i would recomend that if you are going after russia in G1, then forget the UK fleet and attack with all infantry, tanks and planes, believe me youll need them. if the star works then russia is done for by G2, G3 by the most. what i usually do is if im going on a russia all out assault i at least stak 1 or 2 turns of tanks and then go after the ruskies.

@B.:
Theduke,
Lets say US and UK build an IC in India and in China (the territory closest to Moscow) and just pumping out some tanks to reinforce Russia. Wouldn´t you go for these ICs first, since those reinforcements are worth more than Japan can reduce in income for Russia by a direct attack! :wink:well to start with building those complexes there by the allies is not a very smart thing to do, usually the japanesse player will terminate those facotries en 1 or 2 turns by the most and the allies would have given away 2 factories at a decent range from russia, basicly messing up the allied war effort.

usually when all the players are experienced its quite difficult to advance unless a player suffers of bad dice rolling or does a big messup. but under normal conditions expect a long game

RE: Where to put bombers?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
With Germany it’s always Germany, I don’t like to garison WEU too heavy and adding bombers makes it more of an insentive for the allies to attack early.
With Britain and America, after the German navy is gone I move my bombers to russia for flexability.
The Japanese Bombers, I keep just behind the lines with my fighters.
With Russia… Nevermind…
i basicly do the same moves the only variant is sometimes with germany i move the bomber to africa to help keep the allies at bay. eventually sending it to the north to bomb russia or to help invade karelia or eventually moscow.
with the allies i like to stack bombers in UK to pound the german industry that usually gives you an edge while harrasing the german player.

RE: US 1 Purchasesposted in Axis & Allies Classic
if you want to go with the united states know what role you want to do. first you must buy transport. buy nothing but transport first turn. second turn buy nothing but inft. then after that invade africa. third turn buy nothing but fighters. then buy a few more transports, and then buy nothing but inft, and fighters.
If you buy nothing but transports the first turn then you have wasted IPCs sitting around the second turn, as there are not enough units to transport to use all of them. Using this buy you would have wasted IPC’s sitting around not doing anything. Using DM’s method, you have the potential to do something the second round instead of having them sit around. That doesn’t mean you NEED to do anything with them, but buying mixed transports and infantry the first and second round is much more useful than buying solely one or the other. I do agree that at some point you should simply stop buying transports, but I would usually advocate buying the bombers instead of fighters unless you really need them on defense for some reason. If you are buying nothing but infantry and X, you shouldn’t need X to be defensive.
i agree with that strategy you have to mis your purchases of transports with infantry or tanks that way you can be in constant traffic to africa or wherever youre going and that keeps some pressure on the axis player if you just build up your forces then the axis player can breathe a little and focus resources on russia or somewhere else in the meanwhile

i usually but 3 trans, 2 tanks and save 2, for next turn to start landing in africa

RE: Think people part 2posted in Axis & Allies Classic
the initial plan was just an idea. alot of people do buy tanks to take out the USSR. alot of people do take out the UK fleet and alot of people do take out africa. but why not throw in some different strategy. i think doing this will mix it up a little. you can also use these transports to take out brazil. who knows invade america. if you land with a large enough fleet that is. take out america, and then you will have enough ipc to take on any country. might give it a shot.
if you do that then that means you wont put in money on the russian front and be completely beaten up by russia and the rest of the allies if they manage to get enough aircraft theyll manage to take out any german menace in the sea

Yes, I have taken Australia several times. Along with the US. I just like playing until I have total victory.
its kinda hard to take australia is they stack up all the cash in infantry and if the us moves fast enough to help them stacking fighters, i usually invade nsw at turn 3 or 4 but its kinda hard ive never actually managed to win takin australia but if the us focuses on helping there then there is no way for me to loose by Vp

i think russia is the most influential country in the game, the game is usually decided if russia falls or not. if russia falls axis wins, if they hold on then the allies win its as simple as that
