      Oh, one more thing. The huge Japanese battleship was called Yamato. Yamamoto was the name of Japan’s most famous admiral. Maybe the arrival of Admiral Yamamoto would indeed correspond to having an extra battleship, but I’m not sure that’s what you intended.

      Is your comments relating mostly to the G40 OOB game ? If it is I agree with you there. Granted if you make 1 territory 3 then the rest should be done on whole map. No need if you just add some historical territories that made a it a some what big event in war without throwing off balance. Like I just made Norway Sweden historic now. Sweden was huge for Germany iron/ore and no more allies blitz through Norway, Finland and to Leningrad. Didnt happen but at least now Germany can counter if they lose VC 1 point Oslo.

      Our games only last a day and Axis have to get to a certain amount of points to win and if they dont they lose because you can see it on the map mostly.

      The biggest bloodiest battle in war was the fight for the Philippines.

      I dont see a big issue with making Philippines 3 territories. I could also make it just 2 territories. VC 2 points Manilla is in the main territory to the north and no need to get all 3 territories if you have fleets on each side or within area…

      This is mostly based on my game. Japan does start with 11 transports in game. With the 3 island groups NO in game now Japan will just have to wait a turn to take Philippines. Also Japan is not going to go across all of China and Russia do to terrain where all motorized units only move 1 in all of China and all Russian territories east of NOV. They just need to go into each country so far just like real war and focus more on Islands and Island NOs. Neither the US or Japan can leave Islands in the Pacific. They will have to defend at least 2 or 3 2 island group territories. You have to go to my game in House Rules at top of thread under Global War 40 2nd Edition to see what Im doing in this Sundays game. One side will get most of the money if you dont defend or attack with navys now.  Goal is making the US spend 50 50 or 40 60 either side and Japan now has many decisions to make instead of just blitzing every where and then just sitting. NO MORE.

      I am making the Pacific a major issue now for both sides. What Im trying is something I have mentioned before. Also as you have said about in above post about just a New Pacific game. Be something to see if works in the OLD Pacific game later in time.

      It was mentioned somewhere, probably multiple places, about having the non coastal Chinese TTs give -1 Movement to all non air M2 units. Seemed like a good idea. I called it “Primitive Terrain” and have found it to work well. Also gave China a AAgun in Szechwan ( oztea’s idea in 41 mod ) and another Flying Tiger in the Philippines.

      Also made the majority of Soviet Asia primitive as well.

      I m also going with you can only spend the money in the Pacific side with no ground buys going towards India or China. Figs cost 11 icps so it would take either side 2-3 turns  just to buy a plane if it went against China or India.
      Same for Med. Place a token on top of money showing NO bonus money only goes P or Med. Just use a token with the letter P or M on it.

      In some of our home games we have used Seancb’s event card house rule (some changes) and we quite like the randomness which changes each game we use them in.

      As for Spain, if your adding it as an Axis friendly ally it definitely needs to be beefed up to stave off the coming onslaught from the US.  Or if just to give Spain time for Germany/Italy to send reinforcements.

      I like the idea of Transports as units that are A0 D0 M2 C7 units that haul ground units from one shore to another. I also like the idea of groups of transports, that’s 2 or more transports, have a single collective defense roll of 1 on a d6. The transports would be taken as casualties last but so long as there’s 2 or more, they continue to take potshots @ 1 at their tormentors.

      And here I thought I was being unique for having thought that up myself, before I read this thread. Parallel Evolution, I guess.

      Nice +1 dmg increase.
      To your game, it fit perfectly well with no bonus, only 1 dice to roll.

      I like the fact that heavy bomber get a wider range from 1 to 10.
      I don’t think heavy (high altitude bomber) were more accurate than bomber.
      Probably due to the high altitude of bombing.

      It will be as you described it.
      The US will be on a rampage in the Pac. while Russia doesn’t need much support from her Allies friends. Just UK to lock up the Med. and bomb Italy back to ancient Rome.

      Ok here is the gist of it… you want a unit that can “target” another unit for removal? This is the domain of either armor units ( tank destroyers, SPA, or even heavy artillery)

      Infantry would only have it in terms of a commando or special forces unit that goes in and takes out an installation or special tech unit. Use my rule for SPA or allow a unit like a commando unit to choose what it hits if it rolls a one.

      Forgot to mention this will be in my D12 games so the hit on a 1 will work.
      Elite Guard Inf, SS Inf, Bravo Inf or Black Shirt Inf, Veteran Inf, Commando, and a Marine, A3FR A2 D4 M1 C4 A roll of a 1 can pick target first round only. Can build 1 per turn only.

      I think 2 a turn may be to strong. I can put a token under a inf piece or stack showing how many get the special shot if you can build 2 a turn but only 1 gets the special shot.

      The look of the map needs to be really redone with a different aesthetic if you want to make it a success. It appears that the easy way out was taken by using that old map or rehashing an old map already made for another purpose.

      Yes it is IL. Play testing it with different territory values of Russian , China and Islands.
      Making Japan have to go and get and defend islands if they want any money.

      Yes forgot to mention that. Also attackers planes should get to retreat at any time.

      You could put a cap on shots at planes. I think the AA’s shottin every round may hurt the Axis the most.
      Also have to worry about the AA dicing your planes out on 1st round.

      Have a game. Using the D12. Also going to test the D12 @2 1st round then @1 rest of rounds.

      For the D6 games I try D6 AA shots at planes 1st round and then the D10’s rest of round.
