    • RE: NO Chart for Alpha+.2

Hey thanks for all the input Stefano.  I have a hard time proof reading myself……

I total missed putting in the correct IPC value for Caucasus, just went down the line on that row.

The fall of Calcutta/Berlin is from my original chart I made this from; it’s a house rule we play, I missed taking it out of this version.

The original rules in the European Rule book states that the Soviets must be in control of it’s original territores to collect these incomes.  I guess I never paid atention, that it’s is no longer stated in Alpha +2.

Again; great input, I’ll make the changes and repost.

I should post all my charts and docs on the forum so I can fix all the mistake I’ve missed.

Best thing to do is take it to Wal-Mart photo Center and print it on an 8x10, looks alot better than an ink jet printer can do and cost less than $3.00.  Then I don’t have to, but I pay them to laminate it, about $1.50 more.  OR you could just edit it by filling in the black background for white then print it.

    • Graphic comparison between Global and Original Game Setup

This is a comparison between AA Global 1940 and the Original 2nd addition 1942.  The original bit map files are over 12mg, I had to save them as two files, convert them to png files, then strip out information from the Global Map like neutral units, city names, sea zone numbers and such in order for the file to get under 256k.

The game has quite evolved over the years from checkers to 3d chess.  Doubled sea zones and tripled in territories.  And the numbers of units involved is most impressive when you look at how few units were involved in the setup of the original game.

Thanks Calvin, as always you’re right there with answers.  I really appreciate you.  I disagree with your politics but I appreciate your fast and accurate responses.

    • Question on Larry’s latest possible changes to Alpha Plus.1\.

On rule number 10.  “The United States may declare war on the Axis if London or any territory in North America is captured by an Axis power.”  Does this also include a) Scotland, b) Erie, or c) Iceland?  Neither of these territories are included in the description (they are not in North America and they are not London, United Kindom) however I was wondering if they should be included.

    • Do u have 2 take control of a territory once u defeated all defending units ?

This is a basic question and probably been answered before but I don’t know where to find it.  The instructions stat that “If you win combat as the attacker in a territory and you have one or more surviving land units there, you take control of it.”  My question is, do you have to?  Can you destroy all defending units then retreat back to a territory you came from even though you have defeated all the defending units?  Or, do you now have to take the territory?

Reasoning; I would like to take Germany into Normandy to take out the French units so Italy can just blitz its tank on I1 from Northern Italy and then take control of it.  Or course this is all during G1 in the same turn while the Germans are talking France and South France.

    • RE: Detailed Graphic of new Alpha Plus w/ Dec 15th Changes

When I try I get an error, the file to large, it cannot be over 256k to post.  I’ve tried to reduces the original (6 mg) bitmap pic and the smallest I can get to is 278 or somewhere close to that when I save in png format.  If you know a way I like to post together.

Had to reduce it from a BMP file of 6 mg to a PNG file and it was still over 256 K so I had to make it into two PNG files.  Does anyone know how I could post the entire pic and bypass the 256k restriction?

Thanks for the input, I’ll make the spelling changes to the main images.  I guess proof reading is not my strong suit.  But, I can’t even figure out where “Onyrt” came from.

I guess it got a bit misleading, it was only meant that they would only reach 95 or 97 where the AC would be waiting for them having landed their planes on Malta after the battle.

    • Detailed Drawing of Global Map & Global Map with Alpha Plus Setup

I have made, (months ago) detailed Bit Map images of global, and another one showing the setup, currently updated with the Alpha Plus.  The only difference between my images and the board is I made east and west line up which made Canada elongated so I put in a little more detail.

If this is something people might want to download, someone can tell me what to do to place the entire 6 Meg each bit map pics on here.
