    • RE: Germany Strategy concept…

      @ncscswitch:

If Russia has stacked hard on all sides of Ukraine…

Stack Eastern, then when Russia moves on Ukraine, counter HARD from Eastern, using Med Fleet for additional INF and a support shot as well as available AF.  Kill hard and fast, to keep as many of your troops alive as possible.

Instant hard point in Ukraine AFTER killing a lot of Russians.  AND you can still stack Eastern with your previous round German build just by moving it to Eastern…

Yeah, but what if they’ve already taken Ukraine and West Russia?  Should I still counterattack Ukraine, even though he’s got more than enough guys the next round to kill my stack of men and destroy 8 or 9 of my guys?  Or I should I wait a round before moving in for the kill in the Ukraine with more guys?  I once counterattacked Ukraine, took it, put pretty much all my armour and inf there on the first round, and then the next round, had them all wiped out and from there I pretty much went on the defensive because I couldn’t keep any of my territories very well because I had to rebuild my forces.

I’m just curious.  I don’t know if this was posted above, but what happens if Russia takes the Ukraine, and then you take it back, but you only have, let’s say, 6 tanks plus 4 inf to take it back, and you lose 2 inf, so you’re down to 6 tanks and 2 inf; if you have more armour than inf, is it even a good idea to try and take back the Ukraine, considering that the guy has, for example, 4 infantry and 3 art, plus a couple tanks in Moscow?  Hope I’m being clear in my questioning.  I guess I just really want to know if creating one massive hardstack in UKraine is even a good idea if Russia has taken WR with 6 inf there and then 4 inf and 3 art in the Caucasus ready to massively counterattack.

Sometimes my games have lasted 6 to 9 hours.  But when it’s in the 8 or 9th hour, some of us are just, hurry up and finish my country off already.

    • RE: A Dice Simulator

If I use this and have a battle where there are multi-country units there, do I just add in all the pieces that are there?  I would imagine so myself, but I just want to make sure I’m doing that correct.

    • RE: J1 Kwangtung IC.

well i don’t mean double on J1, but what about maybe two or three turns later add another one?  that could work, although, yes, it would take a longer time to get those troops going.

Would it be maybe be more beneficial or something ot plop down two ICs, one in the north and south, so that you can do a double pincer like move or do some doubling of units quickly?  I was thinkin one in the north and south.  But if there’s an IIC and you capture it, then there wouldn’t be a need for a FIC IC would there?

    • RE: Rule question

IN terms of putting an AC down in the baltic and being able to put fighters on it right after, am I allowed to take fighters that have already seen combat and put them on teh AC, as long as they are near the baltic?  For exapmle, if i take the fighters in France and Germany and attack the UK battleship and then land them back in Germany, and then put down the AC, can I still put those fighters on teh AC?  Because it would really suck to just put down the AC with no fighters and then ahve the UK come and blow them all to pieces.  Does everyone know what I mean?

    • RE: Rule question

I don’t think that’s even right.  Since hte UK is just “liberating” the territory from the Germans, it is now technically the Russians.  Even though they can’t build anything if their capital is taken, the territory is still theirs.

How does the Pure/Low/No luck factor in?  I haven’t played online before so I don’t know how to choose which one to use or which would be better.

Please forgive my ignorance, but how does it/where does it show/tell the final outcome of the battle?

    • RE: UK early in game

I just wnat to know how the UK can keep buying fighters every round(seems like 3 from what Axel Allie is saying) if they’re down possibly India and a few more African countries?  Even if they take Norway, that’s only 3 itself, and if Germany has taken 3 or 4 from African by round 4 and Japan already has 3 from India, that’d put UK down possibly 7.

I’ve played those types of marathon games.  They either end up draining the brain or becoming really really fun at the end.

Yet, why would Germany need 5 BBs and 3 carriers? :-o  That would be suicide to the Nth degree.  Germany would have to pretty much go on the defensive on land and retreat very slowly backward, while conserving her forces into two majorly huge stacks.

    • RE: Multi-National forces on ATTACK

Some of these discussions remind me of debates between Star Wars fans about what’s canon and what’s not.  Seems to me we’ve sorta got one of those problems on our hands.  What rule is “the” rule?  :-P

    • RE: How can I strafe?

I’m just curious.  What happens if you want to strafe a territory, and you go in with the goal of only one round of combat, but somehow you manage to destroy ALL of the other guy’s units?  Do I now HAVE to take that territory, or can i still retreat like i planned?

    • RE: Rule question

I too have another question.  Let’s say on G1, you want to take an Inf and Tank to egypt, but that darn destroyer is in the way.  And lets say I don’t want to bring along the battleship but instead bring the filled transport and three fighters, which will do the attacking.  Is that possible? aNd if so, can i still do an amph. assault afterward with my troops?  If anyone wants to know why I’m not bringing alone the BB, it’s because i want to use it to take out the UK BB instead.

    • RE: Rule Question

I too have a rule question.  Is it true that after you make your combat moves, you can’t move any of those pieces again during the non-combat move phase?  B/c I’ve always thougth that you can move them, as well as other pieces, to different territories, even if they were in combat.  If this is the case, what’s the reasoning behind it?

    • RE: Need Help from Experienced German Player

Instead of a carrier or two transports, would a destroyer work as well?  I would like to offer some protection to my baltic fleet but don’t want to spend too much money for fear of getting wacked hard by the russians and being unable to recover b/c i didn’t have enough troops on the ground.  So, any thoughts overall about buying the destroyer?
