Sorry almost forgot to post about this.

Much as Andrew said, I would add that the German troops went south to Russia, allowing the British planes to hold with the Russian stack at Bryansk by turn 4. This would stop the effectiveness of the Italian can opener, however, I understand the trade-off of going south to allow Russia to hold Ukraine a turn earlier.
Taking Berlin helped, but Andrew did mitigate it as much as possible trapping the British fleet for the rest of the game in the Baltic Sea.
I have lost countless games to Andrew over the decades most of them were quick victories for him so this was one of the few.
Excellent play all around looking forward to the reverse challenge.
