it.

Yeah, to be sure I guess next game I’ll have the “banker” double check all purchases.
I definitely do think having all of china, mongolia and east russia conquered AND building such a navy by turn 4 is a little extreme.

Thanks… Lol. Guess I’m untrustworthy. Caught the guys number of times cheating and I’m ultra suspicious now. Guess I need to learn me some Pacific strategy.
