I know I’m a bit late on this one, but I about fell out of my chair when google came up with a suggested alternate search.

    • Spitfire?

So I’ve been reading all the hooplah about the Spitfire being a reused model with new paint. I can see the complaints being somewhat rational. I like things to be right too, but some folks are getting downright crazy. Its not like 1/120th scale is really that acurate to begin with anyway. I mean, its close enough for what its for. If it were something off-the wall like a lightning or some bi-plane i could see the uproar. But thats ok by me. I see a whole slew of people swearing off AAM now for this. I am just getting started in it and I forsee a glut on Ebay if these jokers are serious. Means cheep and plentiful minis for me! :-D

    • RE: Is this a good deal?

Would be easier for you to evaluate if you had the URL I guess……

    • Is this a good deal?

I dont know the value (in game terms and money-wise) of these units, but this seems like a fair price for the volume of miniatures represented.

    • RE: Play by post

My scanner at home is too small. I would have to tile it all. I’m sending it with my wife to work so she can do it there. It’ll be a couple of days.

    • RE: Resident Evil 4 Axis and Allies Miniatures

This is actually a good idea i think. I’m not a fan of RE at all, (never played any of them) but making scenarios following favorite movies or books could be a lot of fun. How about a Dirty Dozen scenario? Or maybe a Kelly’s Hero’s campaign? War of the Worlds could be revamped for the 1940s. Plenty of fun to be had.

    • RE: Making maps and rules for them

I’m still extremely new to the game (just got my first set today) but would it be feasible to have a map that is entirely city?

    • RE: Play by post

Pretty sweet. Might be the way to go for me. Just got my first starter set from the local shop. The owner told me their was only a couple of other guys that ever bought the stuff.  :|

How about a pdf of the regular maps done in grayscale but with numbered hexes. Then they could be printed out on a smaller scale (so you could just have a clipboard next to your computer). Troop movement could then be posted by hex-grid number and kept track of with simple pencil mark.

    • What scale is 15mm?

Is is 1:100 or 1:120 or am I way off? I would like to know so that i can select buildings and such. Also, does it relate to any specific model railroad gauge?

    • Has anyone tried Qualiy cast?

I was just wondering if thier miniatures were any good. Seems like 8 bucks for 24 is a good deal even if you do have to paint them. Anyone tried them?

    • New to AAM …a few questions...

I’m not new to miniatures wargaming; have had Warhammer and 40K, but I have been out of it for 5 years. I’ve read through the basic rules and it seems like a decent game with good support. It also looks like it would be a good fit for me due to painting already being done. (A 1 year old and a 3 year old tend to cramp your time to do things like that). So my main question is this, how much money am i looking at dropping for a decent pair of armies? I would like to have the ability to field a 250 point army. I know for the above mentioned games workshop I would be looking at about 300 dollars or more for just a tiny force. Is this game more bank account friendly?
Also, how long do the games run?
The AH site says 30-90 minutes, but for what size battle is that?
What size is the standard playing surface?
Is there good after market support for terrain and miniatures?
What scale is 15 mm anyway?
Are these plastic minis easy to mod and repaint?
Well, thats it for now. I know i could have spent a couple of hours researching to answer all these, but really this is better. This way other newbies can just read this post to answer all their simple questions too.
