      Ya barnee the Russians only built 330 K-V2s by end of war. Ya they were bad mobility and they were considered more of a SPA.
      It had a 152 mm gun but since it wasn’t that great on movement and just sitting there the Germans Tank Destroyers could chew it up. It did make it in the Finland winter war same as the K-V1.
      KV-1 was also built in 39 ( had issues too but better than any German tank at the time ) and on the Eastern front. But the KV-1 got better as the war went on. Had good traction in sand and snow. You could give them still move 2 ( while rest of motorized units can only move 1 in winter season if you have weather in your game. Then in 43 they made more of the IS-0 series tanks.

      I do have the KV-1s on the fronts in my game on setup. Game starting in Dec of 41 the KV-1s A6 D8 M2 for d12. Build 2 a turn only for 6 icps. Helps with Russian to defend Moscow and such. Just sayin.

      OK. “Operation Lifeboat” is back on for this Sat at 8:30 am Central time.
      We will be testing a stronger Lend Lease chart for Russia and have the pieces closer to Moscow
      to represent the time frame travel from Persia - Iran to Caucasus between Russia’s turns imagining by
      transport trucks, railroad and sea transports.

      Most if not all AA games Moscow falls and I’m trying to have it where Russia can counter if Moscow doesn’t fall.
      If Germany doesn’t go Moscow then it needs to hold Stalingrad ( 2 points ) and Leningrad ( 2 points ) but with LL and right moves should be a good battle of Kursk. Germany has to hold those 2 cities with Paris and Oslo. But now Russia can hopefully take back Stalingrad or Leningrad based on if Germany has enough to hold both cities. Not easy in this game.

      Granted if Germany goes all out with a bit of help from Italy they probably will get Moscow but in games the Allies have Paris liberated on T3 when Germany does that. But with allies building IC’s on Europe and hopefully with UK help from Africa ( due to Italy sending to much can openers ) can keep the LL open in Iran so Russia may have a chance to hold Stalingrad like real war and even see the allies land in Norway to take Oslo and cost axis another victory point.

      Its like OK Moscow worth 3 points and Germany has but Paris worth 3 points allies take back that’s a push but now Germany has to defend on to many fronts. Norway, West Germany, Berlin and any kind of Russian push from Stalingrad.
      But remember You need to give Japan a chance to win game too instead of having Germany do all the work in theses games.
      Make them have to hold at least 2-3 Dutch Islands for the oil and win. For 1 victory bonus point for Japan they have to control Maylay ( Rubber ), Sumatra ( oil refinery no dam. ) and Borneo ( oil refinery no dam. ). For a second bonus point control all in last sentence plus 1 more Dutch Island. So your talking mostly Java or East Indies. Not an easy task if they lose Manilla victory point.
      Make Japan win the game at sea and not on land. Its OK to to get Calcutta worth 2 points or Sydney worth 3 ( or I’ve seen some games if they control all of China get 1 point. Thats OK because its resources ) but make them work for it and now you have more action in pacific and this doesn’t even include the 3 island Group NO’s. that are in the pacific that Japan and US with Anzac will be fighting over starting on T1.

      Anyway I’ll confirm live streaming Sat morning.

      Been using mine for 3 years now with tweaks. Spiced up the game more. Not that u want to add any to your game but options there. Brolie has 700 cards there. Maybe you could use a few in your game. Some of his or even smaller things that can happen.

      Show me any documentation that planes leaving from an airfield can now magically travel hundreds to thousands of miles further.

      This shows you based on time frame this does give you a added move bonus which is all tied into the turn and time frame.

      Yes I’ve tried to play with no bonus move from an airbase but 90% of people and in group want the extra move. Based on spaces on map and time frame of a turn.

      So what you need to do is come up with your own map or G40 map and make your own game based on your inputs that you want.

      You made your point of what you want and think but the bashing about it just needs to end. Prove to every body you can come up with a game with all your ideas and test the hell out of it. G40 has a lot of fantasy and other unrealistic stuff but 90% just want to play this game. Believe me they don’t want the changes.

      Yes wittman. There was 4 Tiger tanks that saw service on Aug 29 in SE of Leningrad. 3 broke down and all 4 had to be recovered. Then they made more changes to the Tiger designs and then later mass produced them.

      Here is another way to go. Each country also in my game can roll 2d6 for 2 National advantages to get at start of game and can use the whole game. This gives one side or country a bit of an advantage and now game changes a bit based on what u got and turn 1 will change your buys a bit. If you don’t want tech u could go this way and get a better piece and or combine them per turn based on time frame in war when each country had it and if they did.
      As far as picking a tech or weapon I don’t agree only based on the countries will always pick the best one they have. You could add to these lists and have roll for 1 start then roll for one more on turn 3 or whatever. Many options here. Or you can have 1-3 tech tree or charts and u can pick one of the 3 charts but then u have to roll for it. Here’s our NA chart.

      For me and after trying a bunch of different ways for oil seems the best outcome anyway on my game is what I have.

      Allies really had no problem getting oil. UK after 1940 when Persia area fell they got most of there oil from Venezuela. But UK did get Iran back with Russia based on both attacked together in 41 in separate territorial attacks. They didn’t like each other at the time. On my map history wise Russia controls northern half of Iran and UK southern half of Iran.

      Yes I can see oil shipment boats from refineries could be hit by axis in the Atlantic. I did test in game if a enemy sub was in a sea zone touching a territory with an oil refinery you could convoy attack it. You would lose I believe a flat rate of 3 icps from your income representing oil transport ships being sunk. Now you could play remove right away 3 icps from your income or wait and see if allies try to kill the sub before the penalty kicks in at end of your turn. Also the refinery could be SBR up to 3 damage.

      I think this type of raiding was stopped because we went to oil derricks. It got to strong in certain areas like UK and Dutch islands and depleted Japans income to much. Just more ideas here. And also there’s enough convoy boxes on map to include oil basically.
      Like G40 map the convoy boxes should be a bit further out in the Atlantic.

      My opinion is the to keep it simple and have the oil mostly more important in game for the Axis at key locations based on the oil producing chart in war. It would be great if UK didn’t destroy there oil wells in Burma when Japan started to invade. This would help Japan get another bonus point if controlled. Probably with so much fighting there they Japan didn’t have the option probably to repair them wells.
      But funny thing is they brought engineers or repair men from Japan and used the captured workers on Sumatra and Borneo to help rebuild them oil wells that UK/FEC destroyed when Japan attacked in Dec 41 and a bit later.

      Not a big fan of pentalizing a group of units whether ground, navy or planes. It can affect the game more on this scale level. I like it best in smaller version games like Barbarossa where only a small fraction are affected based on more territories in them game maps.

      OK had my say so I’ll chill out now. lol

      The funny thing is the axis would of never sold there oil based on how much they needed it. It would make more sense to have a movement penalty. But we have to some how implement it in some way to hurt a country for lack of oil and mostly its icps.
      I’m not trying to be negative here. Based on my test play with a penalty movement based on lack of oil hurts to much in game on this scale. But that’s IMO.

      What I’m going to do is setup G40 map, and place all oil derricks in game with iron, wheat, copper and rubber tokens in certain territories that I have play tested with in
      my game many times. I think for every lack of oil barrel 1 territory with ground or planes moves -1 or 1 fleet. You would roll a d6 and results would be 1-2 ground, 3-4 navy, 5-6 planes. You can pick the territory or fleet. Then use the resource tokens for cheaper builds. My opinion is this is the way it should be. Allies will have the advantage but then sea convoy raiding by axis would be huge. Problem is you won’t hurt the US to penalize them.

      Anyway you all can disreguard this idea if you want but Vodot has a good idea chart so far. I’ll just make a chart with all resources.

      Yea a D 10 or a D12 would really open it up. Would help with Bmbrs being overpowered on their SBR Air Battle as well.
