I’d like to move the Italian AA from North Italy to South Italy,
I can get it if you don’t assuming you don’t protest.
Lose carrier and destroyer

Well of course that was very sporting of you and I know I don’t have to worry about it, I’ll just appreciate the gesture and of course I’m pretty generous too
It works, I did it in local, so we can do no dice from now on. I don’t like dice with them anyway, I liked it better before.
Carriers do no damage, but planes do 2 a piece
When rolling dice, planes roll 2 dice like subs, and carriers don’t roll
It added a new dimension (or two) to the bidding process, that was great.
I was a lot more comfortable giving him a 42 bid when I knew what he was doing with it and it no longer scared me.
This is not a default league rule as you all know, so a player can always refuse. It’s putting your cards out on the table, each of you, so a downside is everyone knows what you like to bid, although you can be very unpredictable like some of us are,
But the upsides are huge, and one of those upsides is I think it is a great solution to the problem you’re describing

@gamerman01 my proposal is that the bid amount is fixed for the tournament, not the specific units that are bought with the income. I love choosing the pieces but dislike the process of deciding the exact value of the Allied starting money.
You know what, I just realized,
I think you’ll like the idea I just came up with in my first round game.
Pacifier liked it a lot.
Don’t bid just #s, bid by announcing the units you would place if you got that bid. When you’re each doing that, you know what you’d be facing, it wouldn’t just be a number and you’re wondering what they’ll do with it.
I outlined all the things (OOB, so a lot) I would place if he gave me the Allies. He responded with all the things HE would place, with a lower bid than mine. Then we kept subtracting units, and telling the other what exactly we would subtract, with the understanding that you could always change your whole bid entirely as you went down, but that you would announce that with your new bid. Of course if you win the bid there is no changing it.
I think this might be just the ticket for you, let me know
Looking for a block of time where I will have energy,
Tonight, tomorrow, maybe Saturday
1 more destroyer has to stay off Kiangsu and can’t go to 6
Well now I have to just save the battleship and all I can do is tell you that you will face revenge! 😅
Eating lunch, will check soon
Church was great

I attacked the one empty area in mongolia with a mech, but I rather have it stay put in china if I can. Move it back if you dont like this edit
Thanks for the sportsmanship,
Yeah there’s no way I would even think about denying that edit, thanks for the respect
Nice try, my fierce competitor!
After you move the Russian mech to attack Kwangsi, and fly the fighter off to somewhere else, that is when I will attack and win
But I am most intrigued by the @GeneralDisarray storyline.
If the General hasn’t gone down in the other 2 brackets and if I’m facing off in OOB, you know, I may be tempted to not try as hard… 😂
Oh, right!! Too bad we don’t get a different tank on the badge every year like we used to
You’re going for 11 straight - nice!!
OK, had to make appearance at wife’s Christmas party, here, opening file now
Thank you for the suggestions you put thought into. January is the time for league rule changes, yes.
It is intriguing to consider different “flavors of the year”, but
“No” to standard bids set.
Individual player game by game bids are preferred because of individual and unique player strategies, it changes up the game, sometimes a LOT (you mentioned stale). It would actually be more stale if the starting set up was largely dictated to everyone for a year. Guard rail not needed, inexperienced player can just look at what the successful players bid
Players can agree to almost any modification for their game, so all kinds of customization and fun is allowed, and this is true even in the playoffs. But this is game by game so that everyone can count on the standard, out of the box experience without having them altered uninvited by others
If you have some consensus with multiple other league members on a change, or depending on the nature of your change, it is certainly possible to effect a change in rules. I give the people what they want, and I don’t think your suggestions so far will be welcomed by the majority. I reconsider if some of you start to coagulate

(these 66% may be the first reasonable risk I took)
LOL I knew after looking a little at your first round game last year that you were a #1 seed’s nightmare
Thanks for the note
You are playing the right way. This game is pure joy, and I don’t mean because it’s easy
I think we are both very unconventional and that is very fun!
I was going to say I couldn’t play the rest of the day, but looking at the Japan turn it doesn’t look too involved
The last game I played, I decided to just go ahead and list out all the things I’d place with the bid, and my opponent liked the idea and did the same. With this method, you would know about a New Guinea bid before agreeing to a number

I think what’s needed most to breathe fresh new life into global (all variants) is that ever illusive overhaul of the tech development. It’s a whole dimension of the game that’s gone MIA for too long.
I tried 4 IPC tokens with @Stucifer
That was definitely interesting.
I won’t forget German long range jets for awhile
And they did cool sprites
(Delay long range air a turn, don’t be ridiculous)
