And it could be tonight, depends on whether I’m in the mood and have energy and time
Pacifier is one of my other 3, yeah.
Time for my Classic tournament game to start up, but those moves are of course much easier
Have a great day, friend

Continuing is encouraged, but certainly not required
Just saying, it’s not too unusual for a game post to be rescinded by the winner if he’d like to keep playing - you’re not locked in
Your call, @Avner
@Avner you now have the right to call it any time you think you’re waiting too long, you do not have to meet bump requirements again because you already have,
But I’m sure like everyone else in the league you’ll be reasonable and give @BombsAway a sporting chance so he’s not discouraged from continuing further
Awesome! Have fun!!!

@Booper said in League General Discussion Thread:
Would you be on a set team (Axis or Allies), so could consult with your teammates on the moves? Or is the entire point to have some randomness to it?
Great question,
I had thought about this aspect,
No set team
No consulting, honor system
Purely pop in, play the turn that’s up.
It looks like we will easily have enough players to participate, so I will continue developing the idea, starting with looking into Swiss or McMahon
I would like to work on and put out an outline, then take ideas from everyone for a bit, and then after deciding what will be well accepted and enjoyed, we’ll get it started
It looks like I’ll have tomorrow off work - let’s see if we can get this tennis ball back in your court
You are UK1, @AldoRaine
Another issue is set up
Allies are further handicapped by lack of coordination.
Not that we are trying for a perfectly balanced game, it’s about the process, not the end result so much. You will not even really have a sense of “ownership” of your side, and you may play a power on the opposite side later.
It’s more like picking up the newspaper and seeing their chess situation and try to mate in 3. It’s about the fun of picking up a power in a situation that you did not create.
In a 1v1, players tend to bid between 40 and 60 IPCs to add to the board for the Allies. We’ve done this for so many years, and this is NOT 1v1!
In an attempt to make it fun, even it up, considering it’s a party game hot seat, not wanting to change the starting set up too dramatically, and various other intangible factors, I’d like to propose the following, with a short window for ideas.
Slow down the Japs, make it a little more realistic, maybe
I think we can take off
Add
And Europe handicap
Remove
Add
That’s 95 if you’re counting, but not where a player would put a 95 bid, that is for sure.
That would be an American destroyer to 101, actually.
US had about 70 in 1940, and Germany had about 50-60 U-boats.
I don’t want to go down the trail of trying to make it all realistic, but would be good for gameplay and give the totally uncoordinated Allies that unit. In the game, 5 German subs, 0 US destroyers… lol… and Flying tigers that support the Chinese army looool
I’m happy to do G1 if it helps gets things going. I will endevour to approach this game like every other, with no thought to future moves or coordination between allied powers!
That’s right, the idea is to not be ridiculous or irresponsible with the game, but not terribly serious either, of course.
Go ahead and do G1, and put a GREEN destroyer in 101 please
@simon-tressel That’s great, you got it
ENJOY the extra men!!!
You told me you are working an awful lot of hours,
Just posting to say please do not worry about this game, I would not call it for a long time (weeks, months) and I am not impatient, I have plenty of things to do.
Just really happy you wanted to play me
Since it’s been 5 hours, and I’m here, I’ll decide this one
No scramble 110,
Yes scramble 111
Who plays Germany after this will have fun with the bombers
This is the first league community shared hot-seat game, where anyone can pop in and play a turn after requesting a turn.
There will be no coordination of moves among allies.
There is a combination of added and subtracted pieces at game start totaling 95 IPC’s because no coordination is a big handicap for the allies. Also, it does not matter much whether the starting set up is perfectly fair.
The main point of this (very different) community game is for everyone to have fun. The main idea is to give players the fun of jumping into a game they have not been playing, and make a move with the scenario given.
Hot seat game is in full swing, and it is Italy’s turn.
Anyone who has not yet played in the game is welcome to move Italy.
Big brother took Normandy and France and has 4 bombers! The UK sunk 96 and made a power move to 92, with airbase.
Your East African are intact, but the UK has 2 transports in the Persian Gulf.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
Find the hot seat game, or go to the pinned hot seat thread (on top) or message me if you want to sign up for a move.
Me either. I have another one with so many different fronts going at the same time, having trouble finishing it off
Just do it when you feel like it
Hope it’s fine I need more time - have been busier than I like
Totally fine. My hands are full without it. Take care of yourself
Welcome @TSK23
Somebody show the newcomer a good time!
It’s a special relationship between UK/ANZAC and Dutch
USA can’t take control of Dutch
To be sure,
USA can land on or occupy Dutch territory in noncombat movement, just can’t take control
Thanks for alerting, Simon, I’ll make a new copy from my - safe from the community - master copy again!
