Vichy Indiaposted in House Rules
Since India had a lot of issues going on in country during war with the Indian army I was looking to get some responses on my idea. It would be like Vichy France In away.
Here’s a couple things I like
- Bombay worth 2 now and madras worth 1. Switched values out.
- Vichy India
If Calcutta falls roll for territories and ships.
1d12 dice roll for each
Territories
1-6 Vichy India
7-12 FEC
Ships touching only the coast line of India and 2 islands south.
1 - Japan gets
2-6 Scuttled
7-9 Vichy India
10-12 FEC
Pretty much same rules as France. If either side attacks Vichy India then rest go to other side. Japan can only move through Vichy India territories. Or stay. Vichy India ships only defend and cannot move and ground.
Nobody gets Vichy India income. Fec income is just adjusted on income tracker
Calcutta needs to be liberated before FEC can collect money again .Only India territories and Ceylon and Maldives island would be rolled for.

Also keep in mind If Italy goes for Cairo then the axis are leaving Gibraltar open for US landing and If Calcutta falls then japan is weak on oil money islands. So there’s a payoff and a risk. It shouldn’t be to easy for either one to fall without some axis risks in any game.

Started to setup up 43 game. But another game coming up. But there is a bunch of units on map. Different. Spread out more. Not a lot of planes and artillery. Get back to it soon.

Ok. The game ended to the conclusion of allies would probably win based on income and time.
But we have a great situation that may give the axis a win by giving Samara a victory point since it’s the new capital in game for Russia.I will post pic where Germany is in game and they have the opportunity or need to attack Stalingrad or capture Samara and hold for 31 points and probably win the game.
This is great based how there’s a ton of action by the urals after Moscow falls.
Moscow falls allies still in game. This is so cool
To see this based on no game like it.Ok. Report later today. Will post pic after Germany decides what to do and maybe redo a few different scenarios for Germany’s combat moves and out come for a win.

If your referring to G40 games not much I can help with you there. My game with my ways is different when it comes to air battles. Planes are dog fighting and attacking and defending at same time. You can retreat your planes after one round of combat for either the attacker or defender.
As far as a tank must hit a tank is not really correct based on inf and other units do die from tank shells missing enemy tanks.
I do have some pieces firsts striking units with no return shot but then you would need to offset rest of pieces in away in game as far as values and costs. IMO.You could go by my forced retreat chart in game I use for Advanced Battle of The Bulge game.
You would remove casualties in order.
Be like Inf, Mech, Artillery, Tank, Truck, fig and supply. Kinda like that.As the Captain says you need to play test it a bunch of times.

the game we had on Saturday came down to a draw based on 3 players had to leave early so we couldn’t roll out the above post for Stalingrad.
Had a new player as Germany and he came flying out of the gates with total push to Moscow even though the Allies had joint strike NA.
Then the US did a move towards the MED and into the Med against Italy’s navy based on they where sitting off coast of Gib after going for it. That hurt and Italy lost all navy and Germany had to bail them out for a few turns. But then the UK had total control in the Med to block any victory points from axis as far as Tunis (1), 7 island group (1) and no problem holding Cairo (2).
He did offer help to Calcutta but was turned down and Calcutta did fall later in game. :dizzy_face:
So with US going to Med it delayed the normal Joint strike in France with UK but the allies were able to take Paris and all ways get back by end of turn to help block a axis victory early.As in pic Oslo fell but Germany took it back but then UK US will take again on there turns.

We use AAA Guns For defense also in battles.
So if planes attacking get your normal AAA Gun shot at them.
Then on second round of combat they defend @2 in ground battles. We use the AAA Gun as a artillery piece.
If no planes attacking, then the AAA gun gets to defend @2 in the first round and beyond.Can take as a casualty. Great piece on islands.
Other option is to add more AAA Guns to setup or make them cheaper.
WE have it were theirs plenty of them on setup. You still need to move them.

Well based on history for game as usual the Rat Patrol for US did not exist. It was the UK Long Range Desert Rats. They did exist in 40.
Here we will place 2 Desert Rats vehicles in Egypt on setup. Here’s the values and rules for them. Of course maybe tweaked.
C0 A4 D2 M2.-
Cannot buy in game. Once killed there gone.

Can move into and out of the Sahara desert.

Gets a first strike shot if attacking alone or with another desert rat unit and defender is removed with out a return shot.

Gets a first strike shot attacking with other UK units and or Allie units. Defenders choice of casualty with a no return defend shot.

If they miss shot on attack the defender gets a defense shot. If defender misses desert rat, it can retreat to the desert or other territory.

They can only attack the northern territories of Africa. Morocco- Egypt.

They can travel the whole desert and come out and attack any Northern Territory. Traveling across the desert does not count as a move.

They can damage an air base. Roll a d6 for damage.
If the desert rats do a TSA on an airbase with enemy units there,
the enemy units would get a -2 on there defense rolls based on
desert rat speed. If they survive then each rat can do a 1d6 roll for
damage on air base.
So like they can pop out of desert or Egypt into Tobruk and hit
airbase if they survive and then move back into desert or another
land territory. -
Cannot control a territory.

It Says never destroyed. So the attacker gets the flak and with any damage if they capture the capital since they were very hard to destroy.

Sorry captain. These are not the 3d pieces. These are from the AA miniatures.
IF the 3d pieces don’t work out I’ll paint these UK and Place 2 in Egypt only. At least I will have a couple pieces that can go into and out of the desert. If I get to picky on looks I’ll get the GHQ SAS jeep and or Chevy 30 cwt LRDG truck. USA rat patrol is just for fantasy play or game play if somebody wants it.

Yo’s. “Operation Do Wrong “ this Saturday at 8 am central at the Generals Fortress. Game is dedicated to SS spy Duds ( do wrong ) based on we had to lay him down to rest. He was there always for every game.

Ya Argo is right on it. My game has UK Canada S Africa one economy and India 2 Nd economy with Anzac on there own. Yes I to have 3 Anzac territories worth 2 icps where in norm games Anzac can get to 20 to 30 icps and help with US fleet and also taking Java which is huge in game now with Dutch islands counting for victory points due to oil and rubber.
India also can build 2 minor factories and get good money on first turn due to grabbing Sumatra and Borneo if japan messes up T1.
Anyway I know it’s not g40 my game but you could use these ideas. Don’t see no reason why Fec can have own economy.
With Canada as Barney said younjust need to take away Uk London money and give some to Canada. Always a good spot for navy if Ger subs around London but as Argo says may not work in g40. -

I have only played g40 once and revised like 5 times. G40 for me is not it. Revised ok if you want a more simpler game than g40.
I unfortunately was introduced to 39 games when I got into AA. Sorry but not taking 20 steps back for g40. Hey great game but not for me and not gonna discuss here.
As for changing up strategies like Argo says Siredblood’s game is a good one.
I think the best way to get variety of different strategies is with getting so many points from city’s and bonus points for resources.
Ok not a fan of sea lion but in Siredblood’s game and its good then ok.
I’m saying like in g40 there’s no battle of thee Atlantic with bunch of Ger subs. You probably would need to change setup.
In my game there’s 16 Ger subs and 2 italy subs in the Atlantic. My game you need to send Tacs and DD after those subs. This could go on up to 5 turns a game. The g40 convoys also need to be further away from coast. But as mention probably to much for g40 guys and setup changes.
My game has points for city’s and bonus axis points. 1. Income 2. Mideast oil 3. Dutch Island oil and another Dutch Island oil bonus point each. Plus on setup japs take midway. Then US counters while sending down fleets to grab the 3 island group NOs for bonus cash. But the japs grab these little islands to deny some NOs turn 1 and it forces US to go to Solomon Islands New Britain Manila. If US don’t go down there then japs can bank more money. The race is on. Then they have to deny japs the bonus oil points in Dutch islands. Japs should never have to win game on land except for Calcutta. Just ideas.
