      @UKcommander:

      I have no idea how the conversation went from strategic bombing to TG’s sister,

      http://axisandallies.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=25003&highlight=#25003

      The whole glorious online sibling rivalry right here. :wink:

      As far as strat bombing, rolling two dice makes them too close to HBRs, IMO. Maybe if the rule could be for HBRs and if they score 15 or more damage, you can destroy the factory instead of paying for it.

    • RE: Affirmative Action

      I think Title 9 provides that there must be an equal # of males/females in athletics as the proportion of same in the school. Ex: 2000 students, 50% split, there must be a 50% proportion of male/female athletes. I think there must also be an equal number of sports allowed, but I’m not sure. The reason I feel Title 9 is wrong is because there generally aren’t as many sports offered for females, and there are usually less females who want to be athletes, my apologies to any female athletes out there. :)

    • RE: Would you recommend A&A?

      dang, that’s what i always get in trouble for. Maybe they’re just mad at me because I tend to win more often than not in A&A. (Seriously, I almost always win, unless my ally does something stupid, like leave the USA open to attack from Germany. It happened!)

      Well, the difference is the same, I really think it’s all right the way it is.

      Hahaha, like my Sister! :lol: :o

      Yeah, I read about that somewhere. If she was my sister, I probably would have disowned her or something. :)

      @TG:

      I dunno… I like to know the person before I recommend it to him. I’ve seen too many friends turn away from A&A because it doesn’t offer “Totally Xtreme Action to the Max” (ie about the same amount of intelligence required to watch an episode of Jackass or stare at a Bug Lamp)

      I recommend A&A to everybody…people turn away from A&A when I say it’s more complicated than RISK. It just takes some time to learn, that’s all! :(

      Yeah, I kind of figured it was something like that, but I just wanted to see if I could veer the topic way off track. :) Curses, foiled again by the moderators! :wink:

    • RE: Affirmative Action

      @The:

      I apologize in advance for attempting to shift the focus of this conversation. What is everyone’s take on Title 9? Should women be offered the same opportunities that men have in college sports if by doing so they, in some cases, restrict a man’s opportunity?

      I think not; why should womens’ athletic opportunities be held in equal regard as mens’ if interest in the two by the respective athletes is not?

      Again, sorry, but the two ideas (Affirmative Action and Title 9) share some similarities.

      I agree. Title 9 is wrong. I believe anyone should have a chance to do whatever they want as long as it doesn’t restrict anyone else’s ability to do what they want to do.

      I also like Harry Turtledove’s alt-history books. Unfortunately, he does have a series where WWII came out differently-no A&A, horror of horrors! :D

    • RE: WMDs…an independent source...

      Maybe the US Army should stop all those missleading advertisements.

      How do you know? Perhaps the people in those ads actually feel that way.

      But this doesn’t change the fact that the American governement made promisses they could not hold. They told them, that they will be home soon, but they are still in Iraq and will be there for some more time. They told them, that the Iraqis will cheer when they are “liberated”, but they didn’t tell them about those bringing death to the occupation forces.

      I don’t recall being promised anything. My orders say I could be here for 6-12 months. I have 5 more months before they’re wrong. I also believe that they said there would be some resistance afterwards, but even if they didn’t, it’s not like it would have been unexpected.

      @F_alk:

      Cholera has been found to be nicer than Plague.

      By who? Victims of these diseases or scientists who just studied them? I would think you’d have to have had both these diseases to have an opinion on that, and I doubt there are many that have.

    • RE: ONLY Axis BBs 2 hit @ start…

      i would rather see two-hit carriers instead, because although i don’t have the history right now, i know that the u.s and japan relied more heavily on carriers and air power than battleships.

      @TG:

      If you want to make SBRs stronger, you can try something like this: after rolling the die to determine IPCs lost, you roll the die one additional time. If on that time you score a 6, the IPC value of that territory permanently drops by 1.

      I don’t much like this either; I know some people who are very skilled @ rolling sixes. :wink: I would try something like if you roll a certain number, you get to roll again for damage.

    • RE: Whats da difference between A&A and A&A europe A&

      A&A has U.S, U.K., and Russia as Allies, A&AE has all the Allies and Germany in the European theater, and A&AP has U.K and U.S vs. Japan in the Pacific. In my opinion A&A original is the best, but I’ve only played that and A&AE. As far as rules go, I don’t have any idea about that.

      @Dhirvish:

      Never heard of Park Falls Grig, but in my experience Wis has a heck of a lot of small towns. I dont think there is anything west of GB or Milw that has more than 25 people right? :lol:

      True dat. However, if you have any experience of WI at all being in Duluth, you should know of Ashland, about an hour E of Duluth. Park Falls is about an hour south of there. 8)

    • RE: A&A Addict status…

      why do the rankings go as they do? seems like it’s an awful long way from addict to super mega addict. shouldn’t there be another one in between there, like at 586, just to be random?

    • RE: The Worst History

      @TG:

      And other minority groups haven’t? I’m not exactly sure what you mean by that. There have been many civil rights movements by africians, hispanics, homosexuals, and native americans in the past. You see these groups standing up for their rights more than I have seen of Jews… :-?

      I think that’s partially the point here. These groups are busy demonstrating when the Jews are just going out there and doing well in a variety of areas.

      so in other words, instead of trying to fix a problem we’ve created (underqualified minorities) we just fix the problem itself by educating everyone equally? What a great idea! Too bad it’ll never happen. :roll:
