      Yes CWO. We have coastal battleships in are 39’game. Can only move 1 sea zone (2) from naval base and has to be next to a land sea zone. Plus for d12 it’s A4 D6 M1. If it has a hit damage values still stay the same.

      The carrier already gives you 1 extra move since don’t have to take off from land.  Really, 2 moves, since you also don’t have to transition back to land…in some situations.

      Planes already move pretty dang far, 5, 6 moves gives them a lot of freedom.

      Don’t some rules already exist regarding bombing, ie, interception, and that an AB can support a scramble against an adjoining amphib invasion territory.

      @GeneralHandGrenade:

      I made a couple of videos on how to play Amerika if you’re interested. I made up some player aides as well if you’re new to the game. They are in the description box of the video and you can download them for free.

      Right!  That’s why once the US is lurking Japan its easy to buy 3-4 infantry and get your fighters back together (as well as continue to replace destroyers)…its just too easy to defend and America has to make its intentions well known by getting close to you before he is ready to attack

      that’s also why the kamikaze rule seems like heaping on because you can shred USA carriers and cruisers (luck willing) and it makes a direct combined fleet attack on SZ 6 even less desirable

      @Flashman:

      How motivated to fight for either side were Italians after 1943? I’d guess they all just wanted the war to end. They’d seen the back of Mussolini, but did they want to die for the King?

      My preference is for a general rule that all liberated former factory sites can be used to build infantry only (captured factories removed remember). This works fine for France. Some places could be used by either side (Romania, Finland?)

      What happens if northern Italy has a mix of German and Italian units; do the Germans “disarm” the Italians?

      If Italy becomes Allied does it get bonus infantry to represent returning POWs (I use something similar in 1914 after Russian revolution).

      What about Italians on leave in Tokyo?

      I always work house rules around historical marks for game play so in order to answer your questions, it works like this:

      1: Both sides had military forces loyal to their commanders, Axis Italy did not surrendered until 1945 when it fell right before USSR entered Berlin, while the bulk of it was German defenders, they used Italian forces more of a military auxiliary but they did fight. Allied Italian forces as far as I know, never fought independent from the other allies, I don’t think US and UK trusted them so as far as I know, they were incorporated into US and UK units but they did fight.

      2: You bring up a good point about Italian conquered neutral countries so for the sake of my status quo, I say it would join the allies.

      3: I never worked any kind of POW rules into the game because I am not sure how to work it but I usually have allied Italy start as a baby fresh power.

      4: The only known case of this was Japan did ask any Italian citizen who their loyalty lies and those who said the king, went to jail. While it is very unlike Italy would have any forces in Japanese territory, for the sake of balance, I would treat it no different than if it was in German territory so I’d say it remains Axis.

      @WILD:

      @Imperious:

      Well if you allow BB and CV to take 2 turns to build and pay half each turn, it makes alot of sense to buy cruisers. The 3 move is great, but not sure to give it a 4 MOVE if from a naval port.

      I’m also experimenting with many more convoy zones (UK convoy routes) mostly in the Atlantic, around Africa, and the Med. I’m hoping that giving the cruiser 3 moves (4 from nb) allows the axis to use it as a convoy raider at times because it can out run (or keep pace) with the allies ships. Adding more convoy zones is also making German subs more viable as commerce raiders.

      To Baron Munchhausen, yea escort or light carrier would probably be a better terms then support carrier. I’ve been using A0, D1, M2-3, C12-carries 1 plane.  You bring up a good point about many of these light carriers were built on cruiser hulls though. Being this is a new ship for me at a relatively low cost (12 IPCs) I think I will keep it with the standard move of 2-3 for now (to warrant the cruiser at 12 IPC as the only fast ship), but will probably take a 3-4 move light carrier for a spin at some point.

      PS: I’m really liking the 2 turn capital ship builds, and it is making ship building pretty interesting.

      I’m also thinking about limiting 2 turn capital ship builds to major ICs (exception of USA who’s minors will be majors at some point). You can drop a capital ship at one of your minor ICs, but it takes an extra turn for delivery (3 turns to build). This is basically to stop the US or Japan from building capital ships in remote places. I would allow the UK Pac, Anz, Canada etc to build capital ships at their minor ICs, but theoretically they pay for the ship, it is built in England and delivered to the minor IC over 3 turns (same concept for the other powers building at their minor ICs). I realize that you could make a point that any ship built at a minor IC should be +1 turn because most ship yards would be at in the home territory where the major IC is (looking at that too lol).

      Adding CVL to Cruiser, both at M3-4, makes a way to depict the historical US Fast Task Force fleet in PTO.
      I made a house rule for Convoy Raid. It works well with 1942.2 and AA50.

      Historically Italy should not be considered at war until the start of I1, although A-H will probably decide to attack it anyway.
