    • RE: N00b school: Pearl Heavy v. Pearl Light

Not Pearl means a easier Pacific strat for the allies. That 3 pieces are a big difference.

I like send sub, dd, 4 figs, 1 bomb. If all goes Ok, you’ll only lose dd, sub. If bad, it’s not the doom because Japan still have his capital ships

    • RE: Revisiting the Kill Japan First (KJF) Strategy

If you lose the islands, USA can put an IC at Borneo/East Indies or both and invade Asia or even Japan. Ignoring any nation is not a good idea. I’m surprised how people says ignoring Japan at Asia or USA at Pacific is the best strategy.

The islands cost 13 ipcs (from japanese ones) plus 3 ipcs (from Australia and N Zel) plus 1 ipc (from Hawai). 16 ipcs is hardly too little, and Japan will get all of these in a KGF  :-P Japan can be at 25 ipcs if they ignore the islands …

I’m planning try the Australia IC, in the future, Jen. It seems interesting. About sinking Japan’s navy, it’s not so easy. I’d rather prefer good old island hoping

And Luci, no TripleA nor Low Luck. Triple A not working on my stupid Vista laptop  :-P, and I don’t like LL. Too busy with AA: Europe game, 5 players game and that low speed leage game with Peruri anyway. Next time maybe

I’d say the 2nd. The funniest of three  :-D Deep is a camaleonic actor, can do a decent job at Scret Door of Stephen King and an excelenty comic job as Jack Sparrow (the very motor of the trilogy  :-D )

And nothing beats the pirate flag with the skull as Sparrow in 3rd movie

You commonly build IC with US+UK in Asia?

If I’m going for Pacific islands, yes. USA simply cannot take by alone if Japaneses are rampaging across Asia without opposition (40+ipcs, more income than USA)

And If I want defend India and China, I suppose that island chasing is needed too. Both things should be joint  :-D

In fact, is Japan who must attack at the begining, or UK/USA’s fleet will conquer those tasty IPCs islands at Indonesia/Philippines.

Japan must also attack the India and Sinkiang’s ICs, Siberia …  :-P

    • RE: What's the consensus on a standard bid?

You play warhammer fantasy with metrical system or with inches? With inches, the horses run 3d6 inches and infantry, 2d6 inches. With metrical system, the horses run 8d6 cm and the infantry run 5d6. It’s common in inches, say, you get a 5 for horses and a 6 for infantry (horses catched!). In cm, it’s very difficult run 28 cm with infantry and catch the horses who’s average is about 28 cm. A joke in Spain is saying horses run faster in cm because they are spanish horses, thus faster than normal inches horses.

What I am saying is: more dices mean less variation from average. Roll 1d6. The average is 3-4, but is not rare roll a 6. Roll 2d6. Now the average is 7, but it’s more difficult roll extreme results as a 12. Etc. Remember, superfortress is a NA and make you wanting a 3 for 2d6 roll.

    • RE: What's the consensus on a standard bid?

Normal rolling of dices (ADS? what? it means ADSL?  :-P ) means more possible results. It means you have to think on more variables and more strategies. It means more thinking. Also, game is designed for rolling dices, not for low luck, so some balance issues can appear.

I think normal rolling dices is way better and more flexible, giving more possible strategies.

    • RE: May Pacific be played with LHTR?

It means end of balance. Subs as in revised mean end of German naval strat at Europe (as I said) and hit heavily them at Pacific. ICs building only to the limit of ipcs for territory means one turn far for american builds (Hawaii has only 2 IPCs) and kills totally India (only 5 builds by turn?, Kill India first is a sure shoot). Revised costs and stats for units means more unbalancing (in this case, with uncertain results). You should change all deployment and IPCs values for territories for all countries and make China totally different (1 inf at Sichuan’s IC?  :-P). In fact, it would be another game if balance is wanted.

For a future AA Pacific Revised, could work, but as now, it would kill the game.

    • RE: May Pacific be played with LHTR?

Playing Europe or Pacific with LHTR is as playing AA:Classic with LHTR (that are for AA:Revised). I think is a mistake and unbalances the game. The best example is german subs toasted by airfleet in AA:Europe, thus ruining any convoy raiding strategy for Germany.

    • RE: What's the consensus on a standard bid?

And you can’t all Nor, Ukr, wru. Even cannot attack nor, wru, bel. The risk of losing the fig is still there. And you left a tasty tank for counter by trannie  :-D

Even if you win at Nor, I still can hit z1 tra with 1 sub and go for z13 BB with the other sub plus figs . Norway attack disturbs greatly r1 and still the subs can do some work

-And it kills a tasty icecream tank. I call it tancream (chinese guy voice)
      -That’s good (Homer Simpson voice)
      -But the tancream is cursed
      -That’s bad
-Tancream has a beautiful T-series design

      • …. ???

Any country is nice if we are 4 players. For 2 players, simply roll for sides, higer chooses.
