    • RE: New National Production & National Objectives Chart

I am curious as to how you guys are printing/mounting these.  What kind of paper are you printing it out on or are you guys taking it to a Fedex and having them do it.  Just wanting some opinions/options before I get them printed out.

    • RE: Convoy question

I think if your ship ends up in an enemy convoy zone and survives to their collect income phase it automatically deducts from their total, so that being said I believe you can attack to an enemy sea zone assuming you kill something or noncombat to one.  The convoy raiding takes place on the opponents collect income phase so its entirely different from your combat.

You know if everyone in the axis and allies community got together we could probably give enough backing to help Larry find a better producer/distributor for these games and get rid of the simple mistakes that they care to overlook.

    • RE: WOTC listened

I can’t believe you sold the anniversary edition, that version is like a solid gold bar and until this combiner game comes out, probably the best AA game out to date.  But I understand your point of view, I am also upset with the errors and breakdown in communication on whoevers part it is to allow such grievous mistakes to make it through to the final product.  Just astounds me that they let it happen.  You should take pride in your work and constantly improve your company in all aspects each and everyday.

Wow these images are outstanding and will stop me from mailing anything in to get a probably damaged battlestrip.  I will print all of these off and laminate them for immediate use and as for you guys asking about “marshal” cards, if you really want some official ones you can check out Axis and Allies revised edition because it came with them.

    • RE: Waiting to buy AAP40

Its worth getting cause when AAE40 comes out you will want both to play the combined game.  Also the introduction of new rules and units (convoys, declaration of war, air base, naval base, tactical bomber, mechanized infantry) make the game far more enjoyable and adds more depth and breadth to the series, further setting it apart from other board games.

    • RE: WOTC listened

I kinda want to get more tactical bombers and a more accurate battlestrip but if its mailed in an envelope and probably will get damaged then I wont bother.  I have 4 Axis and Allies games worth of units, IPC notes, score boards, battlestrips, etc.  I would be perfectly fine just supplementing this game and the AAE40 board when it comes out and just shift pieces from board to board.  Sucks when they screw up shipping things out but I just hope the Europe board doesn’t have messed up seazones and correct deployments for all factions, that matters more to me than more units.

    • RE: Japan declaring war question

Anzac is automatically brought into war with Japan if you attack the UK and vice versa.  The US can only be at war if Japan makes an unprovoked declaration of war against UK or Anzac or if it is the end of their 3rd turn then they are automatically at war with Japan.  I believe I am correct on this but could use an expert’s opinion on this.

    • RE: Mech infantry-heavy Japan?

Thanks for the clarification, still somewhat hazy on all the new rules in this setup.  Only playing one game of it and viewing the rulebook just a handful of times needs to change for me since I am usually the AA rulebook expert amongst my friends.

    • RE: New US strat thats tough to beat

I agree with you on US plans taking several turns to be implemented, just throwing another viewpoint out there.  Just really wondering if anyone playing Japan has ever considered sending a sizeable invasion force to knock out Anzac and stop the fighter pipeline while keeping solid pressure up on UK and China.  If Allied airforce is tipping the game in their favor why not take out one of the powers and stop the reinforcement?

    • RE: New US strat thats tough to beat

In the one game I played against a friend, I went heavy navy with US, coupled with Anzac fighters and naval supplements it was just a matter of time to kill the Jap fleet.  Problem was my friend wasn’t keeping up in the ship building arms race.  Thats the key to Japan in this game, be able to attack on all fronts and all theaters of war, you have to continually build land, air, and naval units to keep up and win.  I think most Japan players get too devoted to putting all their cash into taking Asia and DEI.  Great idea for cash and taking out some opponents but you are probably giving ground elsewhere.  Convoy raiding works both ways and can do some reverse “bleeding dry” of the Allies.  Countering air force and naval force movements is key, even feinting moves to get your enemies to buy units that will delay them another turn is a great idea.  I know everyone doesn’t have several free days to play a single game but when AAE40 version comes out, tactical delays will pay off.  Making the game last longer in your favor never hurts cause it is an economic game after all.

From what I read you can only blitz or move 2 spaces with mech infantry only if it is escorted with a tank.

    • RE: Bad news

I can understand you guys are upset about this but I am willing to bet that probably 95% or better of you guys that post on this website have multiple Axis and Allies games like myself.  That being said you can just combine all your pieces into one stockpile and move them from board to board when you play.  Since Pac 40 came with no money I used the money from the Revised and old Europe board to solve the problem.  Same with using some of the Revised and Anniversary pieces to bolster the Japanese in Pac 40.  Yeah it sucks they are making pieces more uniform and their are flaws that come with a game, things get lost sometimes in the chain of communication between designers and producers.  Oh and Italy was already headed down this route with every piece practically being another axis powers unit, except the infantry in the Anniversary edition so this isn’t new news.

    • RE: TripleA back up and running

I haven’t been able to run a single game in Triple A without it crashing or having an error report come up on me.  Should i remove any other Triple versions i have, namely the 1.0.3.4.  Would like to get some feedback on this, not sure why it keeps popping up errors on me.  I did download some maps from the website but they still come up with errors after like 2 factions have their turn in 1 round.

    • Triple A Map Problems

Can someone post a working link to getting new Triple A maps like the beta version of AA50, their main website isn’t working for me.  I haven’t kept tabs on this stuff in awhile and saw from surfing the forums that something happened, is that true?

    • RE: Fighter Swarm

If you are going to use a strong fighter force to help Russia out why not just take Finland and Norway as UK/US and use them as airbases to strike the northern/central fronts.  And i think getting some tech dice would be crucial in the early turns and go for chart 2 for either Jet Fighters, Long Range, or Heavy Bombers to help the Allies out on this tactic.  I do agree that no one can be ignored and you have to be playing against a complete Axis and Allies rookie to pull something like this off.  You also can’t avoid an entire theater of war to win a war, like no navy for invasion.  I mean come on Wodan, have you ever read a history book about wars in the past???  Why don’t you try to think of some actual strategies that involve the chosen national power challenging each on the other team.

    • RE: UK & US IC's

If England chooses to place an IC anywhere which I don’t recommend, the ideal places are South Africa for battling over Africa against the Axis or possibly Australia with strong US support to combat the Pacific and stop Japanese island control.  I just think UK money could be better spent building and controlling the Atlantic.

Gorgeous map, its very easy on the eyes with no “loud” colors.  How long did it take you to make the map?

    • RE: Turn 2 D-day gambit, terrible idea?

I think a bigger deterent to this for Germany and Italy is shore up France with tons of units, leave Northwestern Europe open or Denmark or whatever that is and move out of Norway.  I usually go for the destroyer and transport rather than the battleship so i can slam 3 territories pretty hard with Germany.  I just think that you should show the Allies France on turn 2 would really hurt to take and give them a few softer options, namely Norway and Algeria.
