Thanks to two helpful guys, Greg and Aaron, there is now a new version of AACalc with functionality for AA50 and 1942 (or whatever, I’m way out of it.)

As for attractiveness, it’s the same as when I go to the jewelry store on Saturdays….I can look all I want, but I cannot bring any of it home with me.

I concur… a Team Game child board under the Games area might not be a bad idea.

With the amount of games currently being played in all games threads (though Tournaments will be quiet for a little over a month…) it is getting CROWDED!

And there has been growing interest in team games (2-on-2 Tournament, FFA games, etc.) and a dedicated area for players to look for such games might be a very good idea.

If activity is slow or wanes over time, we can always merge the entire thread back into the main Games area if needed.

No formal scoring.  Just a place for non-one-on-one games.

To be honest, though, I read a few of the Ender books and really only liked Ender’s Game.  Later Ender’s Shadow came out and that was pretty good.

Anyway, anyone read David Feintuch’s Midshipman’s Hope?  Great book, okay series!

But it takes two turns to arrive in WR. So first step is always Ukraine, being Belorussia an inferior choices. The final destination of the Gemran Army moving west is Moscow, passing for WR or Caucasus, depending on the situation. So it is not a different proposal from going to Ukraine, is a possible step after that move.

The problem that I see is that meanwhile Allies could invade Karelia and then EE.
Or, moving Karelia and Arcangelsk, being ready to counterattack in Moscow if it falls.
Moving German main army East implies redisposition of German Fig. further East, for being useful.

I thing that the German may efficiently focus on EE dead zoning Karelia and trading it every turn. If Allied come out in force, strafing them for at least delay their action. This should give to the Japanese all the needed time for conquering Moscow and for relieving Germany.

I know that journalists are trained to be objective, but I can recognize when one is being biased, I think. It’s easier to detect bias when it is in tension with your own, but I can also tell sometime that a reporter has a political agenda similar to mine. However, it doesn’t bother me, so I don’t notice it as much as a journalist who is pushing some contrary agenda.

But if a journalist reports a story neutrally, and you yourself are not neutral, I can see how you would see that journalist as being “against” you. It’s that “you’re either with us or against us” mindset that you see both on the right and the left.

Or think of it this way: your friend/girlfriend/wife) has had a fight with someone, and they want you to take their side. Instead, you take the middle ground, and suggest that maybe there is fault on both sides. Your friend feels betrayed because you are not backing them fully, you are pointing out their faults (the other side’s fault goes without saying, of course!), etc.

People do have a tendency to focus on their differences, rather than their common ground.

I’d have to agree with what Fr…Ender said. I am a reporter working at a small town newspaper. When I was in school - last year - we had discussions about this sort of thing a lot of the time.  Usually, if you know what sort of side/slant the medium is taking (ie: left or right) then you will have the mindset of, ‘well, this guy’s a right-wing nut job, and even though he makes a good point about X, and enlightened me on a topic, he’s still a right-wing nut job, sooooo I think I’m just going to disagree with him anyway.’  That is how some people think. They taught us to NOT think like that.  That’s how you become a cynic and life then turns blah because of our attitude.

Yeah, sopapillas (I think that’s how they are spelled) are easy and very good.  But you need to fry em to get it perfect.

It’s not. Let Germany do it. It costs the Allies less if they attack after the merger than if they try to block it because Germany’s air support makes any attempt to block a big loss for the UK. My purchase with the Baltic CV build is always 3 fighters for the UK and stack with the US fleet in sz8. If you are concerned about Germany attacking that fleet with the sz13 fleet+aircraft then you can block it with the Russian sub to save UK/US units for the attack on the German fleet if they combine.

Mm.  Excellent, that’s what I often do as well.

If Germany unites its fleet, Germany can’t stay off the coast of Western Europe for long, because additional Allied reinforcements will easily kill the German fleet.  The Germans either have to build an IC at Western Europe for immediate reinforcement (which uses a lotta IPCs, especially with added German naval/air builds), or the Germans have to go north or south.  If the Germans go south, they get Africa and prevent the Allies from dumping from E. Canada to Algeria.  But if the Germans go south, the Allies can feed infantry into Archangel, which means a really powerful defense at Russia.  If the Germans go north, the Allies get Africa as described above.

Sorry I’ve been laying low - I’ve really been enjoying my new job since becoming officially a lawyer last Thursday. I’m at a great little firm. Sadly, this means I have less time to devote to developing AACalc. I may have some time the week of July 1-8 though, we’ll see.

Right now I’m mostly into it as a way of finding old friends, since I’m still new to it. I expect that after a while I will be less keen. It is a nice way to stay in touch socially though, better than e-mail I think.

I think Facebook has more privacy control than MySpace - and it’s a lot prettier.
