    • RE: Where is the US allowed to move before declaring war?

The limited fleet access rule is only for the Europe board. US ships can’t border Europe or Africa, but it can move freely in the Pacific.

    • RE: USA KICKS EVERYONE'S ASS!

Germany could always 10 infantry in the UK the turn after they take it and scatter some destroyers in the North Atlantic to slow up them inbound Americans if possible.

When you take over a major factory it becomes a minor, so you can only build 3 units on the first turn after you capture it.

    • RE: There are not enough Italian Roundels!!!

No one attacked my Italians and I ran wild.

That’s why they’re my favorite power. When you’re left alone, you can completely dominate the game.

      You stole my idea

Haha, sorry Calvin. It’s a good idea.  :-)

    • RE: Choose your Leader

The Vikings were great at battling others and sacking villages, but they weren’t organized into empires, and their leaders made no attempt to form governments over the people. If they did form a central government, I’m sure they would have dominated Northern Europe and England for centuries, but their leaders remained as warlords and never organized enough to create a stable country

    • RE: Mongolia

The territories that held some significance in the actual war and had developed economies at the time (like Brazil, Spain, Turkey, Sweden, etc.) have values, but territories like Mongolia that held no value then (and still doesn’t hold much now… no offense to any Mongolians out there  :-D) don’t have any IPCs. They only have garrisons to defend themselves.

    • RE: U.K. Cruiser Set up -Barely Enough!

The starting cruisers won’t survive long anyway, so it doesn’t matter that much

    • RE: Hyper-Monroe Doctrine

Hahaha you forgot to ad 7 for Canada

Hahahaha, good point. Canada and S. America bring it up to 101 IPCs. More than enough to hold off all of the other powers!  :-D

    • RE: Favorite Power?

Italy is my favorite in E40 and Global. I like the smaller focus of Italy. It’s easier to keep track of everything, but it’s still large enough to be flexible and try out new strategies. And when Italy does well in the game (and makes 35-40 IPCs) you can create your own empire and operate completely independantly. l’Italia aumenterà! Vive mare nostrum!

    • RE: There are not enough Italian Roundels!!!

I think the easiest solution is to just use French roundels when you run out of Italian ones. It’s not like the French are going to need any of them (ever ) and they look pretty similar.

    • RE: Comparison betw AAG40 and AA50?

movement is the same which means the games take twice as long.

But AAG40 has Naval bases which increase movement to 3 (so the game only takes 1.5 times as long at sea  :-D)

    • RE: Hyper-Monroe Doctrine

US declares itself an independent power and fights both the axis and allies

At 86 IPCs, the US can hold its own for a while against everyone else. I think I have my first global variation…

    • RE: Fav country in g40 now that its out

I’d want to controll France as the allies, but I wouldn’t want them to be my only power. They can have some fun with their destroyer, but other than that their infantry are next to useless.

I was really hoping for a Free France rule where they could collect income and mobilize troops (maybe just infantry and art) in Africa. I’m not sure if adding this will imbalance the game too much, though. I’d still like to try it out, at least to not doom the French to complete uselessness.

    • RE: Missing French Pieces

At least we didn’t have horses! Besides by the end of the war, we had the forth strongest military.

Fourth behind who? USA, USSR, and UK? Technically wasn’t the Canadian military part of the UK (commonwealth) military?

    • RE: Imperious leader’s best moves for AAE40/ AAG40:

It looks pretty good. I’m going to try these out.

What purchases do you suggest for US during peacetime? Are you focusing on a massive navy with a few land units and transports? My buys would be (during the three turns of peace) 1CV, 1fig, 1 tac, 3 trns, 3arm, 3inf. I’m not sure if I need more anti-sub ships or bombard ships. Any thoughts?

    • RE: Seriously?

Guys I have been reading these posts for awhile and I am getting tired of people whining about possible Europe 40 glitches…Yes I agree that pacific is broken but can you honestly say that playtesters didnt see the UK attack on Italy or the RN getting destroyed first turn? Even the Sealion?? In the Rulebook It states that Sealion is a very concievable option and LH did that on purpose. If you can find that it is broken just by playing it for a day then we have so little faith in the developers as possible. I personnally love this game and think that it was designed beautifully. I know that not all of you are whining and I know that Im newer to the boards so go ahead and rip me a new one. But stop trying to find the “faults” to the game… LH is smarter than you think

Finally! Thank you for bringing some sense here!

    • RE: May neutrals invade neutrals?

Besides even if the did invade Columbia all other neutrals would become pro-axis.

I think he was talking about Columbia University. I don’t know why the US would want to invade it, seeing as how it’s already in their territory, but, whatever floats their boat…

It sounds like Italy was a force to be reckoned with. What was their income a few turns into the game?

It depends who you’re playing against (just like Axis and Allies!)
