I thought somebody came out with those already.

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!
For many Jews - being Jewish has more to do with culture, ethnic ties, and genotype and phenotype (i.e. genetics and how the genes express themselves) than religion. This is a people that may be considered to be bound by a covenant with God, but in strictly human terms, there is more to them than that.:cry: I see. I really ought not to post when I have no idea what I’m talking about…then again, that might mean I’d have to quit posting. :wink:
Also, that doesn’t mean that’s not how the government sees them. -

If you ever play me as Allies/Russia …I will make Japan pay a severe price. You can forget the gang rush to Russia itself…not going to happen :) Instead I am going to wear you down and frustrate you in the first 7 turns :)
Impressive…would you manage this even without help from the other allies?

RE: On the Existence of "God"posted in General Discussion
“An eye for an eye” in Jewish law means one must pay the equivalent sum of the eye to the person who one maimed. It is not physical payment but monetary compensation.
How much is an eye worth?

RE: Affirmative Actionposted in General Discussion
You can’t forget that some minority groups suffer because of things like this. For example, the minority group I am in, the Jews, are not included in Affirmative Action or in any of these programs because Jews have been able to succeed without them. Also, when universities/colleges start assigning places based on the demographics of the American population then surely Jews suffer in trying to get into universities/collegesas we make up only 2% of the US population, yet we have made up the majority of university graduates (over 60% at Yale for example).
Separation of church and state, remember? Jews don’t because they’re a religion-at least that’s the way I see it.

I hope El Jefe is putting his life where his mouth is and is allready enscripted for military duty in Iraq. I can’t convince him that things are going not good in Iraq, if even the soldiers raising their voice against the American governement can’t convince him.
The only thing I hear soldiers complaining about here in Kuwait is the fact that we’ve been here over 6 months (it should have only been 6 mos.) and the fact that it’s hotter than h*ll over here. So a) the army made a mistake, and b)I don’t think they can do anything about this.
Of course, I’m only a logistics specialist, so maybe my opinion doesn’t count. :) -
RE: Liberia… Your thoughts?posted in General Discussion
So what? We went in after some oil. Big deal. All right, a little logic here. Who gets the oil? Big companies. What do they do? Sell it. Who gets it? Some of it goes to other companies, some of it goes to consumers. What do other companies do with it? Use it to whatever end to sell stuff to people. In our capitalism based society, the consumer is the reason for companies to exist. Therefore, if you have a problem with wars for oil, stop using the stuff! Of course, you will also have to stop using anything that has any relation to oil, so logically, if you refute me, you’re already wrong!
Disclaimer: Lay into me if you want, I may be illogical and have ill-thought out ideas, but it does make a certain kind of sense, doesn’t it? :roll:

@F_alk:
No, we have all Umlauts here: ä ö ü Ä ö Ü ß,
then the z and y key are changed, as we need the z more often than the y. At least, some of the signs have different positions.And that is only one other keyboard. The Scandinavians, the French, probably the Turks will have other keyboards, and don’t forget all those that use a different alphabet.
Excellent! I would have asked about the Scandinavians, but don’t they all speak different languages? I would guess the Turks definitely, as they use the Cyrillic alphabet :-? .
believe monty python’s flying circus had a sketch with a unit of suicidal scottish highlanders too. very funny, even though i am a big fan of scotland.
The only one I can think of like that is where everyone gets eaten by blancmanges from outer space. :D

RE: Best IC (When/Where)???posted in Axis & Allies Classic
As discussed in another forum, the India IC is the primary way to stop Japan’s advance across Asia, but it can be hard to defend. I would wait until UK’s second turn to put it there, most likely. On the other side, it is a good place for Japan to place an IC, as it allows them quick access to Russia. For Japan, I’d wait until I knocked all of the UK/US forces out to prevent retaliation.

RE: Instead of bidding try this in your gameposted in Axis & Allies Classic
I agree with MB, seems to give Axis too much of an edge…however, it seems when I play as Axis, I usually win, even without RR or bids…maybe the Allied players just suck-less likely, I’m just that brilliant of a tactician. :D
Or maybe it’s my psychological warfare of taking half an hour to decide what to do with my ally. :wink:

RE: Is it possible for Russia to build a navy and still win?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
@Anonymous:
Japan can win alone against all 3 Allies providing she has the triple threat of LR, IT & HBs. The best bet in this case is the hail mary direct assault on the US first. You will need to own Hawaii, have at least 8 trannies and at least 4 LR HBs. If you can amass that before your front crumbles you have a decent chance.
Those are pretty long odds, wouldn’t you say?

@cystic:
call me biased, but you forgot the Mennonites.
Even in Canada we were persecuted for our religious beliefs and our bizaare cultures.
Still, for a people of our size, there has been a near disproportionate amount of persecution relatively speaking.
First of all, if you don’t want to answer, then I’m sorry for asking.
1. You’re biased. :P
2. What bizarre cultures?
3. How big are the Mennonites?

@F_alk:
Is it surprising to find Umlaute on german keyboards?
I guess my lack of travel experience leads me to assume things that I would otherwise realize. So they just put those keys on there? I thought there was some sort of Alt + [button] you had to press or something like that.

truly, the government is wonderful at giving people jobs, etc. to people who have no skills, but are part of a “minority/underpriviliged group”.

Thanks for responding! You say that your group doesn’t do much WD-
have you ever tried free WD rolls? (i.e. you’d roll a die without putting down the $5. aand if you get a six then roll for the WD…)No, we haven’t. I like the idea, but some of my friends might be against it. :)

RE: US IC in FIN/NORposted in Axis & Allies Classic
I could see the merit in a US IC there, but it really depends on how the Germans play.
