I used to have to do it all the time when I was landing gliders. I would be coming in too high and not have the runway to overshoot by much. I’d put my air breaks on (which that huge plane doesn’t have), toss my wings one way and my tail rudder the other way.

My mother was watching the first time I did it and thought that her 14 year old son was crashing.

But to do it with a friggin Jet? Of that size? Hats off.

Under the Bismarck sortie the BC Prince of Whales should have been finished off and the 2 ships together made way for Brest. Then waited for Tirpitz to come out along with Scharnhorst and Gneisenau (spelling). Those 4 BB would have been something to behold. The admiralty would have been in stiches. Most of her capital ships were on convoy escort in many locations and the Germans had the advantage of deciding to focus on a single point of there choosing.

3 days, 3 hours, and 10 minutes, all spread throughout a little over a year.  So I guess you guys are just blowing me away!  (Is that bad, or good?)  :-P

Actually is a pretty CHEAP set-up.

The furniture is from Target.  Their Mission series; very inexpensive, but very solid if put together well.  The table that the board is on was made by me about 15 years ago from the remnants of a piece of 1" furniture grade birch plywood along with some screws, a couple of 2x4 scraps, and 4 casters off a discarded microwave cart.  The chair is another inexpensive model from Target.  PC was a mid-grade purchase from Best Buy.

You don;t have to spend a fortune.  Just pick good solid equipment, and then take care of it :-)
