This pic shows how I added a bit of extra territory to the edge of the map and added a border between C. US and Alberta. Also, I changed the border between New Brunswick, Quebec, and the E. US so that there is no confusion over how it properly is to meet with sea zone 106.

Another sea zone text picture.

Here’s a pic of the sea zone text I had mentioned.

Here’s a pic of the Western US and Mexico. I removed the 50ipc marker and centered the 10ipc marker. Since sea zone 10 does not connect with the other side of the board, I elongated the two territories so they take up all of the sea zone. Also, hopefully you can see that I added text which labels which territories they border on the other map. I also did this for all the sea zones on the edges.
Also, I thought the convoy markers and kamikaze symbols blended into the map too much, so I changed them.

Here’s a pic of the whole map. The file is so small, it doesn’t yield much information though.

Let me start by showing what I had to do in order to make my map. I had to resort to cutting up my existing map so that it would fit on my scanner and then I used Photoshop to put it back together. Along the way, I made many corrections and improvements (in my opinion at least) to the map. I have it adhered to a sheet of metal and I will be magnetizing all of my pieces and chips so that it can be mounted on the wall where I can leave the game set up between play sessions. If anyone is wondering, I enlarged the map to 84" x 38.5".
Enjoy.
Also, a colossal thank you to the one and only Bob_A_Mickelson. He gave me most of the ideas for areas I needed to improve the map on. With out his editorial help, my map would be far less than what I can now look at for a long time into the future.
A big public Thank you to you Bob,

I can understand the feeling. I hope you have people to play and enjoy it greatly. Just make sure you use the Alpha +.2 rules.
@Trisdin:
I have spent a lot of money on A&A games over the past two years, and if I spent $500 on yet another A&A game. my wife would literally kill me. Thanks anyway.
Well, everyone has to die sooner or later. Why not die happy at least?
Its better to beg for forgiveness than to ask permission!
Yeah, you sure seem to be right about this one. Here I thought they might find it flattering that someone took the time to do this and actually ASK for permission to use it and share it with others. Hell, I had a buddy that sent in a copyright request back when AAR came out and Wizards, at the time, granted him copyright permission to use their graphics for something similar. So much for that.
Again, I will unfortunately not be giving this map to anyone else, so people can stop emailing or sending me a PM asking for the map anyways. Hell, they said I couldn’t even print it for myself for flippin’ sake! Man, this has really put me a bad mood….
I’ve updated my first post. It sucks. :x
there shouldn’t be a problem since your not SELLING the map are you? no. your only correcting the mistakes they chose to ignore!
I’m not trying to be a prick, but remember Napster? That was only people sharing music, not selling it. Right? How did that end? Same thing here. The A&A boards are copyrighted by Wizards of the Coast. Since my board IS A DIRECT COPY of theirs, I am asking for their permission to reproduce it here and for my own personal use. If they give me the go ahead (which I really, really hope they do) then I’ll post it here for all to see and use. If they don’t give me permission, then I will unfortunately not be able to share it.
Hey gsh, have you received any word from wotc? I really, really hope they allow you to post it
Not yet. I’m still waiting so I can print one for myself too. I have been in touch with their customer service department, but they don’t handle this request. My request has been forwarded to their “branding department” who will make this decision. It is them I am awaiting a response from.
Standard. I use the little 12mm dice. I love being able to roll huge battles with 30+ dice in your hands and then either jump for joy when it goes awesome or weep like a kid when there are only three hits in the box. :-D
Nimitz,
Have you finished this project yet? Any photos of it?
I updated the first post.
I have seven compartments in each of my boxes. One is a bit oversized to fit all of the infantry and roundels. The others are all uniform in size and fit two each of the other unit types.
For me, I ran out of German mechs along time ago. I’ve used so many in fact that I started using the Japanese mechs on the Europe board for Germany. Even then, I had the Japanese mechs down to only one left in the box.
IL,
You may as well lock this thread. Larry has already backed down from this proposed rule. See this quote from his web site:
Wow… and I thought I had problems. But, like I said, there is no need for polls. Logic and good argument is far more effective when it comes to me. Democracy/numbers, from which polls draw their substance is a farce, that’s why the greatest country in human history is a republic.
If anyone has noticed, there has been no changes to the page 1 Alpha+2 rules as relates to this issue. This idea went up the flag pole and no one saluted it. Let’s bring it down. Sorry for all the stress I caused. You guys are the best!

That “LH-i” at the end is Larry Harris. This one is done.
