I do not understand why so many of you dislike Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour. I have played pretty much every RTS out there, and it is the most diverse of them all, in my opinion. There are so many units, tactics, and strategies to choose from. If you have good opponents, no two games are ever the same.

Yamato- I recommend you try “Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour,” before you swear off rts’s all together. I do agree that turned based is better though.

I almost never play the same way twice. People have criticized me in the past and said I lost games due to my not using common tactics. Of course this is true, but a game isn’t very fun if you always play the same… And that’s all this is… A game. :D

I’m pretty sure that if you are playing at a Casino, with their permission to be there, you could gamble under their license. Vegas baby Vegas.

I’d like to formally introduce myself and ask all of you to do the same. I am a senior at SUU (1 semester left) where I am currently studying Spanish and Criminal Justice. After I graduate I plan on going to law school. I just took the LSAT, and I didn’t do too shabby. I have been married for 3 years and have a beautiful baby boy. I consider myself a religous conservative, but not nessesarily a Republican. I work the grave yard shift at a private high school, so if I post at wierd hours it is because I sleep in the morning, go to school in the afternoon, and work at night.
I Have lived and traveled extensively in Europe and South America, and have come to the conclusion that most people are just people. I think the world would be a much better place if everyone would just calm down and stop killing eachother… But sense that is not likely to happen, I do support American intervention from time to time. I am open minded and I like to hear other peoples ideas. I try not to treat anyone with disrepect unless they bring it on themselves by being overly hostile to myself or others. I guess you could say I hate bullies.
I chose the Nick Name “General William Sherman” because he was my favorite general in the civil war. He knew it was going to be long, and would only be won with a commitment to “total war,” and he said so… The government fired him for his predictions, then begged him to come back after they turned out to be true. He then marched to the sea, and burned Atlanta to the ground. I like it when people “tell it how it is” and then back up their words with actions.
I have been playing Axis pretty steady for the last 16 years and I thought I was pretty good at it. That is, until I saw some of the really skilled players on this site in action… But it’s like I’ve always said concerning tactics: “I would rather lose and learn, than win the same way twice.”

If we do this, I could bring at least 2 other relatively serious players with me. They are not site members, but they have been playing as long as I have.

Have you read the 2nd Amendment? We don’t have the right to bare arms to defend ourselves from bears.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
The constitution was meant as a shield. It was tell the federal government what it could not do. It ws not ment to be used to take our rights away. That is why it is so hard to ammend. Yes, it is a complicated process. Do you think you could 2/3rds of the states to pass a law disarming the populace? Yeah right.

If we only let the farmers have guns, the farmers would… Dare I say it? RULE THE WORLD!!!

RE: Ironyposted in General Discussion
Didn’t you see the Simpsons where they destroyed all the guns in the world? Aliens invaded and inslaved mankind using slingshots. We don’t want that to happen do we? LOL :P

RE: Ironyposted in General Discussion
The vast majority of hand gun related murders come from persons carrying illegal firearms. Making it illegal to carry a handgun will only take away the ability of the law abiding public to defend themselves.

THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME: CIVILZATION 3
I have loved the civilization series ever sense I played the first one at age 10. I have yet to find another strategy game that covers all the angles as well as civilization. The warfare, diplomacy, espionage, even the domestic side… It has everything an armchair dictator (not just general) could want! Has anyone else played the series? That is probably a stupid question on a site like this
As far as RTS’s go, I bought the first copy of warcraft 1 that was available where I lived. Man, that was a rush… I have sense played all of blizzards RTS’s, as well those released by Microsoft, Lucas Arts, and EA Games. I love test driving a new RTS, but after a while, I always find myself back in the Civilization games.

I voted no restrictions because I don’t think you had enough options. I think anyone should be able to have a gun in their home, but I think if you are going to carry a hand gun, or own a military style weapon, you should get a permit.
I am not talking about something very difficult. In Utah, for example, I got my license to carry a concealed weapon after an 8 hour course that cost 50 bucks.
