      1483 Online Enters Beta Testing,

DAVISON, MI (May 12, 2006) - The Guild of Blades Publishing Group, a market leading board game
publisher with its well known Empires of History series of historical board games and other fantasy and role playing games, announces the launch of the 1483 Online beta test. Found at http://www.1483online.com , 1483 Online is a massive multiplayer online (MMO) turn based strategy
game of diplomacy and conquest. The 1483 Online beta test is an open beta test, so all gamers
around the world are welcome to sign up and play.

In 1483 Online 28 players assume control of one of the leading kingdoms or empires of Europe,
North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, set against the historical backdrop of the year 1483 AD. Players must lead their nation’s military to defend their lands and seek to expand the realm, using a combination of war, diplomacy and economic development. 1483 Online is a new style of game focussing on turn based play with rapid games progressing at just one turn per day and standard free games at just one turn per week. This new form of turn based, MMO gaming allows all players an equal footing on game play time dedicated to a single game and lets the players communicate via the internal communication mail system, freely and equally with other players to conduct diplomatic relations. The game rewards alliance building and shrewd diplomacy coupled with a solid strategic use of military units and resources rather than simply rewarding players with more time to dedicate to a game, or skill with a mouse.

1483 Online is an online computer game adaptation of the GUild of Blades’ popular board game, Europe 1483. First run online in late 1999 as a human moderated “Play By E-mail Game”, 1483 Online quickly gathered a small and dedicated fan base of several thousand players. Now with the fully automated computer game and online gaming experience, the Guild of BLades expects the highly anticipated 1483 Online game to explode onto the MMO gaming scene. They currently have plans to expand this new style of MMO gaming to include other Empires of History board games converted for online play, plus will expand 1483 Online game maps to go from its current 28 player base up to a full world adaptation of the board game series, allowing for 84 players per game.

The Guild of Blades presently plans to maintain a completely free downloading of the 1483 Online software and allow all players to have access to free game play accounts that will allow players continual access to a small number of ongoing games. The venture will be supported by Enhanced
Memberships offering more game play opportunities and advanced features, display advertising, and
the sales of products published by the Guild of Blades Publishing Group. This mix of play options will allow players from all over the world to play with no need of credit cards, checks or other payment options, and allow those players wanting more to buy affordable packages start at just $9.95 annually.

ABOUT THE GUILD OF BLADES PUBLISHING GROUP:

Founded in 1996, the Guild of Blades Publishing Group began as a small game publishing firm producing inexpensive miniatures and role playing game systems. In 1999 the company expanded into
board games, which quickly became the mainstay of its production lines and allowed for the rapid
expansion of the company. Since that time the Guild of Blades Publishing Group has acquired a couple other small publishers and now operates its own production facilities in Davison, MI, in addition to launching its new interactive division to publish 1483 Online and other turn based MMO games. • RE: Axis & Allies Spain / China

      Gah. Which one?

We have four. All but one have been fixed at least one. Two of them are down on the moment with a scheduled repair on them within the next week. But then, they have only been down a week or so, so I’m guessing you meant from a previous time?

Well, we haven’t released a Sino-Japanese A&A variant yet, but the Empires of History variant “The Spanish Civil War” was the second variant we ever published and has been our second best seller as well.
A new Fourth (color) Edition is now in the works and due for release this summer.

You can check out the Spanish Civil War and other Empires of History Axis & Allies variants at:

    • RE: War to End All Wars 3rd Edition (WWI)

      Hi,

Empires of History: WWII will also be releasing in March of 2006. It too will be using our new style of game counters and has about 1,200 full color oversized chit counters.

The game will come with laminated maps. Two of them actually. One for Europe and one for the Pacific. Each map is approximately 21" x 33". The maps include the primary areas of battle in both Europe (Meaning Europe, Russia, North Africa, Middle East) and the Pacific (China, India, Japan, Australia and the pacific out to about Midway). The rest of Africa and both North and South America are represented by a nmber of off map zone boxes along the edges of the maps. But we have plans to release all three as map expansions later.

Anyway, we’re still working and completing the last of the design work on the map, so we don’t have that to show. But all the units are done and at the printer right now, as is the play testing. So we have the last of the graphical design on the map to do and the rules to layout for printing.

The game will now retail for $47.95.

We will also be releasing Empires of History: WWII Extra Armies ($11.95) which includes the color counters for all the neutrals in the world, as well as WWII: Alien Invasion as a variant to be played with the core game.

      Thanks,

    • War to End All Wars 3rd Edition (WWI)

      Hi Everyone,

With all the interest in WWI style A&A games, I am happy to say that the Guild of Blades has been working on the 3rd edition of its WWI variant, The War to End All Wars.

The War to End All Wars was originally released in 1998 and has been the Guild’s best selling A&A variant over the years. We’ve collected a great deal of feedback since that time and have redesigned the game. The War to End All Wars 3rd edition will be releasing in March 06,

The new 3rd edition has an all newly designed map thats 50% larger than the previous edition.  You can see a copy of the new game map in the files section of our Empires of History Yahoo Discussion Group.
      http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/empires-of-history/

The 3rd edition is also moving away from the plastic tokens the previous edition used and will now come with more than 1,100 oversized full color cardboard chit counters.

Anyway, we’ll be updating our WWI web pages soon with information on the forthcoming 3rd edition, and making release announcements to our Empires of History Discussion list and elsewhere.

If anyone here had the previous editions, I will be happy to go over what changes have been made to the rules. I can tell you the two biggest changes are how resources are tracked, the addition of colonial cities, dramatic changes in the U-boat rules and the addition of rivers and mountains.

Oh, the 3rd edition will stay at the 2nd edition price of $34.95. :)

    • RE: Michael Moore, Genius or Idiot?

and they were saying how he said he HATES America!<<

You know what I say. Anyone that trul hates America can just leave. And not come back! Thats the beauty of a free country.

Of course, the reason people like Moore don’t leave is that there is still no other country that fits his twisted sense of world view any better. And at least here that whole free speach thing lets him tout his nonesense without getting arrested or killed for it.

That being said, I have no problem with people who wish to express dislikes for particular laws or leadership, and strive to us the American system to inact change. That too is the beauty of a free country. Its just my opinion that Moores way of going about it is simply disgraceful…and the man has a severe problem with the concept of fact and truth.

    • Guild of Blades A&A Variants

      Hi Everyone,

Just stumbled upon these A&A forums. Have added them to my regular list of A&A sites to check on. Anyway, I represent a company named the Guild of Blades Publishing Group that has published a wide range of Axis & Allies variants and continues to release new ones. The company calls its A&A variant game line the “Empires of History” game series and uses a modified D10 base version of the A&A game engine in presenting a range of different historical periods and conflicts.

The Guild’s A&A variant games can be found at:
      http://www.guildofblades.com/empires.html

The Guild also publishes the Empires of History Magazine; a 32 page publication dedicated to A&A, its variants, and similar territorial-like board games like Eagle Games and others. The first issue was released a few months back and the next should be out early next year. Each issue also includes an Empires of History micro game. Issue #1 included the “Battle for Stalingrad” micro game. Issue #1 will contain “Tito’s Partisans”.
