12 hours for 3 turns is about what my group clocks in at. maybe a little faster somtimes but thats about it really. My group flexes in size from 4 to 6 players so that may be an affecting factor.

RE: Free for all?
Some friends of mine and me played a mod that was slightly based off of risk that was free for all. It was awesome :-D, its still in the development stages though.

RE: What is your most insane game of Global 1940?
I just finished a game of global in which both Japan and Germany pursued a kill America first strategy. Basically it almost worked, Japan failed to take western America, but they did invade it twice the second time taking it and holding it for a round, meanwhile the rest of Japan went to pot. Also Germany took a “sealion” fleet to Iceland and built a naval base there. Then they invaded Central America and took it then ensued several rounds of trading central for a couple rounds. Needless to say America did next to nothing the entire game. The Axis were winning in Europe until they Germany made a critical error in attacking a Russian stack of 50 some infantry and other assorted units. They failed to clear the stack of infantry. At that time the game was called a draw due to time constraints, but all the same it was awesome. :-D

RE: Balancing OOB Global
Isn’t A3.9 supposed to be the final balanced product?
Well from my ponit of veiw in the games that I have played is that in alpha 3 the axis have the advantege.
3.9 gives them more advantage sure with some incredible planning (like a 15 page breakdown) the allies can almost pull it off.
in my opinion 3.9 just made a bad situation worse. -
Aircraft Carrier Question
Hey, Just wondering if you have a fighter on an AC and say you move that fighter to the adjacent sea zone. do you need to count one movement point to take off from the AC?

RE: Is it possible to win as the allies after sealion?
Wow, really? alright note to self, keep Russians in German territory for 3 turns.

RE: Which Country
I love playing Italy :-D Just because you don’t need a huge amount of strategy just to play round 1, plus they are so much fun!

RE: How much time to be at war?
Well for my group it takes anywhere from 2-3 hours roughly. never clocked it. So your guess is pretty much spot on from this view.

RE: Is it possible to win as the allies after sealion?
Thanks for all the discusion. I lost a game in 5 rounds to a sealion strat. I seriously have a hard time seeing the allies winning at all. I fully expected russia to hold out for a minimum of 3 rounds before getting in trouble, however they crumpled in 2. . . . So I am really starting to doubt Globals feasibility in a game between an experienced player and a not so experienced player.

Is it possible to win as the allies after sealion?
I just played a game a while back in which the allies were utterly crushed on both sides of the map and Germany made huge plays decimating London and Russia. Granted I made VERY BAD mistakes  but from all that I have read on the forums and done in games myself (again I am not very experienced) after sea lion if the axis players are competent at all they easily win. So is it possible to win as the allies after sea lion?

How to play online?
Hey peoples, first if this is the wrong place to put this sorry but I am at wits end. I want to play online but don’t have either pacific or Europe games. I have heard talks about programs that help with this but so far have had no luck finding them as everyone else seems to know how to do everything :-( I have downloaded triple A but have not found a comparable map to the boards. Oh final note I Have no clue how to program so please no “just make the thing yourself its easy” comments.
Thanks :-D

RE: Can US ignore Japan?
A great way to learn is to review games others have played. You can review the play by forum games here but you will have to load the map utility to get the most of reviewing the play by forum discussion thread. You can also install tripleA and join games in progress, save the game and then dissect how others play the game.
Okay sounds good. . . . Question what is tripleA?

RE: Can US ignore Japan?
Thanks for all the advice and help. 8-) I think I have found my real problem, Me. I don’t have anybody other than me to play against and lately my games are starting to look similar. so thanks for the help. Quick final question (if anybody’s out there) say Germany takes Gibraltar, can the allies take Gibraltar back? seeing as how Gibraltar borders SZ 13 but not SZ12.

RE: Can US ignore Japan?
Every time that I ignore Japan they get freaky strong and either smash the Russians, Africa, US or all three.
