    • RE: Which nations will be separate and dedicated Axis & Allies Global 1940 nations?

      Yes, but with so much information overload I started doubting my own thoughts and ideas.

      @Krieghund:

      @GrayBlaZe:

      Hey Keighund, got a question; Why could it not be considered to be up to a nine person global game instead of six.  I do understand that playing France, China or ANZAC will be very minor, however, it’s possible for nine people to draw straws and last three places got it get the minors.  Or am I missing somthing?  I’m assuming that it’s just listed as six because that is the max number that would be a good game to spread playing around equally so nobody is just totally eliminated fast with France or having to play limited China.  Is this correct?  Thanx……

      You’ve already answered your own question:

      @GrayBlaZe:

      When they state the number of players, it is just a recomendation.  You could very well play with nine players except; France, China, & ANZAC would be quite boring, unless a newbe or child was playing with you, it would be good for them to play a minor country.  If you are playing with six then some player would play two counties, however, they are still considerd nine different armies; if you play two they don’t mix there income.  So it always be nine indiviual counties weither you play with nine people or two.

      The “official” player mix listed in the rules is what we consider to be the best mix for optimal enjoyment of the game.  There’s nothing stopping you from changing that if you have more than six people who want to play.  I do think, however, that getting beyond six will definitely get into territory that could be at least somewhat boring for players of minor powers (ANZAC, China and France).  A seventh player playing all three wouldn’t be too bad, though.

      @Krieghund:

      Ummm, technically not.  Europe by itself is 2-5 players, but the combined game is 2-6.

    • RE: Global Map View

      It doesn’t really matter to me if the US is a match because I would not think of playing a game like that, however it would be cool to see it from that view.

    • RE: Global Map View

      I made the global pic my desk top pic last week so I can stare at it and dream about Aug 24th.  It may be fuzzy but I just look at it in whole and not so much the details until a better pic gets released.

    • More sensible looking Global Map

      When the AAE40 map is moved to a lower alignment in perspective to the AAP40 map it all lines up in a more sensible view and looks like it’s coming together.

    • Pic of AAP40 & AAE40 side-by-side

      This is very RAW, taken from the early pic when AAP40 was first coming out and the new AAE40 pic from the box art and making the two inner sides the same size and parellel with each other.  India really is very far off from each other on the two maps, I hope this is from distortion or the AAE40 pic was for test and not measured to line up.

    • RE: A new look at the same picture.

      Ok, here one more I did the other day.  Again, just to get a perceptive idea of what it would look like.  Nothing to scale or detailed, just slapped together quickly for the what-it’s-worth department.

      just changed the angle of view and it looks good from a distance (a little better perspective), not so good close up.

    • China not being able to enter Korea

      By rules China can only go into territories that have the Chinese national symbols with the exception of Kwangtung and Burma.  I understand the restrictions but don’t understand why they were not also allowed to advance into Korea (Japanese originally owned).  Why not make an exception for the Korean territory like Kwangtung and Burma.  If the Chinese were kicking Japans butt they would have to just stop at the Korean border and wait for another ally to finish.  I know this is minor and not very important to the game play, I’m just curious.  Can someone explain the reasoning, thanx……………

      Does anyone know if France is going to be a regular full force, or just a limited army like China?

    • Question on placing newly purchased Air/Naval Bases

      Can a player purchase a base and place it in/on an allies’ territory?  The rule simply state on page 22, under Unit Profiles, Industrial Complexes and Bases (Facilities), “Air bases can be built on any controlled territory or island.  Naval bases can be built on territories with a coastline and on any island.”.  This is vague and doesn’t specify; controlled by allies or controlled by the player.  I can only assume the territory must be controlled by the player and not an ally, but since I can’t find it anywhere all I can do is assume.  I thought I would find something on page 20 under, Phase 5: Mobilize New Units, Restrictions on Placement, however, bases are not even mentioned.  Here’s my example: (1) As the US player (already at war), can I place an air base on UK’s Gilbert Islands or Fiji.  And if not, (2) can I, if the UK’s capital is captured?  I also looked though the Errata and on this forum and cannot find clarification on this anywhere, hope I’m not asking something that has been beat to the ground already.

    • Graphic Battle boards

      On Jan 6th I posted pics of battle boards I created along with pics of planes, airbases and naval bases.  I was e-mailed by a few people requesting a copy of the battle boards, so here they are.  You can just click on them, save them to a thumb drive, take it to a photo shop place (like Wally-World) and print in a 8 x 10.  These will probably not be favored by experienced players.  However, for novice players they are separated in to land or sea battles, completely graphic and not only used as battle boards but they also double as reference cards.  I have included notes on anything to do with battling, i.e. strategic bombing, sub hits on only transports in a SZ, AA guns, and Kamikazes.  Not so much to be used in battles, but quick reference.  I think I covered everything involved in battles, if someone see something I forgot please let me know……thanx…

    • RE: UK/ANZAC T2 attack, and a question

      Yes playing by myself is a real bummer, trying to find people in my area “Nashville”.  Good new is my son and my son-in-law both will be moving here some time this year.  Until then I have no choice but to play myself.  The good news is I win every time.  The bad is news is I loose just as many……
