      I just saw that today is the 195th anniversary of the Treaty of Ghent, effectively ending the War of 1812 in the United States. They had won us our nation back, and our pride, after we had lost our capital and 20,000 of our men. So my hat is off to all those who have ever served in the military, and who dream of a Christmas at home.

      @Brain:

      Isn’t it amusing that when people buy DVD’s they hardly ever watch those movies because they know that they can watch them anytime and so that time never comes

      You are so right. I personally own around 100+ DVDs and I do watch some of them frequently, and others hardly ever, so it justs depends on how the movie “grabs” you.

      But I guess we are going off topic here so back to PC vs. Mac. How about those new commercials, Mac is continuing to assault PC now with Windows 7. It is getting a little old now I think. I did find some of them funny at the start but now… :|

      Kill Bill wasn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen, by far.  I just felt pretty “meh” about it and found it annoying it was in two parts.  That may seem weird when there are good trilogies out there, but it did not really work for me as a bilogy.

      Inglourious Basterds was more entertaining to me in that it has a theme I’m familiar with, it gave Hitler what he deserved, and while it had less action than I was expecting, the dialogue/foreign languages were pretty well done.

      Pulp Fiction I couldn’t appreciate as cinema since I saw it in middle school.  It just seemed a bit shocking but I couldn’t gauge it as good or bad.  These days I don’t care for it, but I could give repeating views to Reservoir Dogs and slightly fewer to Jackie Brown.

      Also, the QT endorsed Old Boy is one of my favorites.

      @Imperious:

      I would love to see a video of a chimps playing AA…each wearing the various helmets or caps of each nation in full regalia.

      Imagine a chimp japanese admiral or Tojo looking fellow?

      I wish somebody here had access to chimps ( other than WOTC).

      oh well…

      I think you are on to something.  :-D
      Remember those Gremlin movies? I could just imagine chimps acting like that getting out of control and turning the game into a live action version where they start blowing each other up. :evil:
      You should write and direct it and then get the staff from WOTC to star in it. :lol: :lol:

      Absolutely.  A person that is given some liberties regarding how they spend their time at work will usually perform better in the long run than somebody that is forced to “work” for the duration.  Granted, this is the case for salaried professionals more so than for menial, minimum wage hourly jobs where the worker is much more replaceable.  A professional that you need to put significant resources into to make them an important, contributing member of the organization should be allowed some freedom in this regard.  If their job is high-stress, they will just get burned out quicker if the stress isn’t relived in some manner.

      @Craig:

      The control markers on the edge of the board,are those for country rankings,for the IPC’s?

      Yes.  I placed an IPC track along the outer edge of the board.

      That’s a great idea.  Do you have magnets under your control markers so they don’t move around?

      Mind posting a copy of your IPC tracking strip for the rest of us, it’s a great idea.

      I’m also interested in where you got the cool clamps you use to keep the board together.  It sounds like we’re going to need something like that for the AA50 OOB map.

      No magnets.

      The IPC track is just something I whipped up with MS Word.  Nothing special.  Just make your own chart and then cut it into long strips.

      If you look closely, I actually have a paper copy of the playtest map sandwiched between plexiglass and a piece of hardboard.  Then I just used some clips that are meant to be used on glass cabinet doors.

      I do agree that there may be a need to come up with some kind of clips to hold the map sections together but I don’t think that these are applicable.

      Craig

      @Imperious:

      That was written presumably by somebody who probably likes vanilla ice cream, chicken nuggets,and hates fruits and vegetables… basically anything that has a bland taste and devoid of style. In terms of ideas he probably never had any creative ideas, always thought inside the box, and always followed the rules without question. Essentially a simple, two dimensional man.

      Its a fun life but very boring. Let him play OOB for the rest of his life.

      Well, I can’t claim author credit.

      But -

      1.  You don’t like vanilla ice cream?
      2.  You don’t like chicken nuggets?
      3.  You think fruits and vegetables are excitingly tasty and stylish?

      BACK!  BACK, I SAY! (blam blam)  :x

      Or maybe Imperious was just being tongue in cheek  :oops: . . . you’ll have to ask him that question for me when you GET TO H***!  :evil:

      (BLAM BLAM)  :evil:

      Man, I’m for artificial preservatives and breast implants all the way!  (well, I don’t really like the latter, but I support them in principle)

      Not sure yet, I’m stil about 7 months out, so they’ll change it at least 7 times between now and then.  That in includes the time table.  So it could be anywhere from May to December, OIF or OEF…

      @Gargantua:

      In any war, you don’t want to put your opponents back to the wall, his life at risk.  You want him to surrender, and take the “easy” path, where he can go on being worriless and cared for in a POW camp, that has far better luxuries then he is currently accomodated with.

      LOL!! Try telling that to a Imperial Japanesse soilder in WWII!  :lol:

      ?

      To blame “The Media” for societal degeneration is a bogus argument.  Media reflects what is occurring in our world and culture.  It is not a causative entity.

      If you want to look for the cause of the degeneration in our society (if indeed it actually is degenerating…  we seem to have improved dramatically from the crime ridden culture of the 1970’s where our cities were considered to be on the verge of total collapse due to crime) then you need to look to the breakdown of the family and the community first and foremost.
