I am surprised the battle for Castle Itter isn’t as well known as it should be, just because of how strange and awesome it was. I was looking at articles in flipboard on my phone about a week and a half ago, and " The Last Battle" came up. I’m considering getting the book. I would love to see this in a movie, or play out that scenario in a FPS like call of duty or RTS like Men of War.

I think Germany should have helped Italy out a lot more in the Mediterranean. Increased U-boat production and continue bombing raids on British air fields. starve them out. Run anti British propaganda campaigns in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Run anti soviet propaganda everywhere and anywhere they could. Push the British out of the middle east and Egypt. Gave Stalin what he wanted in the Balkans. Kept an eye on the soviets to make sure they were being honest. When i mean honest i mean not planning an invasion of Germany. Which i don’t think Stalin would have done if he had gotten more influence in the Balkans. At least not for a few years when Russia’s industry and army was brought up to par. After Hitler conquered the middle east he could come back and claim the soviets as invaders of eastern Europe ( i see the irony in that statement). Have the Ukrainians and other local non Russians fight for liberation against the soviets. Hitler could then just not given the land back after he “liberated” eastern Europe. I mean he was a liar after all. After Germany won the war and established its lands. It could then start its stupid final solution and mass emigrations for Lebensraum.

What colours is this coming out in? I know you said french blue and about 8-9 others. What are the 8-9 other colours? Is dutch orange one of them?

The chubby legs are fine. You only notice it because the picture is large. You wont notice when it is scaled down to the actual piece size.

Love the hex idea for the sea zones, I had the same idea a few years back when i was making a WW1 map for my own personal use. You need to make the territory outlines larger/bolder, or change the colour to distinguish better between the roads in the background.

If you plan to make the north Atlantic larger, you should add the Azores. The allies used those islands to stage their navy and aircraft to protect the convoys and hunt U-boats.

Or just make that coloured in territory its own separate sea zone. Why have a territory with naval and land. Doesn’t make sense

Raise Kiel’s border with Denmark farther north to where its supposed to be and draw the canal. Add a rule that you have to either own the canal or Denmark to enter into the Baltic sea.

Anyone compare the colours to HBG peices?

I have done this, I also use the Italian and Anzac roundels but they are not separate economies. It’s fun seeing the progress they make. I wouldn’t add an IC in Australia though. Britain could always buy one and place it there anytime they want.

My brother, father and myself sometimes play a 3 sided game. Germany, France, Italy vs USA, Great Britain, ANZAC vs Russia, China, Japan. We let china build anything it wants. we make shanghai its capital and give it a major there and a minor in manchuria.

Pieces look amazing! Cant wait to get my hands on this game.

I do have a couple of questions though. If you are not allowed to disclose this information, no worries, I understand. But please keep us posted if you can.

Compared to A&A games that are out now, what is the complexity of the game.

Any hint on colours for the nations? I’m assuming grey for Germany, blue for France, green for America. Hopefully Russia is not a shade of brown or red. White would be best, as ottomans should be red. Austria-Hungary should be yellow or black. Uk and Italy should be same as A&A tan and brown respectively.

I’m playing a game where there are 3 sides, no national objectives. USA UK ANZAC vs Russia China Japan vs Germany Italy France.

UK is losing territories left right and center. Germany and Italy gets set back quite a bit by not having any NO’s but the starting advantage of more troops and France helping start to balance it out. India has no chance to survive against the combined Chinese and Japanese forces, Unless USA helps out fast.

I gave china the ability to make any units, also gave it a major factory in Kiangsu and a minor in Manchuria also made its capital Shanghai. setup is current 1940.2. Gave each side a combined bid of 50 IPC to spend as they please. No more than 2 units per territory added facilities included. Neutrals are invadable with no repercussions.

Turn order we played rock paper scissors to decided who went first. each side moves all forces at same time. I’m playing Germany, Italy, and France and i won so i went first. Then USA, UK, ANZAC went second.

Each country controls their own IPC amount and troop production. So Germany Italy and France move at the same time, but they still have to build in their own industrial complexes.
