      Path to Victory, right?

      I just added up Ghostglider, Adam514, General Disarray, Axis Dominion, 666, Peirce, and ArtofWar. FOR THE PAST 18 MONTHS ONLY
      In total they took Allies 39 times, Axis 31
      General D wants the Allies and took them 6 times and Axis only 1
      Peirce wants Axis and took them 6 times and Axis 0
      So those two offset.


      About bids for PtV, and it being the most “balanced” because of small bids chosen:

      We don’t have enough sample size, not even close, to make any conclusions about what a proper bid should be.

      Most of the games completed over the past 18 months should be thrown out of consideration because the stronger player almost always wins. I’m seeing that no matter what side is taken by who, the stronger player wins - almost always.
      The rest of the games, which are few, just don’t tell you anything about bids because there are waaaaay too many other variables.

      The 42% Axis statistic I dropped last week, and the fancy colored bar graph in the statistics section of the ELO rating sheet?

      Horribly misleading!

      How much the Axis win is largely a function of who likes to take what side. Maybe that’s what @crockett36 was looking for. Top players took Allies 39 times to 31, and, guess what, the Allies have been rolling the past 18 months.

      The fact that stronger players are winning more games is not a strong indication that PtV is “balanced” close to zero.
      I’m convinced that rather, it’s a strong indicator that PTV is big enough and complex enough that the results are not very sensitive to a bid.
      To be clearer, I doubt that we would have much different results between a -30 bid and a -8 bid. The skill of the players and the magnitude of the game overpower it.

      I don’t want any advantage from delays. Here are some things to remember.

      Italy has a bomber on Japan
      Italy has a fighter on Argentina
      Germany has a sub off Argentina
      UK has a big army on Turkey
      UK has 2 mech and 2 tanks in Mozambique, and a bomber on Kenya
      UK now has a transport in the Red Sea
      Johnston island has naval and airbase
      Egypt has all 3 facilities
      Gibraltar’s airbase is operable, with 2 damage
      USA has a heavy bomber on Belarus that bombed Berlin hard last turn, and is disrupting Russia’s NO, though the Germans have a sub to disrupt it again
      We have a situation in 113, 114, 115 with a standoff with German transporting
      USA has 2 mech, armor in Panama, and a new tactical in Eastern

      The Italians built a transport off Spain last turn

      You probably wouldn’t have missed any of these, but it’s easy to miss things on the UHD map we’re still not too experienced with
      Oh, and you could figure it out but both Italian ground are in the Gold Coast though it may appear the tank is in FWA

      Again, good luck working all that out

      Yeah I’ve never had such an incredible standoff on the German/Russian front before. So many rounds, in the middle of Berlin and Moscow. Now we both have trucks lined up to move in.

      So I was wondering, if we keep adding infantry (and trucks) to the front lines, does that mean we’ll sit there in a stalemate for many more rounds? And wow, we’re trading Leningrad back and forth at round 20.

      And so much more. Hopefully it’s not decided by a big oversight by either

      It’s Axis vs Allies! North America is the only continent that’s not being fiercely battled over, though I only have about 4% of Africa for now.
      +15 communism + war bonds is pretty well stopping me, along with Burma road chinese.

      <sigh> you are among the vast majority of players, booper, I am the weird one.

      I will fully adopt your idea to do 4 Chinese AA and leave the Japanese planes alone. I’m not sure you said this, but that kind of simulates the tigers’ effect, and we’ll just let Larry have his purple planes.

      You guys make me feel great. Yes it favors the Allies on purpose, because in team play the Allies suffer a bit from coordination between players, like all A&A games.

      Nice standard setup?! I’m flattered. I know I didn’t put in as much thought and it’s not as sophisticated as @AndrewAAGamer so I just want to say right now it’s not on that level.
      But I’m very pleased Andrew independently has similar ideas to me as to strengthening India and China since the Axis are favored in the game and therefore we can be more historical/realistic in that way.
      Always remembering that there are real limits to making A&A historical but that when you could go two different ways, why not lean historical

      We rounded up 8 players for OOB in 2025! That’s not easy!

      Now it’s a mad scramble for a partner. Remember it’s just two games if you win the first, it’s a little informal fun team tourney, so you don’t need to do a background check and check satellite and AI to find a suitable partner.

      You four need to pair off (I sound like a gym teacher)
      And we’ll RNG the first round matchups

      Shoot I’m inclined to RNG whether you get Axis or Allies, too. Prevents whining about how to do bids and such.
