Just to be clear on the rules:
I believe I can only bring 4 planes from Italy as the 5th doesn’t have a landing spot - even if I build a new carrier (as in PtV ruleset)?

I do not mind a risky attack if the situation is desparate and/or a win would gain a significant strategic advantage. But normally I prefer a solid attack with a positive TUV swing.
This attack is tempting me - but I am not sure yet. If Germany wins (32%) then it will be a major setback for the Allies - strategically and economically.
If I lose it will not be a disaster but also significantly worsen my overall situation (which is already pretty fragile but not yet desparate).

Yes, the Italian Navy cannot prevail if the Allies really want to sink it - but I had hoped it would either stay around as a fleet in being for another 1-2 rounds - or go down with an at least equal TUV swing.
But now it will sink with an average TUV swing of 47.
:fearful:Anyway - I still enjoy the game and who knows maybe the Italian Navy will score hits like the Siberian defenders in the first round ;-)

very unfortunate - especially since it could have easily been prevented. I even considered (without thinking of the ANZAC Dude) to land some troops on that side of the canal.
Anyway, looks like your victory is getting close
