      i am registered :D

i dont have cookies enabled i think, so everytime i visit the boards i am not logged in. I usually just view messages without posting anything so there is no need to login, but when i do want to reply i would have to login first, then go back to the thread, id rather post as anonymous. I don’t think someone would want to imposter me anyway ;)

Ill try to post as much with this name though, might be easier…

    • RE: Italy

I personally would leave finland to the german army. It would be completely isolated from the rest of the italian army in the south. It’s also isolated from the german troops when their navy in the baltic is destroyed but they could be used to attack karelia, while the italian army would be heading for the caucasus on the russian front. And if you want to get the german IPC up i would recommend adding 1 to Finland/Norway (for a total of 3 ipc) along with the bonus on eastern europe.

    • RE: First turn Russia, an IC in Yakut.

I think the Japanese have a good chance of beating the 4 infantry and 1 tank in yakut if they attack with all forces from manchuria and all fighters/bombers they have in store. That would be the end of the game. Also i don’t think you can determine which course a player will choose when implementing such a daring strategy. Each player will react different to it, i for example would use the newly available space for the german army not to attack karelia but to leave less troops in eastern europe and buying a transport and some troops to conquer africa without having to be afraid of the russian thread. I would use the japanese player to buy trannies in order to get a major concentration of forces in manchuria, which will without a doubt capture the Yakut IC quite soon.

    • RE: In our game Germany ALWAYS wins- help us

a new player doesnt understand or is not able to perform expert strategies mate. I mean i play Age of Empires2 and i cant do expert moves simply because my basics are not good enough. People learn to play by constantly adopting better strategies from other players. If a new player only knows one or two expert strategies then there is a high chance he will lose most of his games because he cant handle a situation in which the opponent does a non-standard move.

destroy the german navy asap, then focus on amphibious landings near the baltic states, western europe or germany itself. Make sure US has 3 transports near east coast, 3 transports in the celtic sea and 3 transports to attack the mainland of europe with, in that way you allways have a constant stream of troops attacking germany.

      30 infantries, taken from?

defend ukraine and belorussia with russia, then wait for allied relief.

    • RE: Favorite country

I dont, building a pacific fleet takes at least 3 or 4 turns, these turns can be used by both axis to cripple russia. So a pacific fleet only relieves the russians after they have been crippled far enough by the axis.

    • RE: Battleships or subs

a 2 hit battleship helps your fleet more then 3 subs. It adds some firepower, less then subs though, but it can also take 1 extra hit and it can support amphibious assaults and it can attack planes.

    • RE: Few questions

no the battleships first roll, then casualties are removed (just like with a sub) and the ship is retreated from battle (so it cant be hit). Works exactly like AA-guns.

    • RE: Russia in the East

The most important countries in Asia are Yakut, Sinkiang and India. If allies can hold these countries then Russia is secure and maybe Africa as well. The line between these countries is also the narrowest and therefore most easy to defend line. If you lose Yakut then pull back and wait for the Japanese at moscow, if you lose sinkiang then send some forces to novosibirsk and a few to khazakh, if you lose india, bad luck.

Japan should therefore try to capture Yakut and Sinkiang as early as possible in the game, after dealing with any allied factories.

Russia eastern defence: 5 infantry in Yakut, 2 in Far East and 1 tank in novosibirst to counterattack german or japanese assaults or to support india factory.

    • RE: Newbie Russia versus an Experience Germany

turn 1: send navy to north sea to defend english fleet, send moscow infantry and 3infantry from caucasus into Karelia as well as 2 fighters. Move 3 tanks to Moscow, 1 tank from far east to novosibirsk, send 2 infantry from evenki to yakut. Place all new units in Karelia. Germany will kill itself attacking Karelia, Japan will most likely not attack Yakut, Any attacks can be counterattacked by your tanks, infantry and planes.

    • RE: AAE or Formula Dè?

hei  (got some norwegian friends )

AAE is not very popular in here  Probably the worst game of the A&A series. I dont really enjoy playing the game, although i like making alternative scenarios for it (like Europe 1939). I dont know the other game but i would choose Pacific or the original A&A instead of Europe.

    • RE: Favorite country

      no its not.
You have to divide your forces between two fronts, furthermore you have to gain valuable ipc’s by capturing countries like ukraine, scandinavia, eastern europe, etc. Its allways a real challenge to get an income of 30 or more IPC’s before you do an all out attack on Germany, while your last remaining forces in Russia itself defend the capital against the japanese
