I prefer to play low luck, it will prevent this from happening.

If my opponent does a mistake like fogetting the scramble, i will point it out to him, that way the game can continue, I wanna win by better strategic and tactical play, not by silly misstakes

I agree with you on your points. One other factor is the ability of the other player. If its just bad luck? Hey, it’s going to happen. That’s why we roll the dice. For me I like the challenge of seeing if I can over come the bad start. If you play into the later rounds I find the dice always even out. Thats why its called the “law of averages” not the “theory of averages”.

I kinda thought that the posts from the games was a big part of the count total some people have.  I’ve been reading from this site since 08 or 09 so if post numbers were important I would have signed up sooner. Once I started playing 40G I signed up for the ability to get answers for the game. It’s great to see all the help everyone gives each other here. Thanks to you all for your love of this game.

Question to all.  Did cruisers get used to transport troops? I know it would be a small amount per ship if they did but I don’t know the history on the different ships and all they did and so on and so on…… An idea came for AA GC and being able to transport an inf. on a destroyer.  So how crazy would it be to make cruisers able to carry one inf. in global? I wonder if that would make uncrestable rethink cruisers?  Maybe then they would be $13? or $14?

On the Beach is a very sad depressing movie. It is not a ww2 film, but a ww3 film.

It is a good movie but everybody basically dies…

so much for a spoiler alert IL. LoL.  And its not a ww3 film its a post apocalypse film. Thats part of the message being made, with a full exchange of warheads its over. No fronts no battles. Just the reality that were all as good as dead if it starts.

Gargantua,  Are you ready to see the remake of red dawn? They finished post production in 2010!  the studio sat on the release with the hope that releasing THOR first would be a hit and create buzz about the guy who plays Thor. (He’s playing Jed E.) Then the studio had a P.R. problem with the story line of the bad guys being chinese this time so they’ve spent the end of last year doing a C.G.I. overhaul turning the chinese uniforms into North Korean. The studio feels this will give it larger appeal globally. Even if it’s bad I still have to see it.

If you take out the amazing job the actor did playing the german officer in I.B. The film would pretty much be a waste  of time. Just my opinion.

Battleships are sitting ducks without the proper # of supporting units to take the hits for it so the BB can be around long enough to get those hits you need it to roll.

I need another ruling as well.  If there are two German U-boats in SZ 106 (using Alpha 2 rules), do they cut 3 IPCs total: 1 from New Brunswick and 2 from Quebec?

We play this as a loss of 3 ipc’s and I don’t see why it wouldn’t. But it would be nice to hear a conformation from the big wigs.

Don’t you think making all the french pieces would be a waste since you really won’t get the chance to use them. It would be like classic again with the Russian cv’s and bb’s. I’d rather see the effort and money put into pieces to represent Air and Naval bases.

No.  And it certainly wouldn’t be a waste to do the Italian pieces right since they are sticking around.

It isn’t a $25 game with generic pieces, it is a $100 game.  I find it surprising that with so much other attention to detail, and the obvious interest in the European theater (since it sold out quickly) that the decision was made not to do it right the first time.  It would seem to be a logical stepping stone to expanding the game anyway.

As for air and naval bases, I don’t mind the cardboard pieces.   They aren’t mobile anyway and really are only markers for the territory, not units.

Hey, if they make 'em great! I’m just not getting my hopes up to see it happen anytime soon. Cause at $100 like you said, I think they would have already made them if they wanted to. To me, I can play with what they gave me and have a good time.
