      Well under your ‘train’ of thought (hehe) all planes and boats in WWII games should have unlimited movement.

      You cannot approach it like that lol it would wreck the game.

      Railroads give land units +1 movement just like shipyards and airfields in G40 give planes and boats +1 movement.
      You should not be able to rail into a contested tt.

      well the aircraft would be waiting for them in those territories so when the germans would enter the territory to initiate the attack each unit was taking 4 dice of strafing fire causing 50% casualties.

      hahaha…just kidding dont go all stalin on me.
      i’ve tried this german tactic a couple of times, its never worked.  those troops get isolated, cut off and crushed when that far behind the front lines. so…generally speaking i agrre with what someone else said, it worked in that game because of thetranport/tank blitz mistake it sound like your guys made.

      Yes, that is a misstatement.  I should have written drops an IC into the territory.  You don’t need a Naval Base in Yugoslavia since you can make use of the ones in Italy proper from the same SZ.

      Attacking Russia as Japan always seemed to me as an operation that looked sweeter then it tasted.  I struggled for a long time to find a useful application of the Japan attacking Russia operation but in most cases I couldn’t see a possibility where the resources dedicated to it was the best possible outcome for the situation.

      I certainly think there are options I didn’t think of, but if Germany needs the assistance from Japan to pressure Russia into submission I think there is a good sign that Japan could be dominating in the Pacific.  This is a discussion thread all on it’s own so I won’t continue…

      Read up on what they are doing on a KAF strag on AA1940 Pacific.  I am merely suggesting to couple that with a Germany faking sealion and attacking the USA mainland with 20+ units the same turn Japan is attacking the USA mainland with 20+ units and 20+ planes.

      The trick to this, is to go for Gibraltar G2, or sometimes G3, and feign like you are going into the med.  The americans sometimes don’t pay attention and forget that you can reach washington from Gibraltar.  then BOOM you get to land in EUS and CUS. and they are done.  So long as the Canadians can’t liberate them…

      Just an idea, never tried this but it should work: put the “collect income” phase form the end to the beginning of the turn. Right now the rule book tells, that you have to collect income at the end of the turn, where you receive money for all countries you just conquered. It’s the widest expansion of your force in a certain round and for that reason associated with a “maximum income”. In the course of the round, when the other parties start their combat moves you probably lose previously conquered terrain and hence IPCs you just have “earned” in your turn of the round. Starting a turn with the collect income phase would let you earn less money a turn in comparison to the collect income phase at the end of the turn. Eventually that’s the logic behind the idea:

      rules: collect income at the the end - widest expansion - maximum income - more units could be bought - prolongation of battles -more time invested
      idea:  collect income at the beginning - smallest expansion - only minimum income -less unit could be bought - shortening of battles due to less resources - less time invested.
