      It is pretty big. I really don’t think I need the whole TB but it was on sale and I had $25 bucks in rewards certs from Best Buy so it was pretty cheap compared to even the other 1TB drives and per gig cheaper than the 500GB drives.

      I’m still kind of having trouble wrapping my head around it really. I remember my Dad bringing home those giant serving platter sized ‘floppies’ that were something like 16KB.

      I’m still a little freaked by my 30GB iPod with video.

      @dinosaur:

      With the high quality of the stuff at FMG, I don’t think the US mint would appreciate them making money.

      Okay then we will have to settle for IPC certificates.

      I’ve never done it.

      I can only see one situation when I might want to consider it.  Buy a carrier with two fighters (or use two of the starting fighters the US gets on their base) and pay one supply token to get that carrier onto the main map at the earliest moment.  I can’t see paying $2 to get anything else into the game early.  But getting $7 + $3 + $3 worth of stuff into the game quickly might be worth a look.  It could save a task force that just invaded New Georgia and took heavy losses in sea zone “I” but the ground units did OK.  Those extra two aircraft might make a big difference next turn if you need the ships to provide fire support to defend the counter attack next turn.

      I may just have to look at that.  Turn 1 US takes Guadalcanal, Malaita and Santa Isabel.  Turn 2 US invades New Georgia from sea zone “I” pulling forces from Santa Isabel and Guadalcanal and resupplies Santa Isabel with stuff from Malaita if Japan doesn’t “counter invade” heavy in Santa Isabel from Choiseul.  If somehow the US ships lost many escorts in sea zone “I”, a rapid deployed carrier in “I” or “J” might keep the US navy afloat.

      You can find reprints of the story at a reasonable price. Usually around a big anniversary the first issue gets a reprint edition and your local comic shop likely has a couple in their back issue bins.

      DC has a terrific line of reprint editions called Archive Editions for most of their books.

      They are hardbound with glossy paper. You can usually pick them up on ebay at a discount from MSRP.

      The reason that no one bothers to look for them is the cost.  The search for PT-109 cost $500,000.  I would dearly like to locate the USS Grampus, lost in the area of Blackett Strait in the Solomon Islands, but it takes money for the search ship, side-scan soner, underwater TV and ROVs, and more money to get everything to the Solomons for the search.

      Amon-SulA

      @Jermofoot:

      @Amon:

      As for communism and Jesus comparison… altough i understand by communism here you were wanted to say Socialism. Any comparison beetwen Communism and Christianity is disgusting. If we cant agree how much Christianity is good in its nature and how much it did and how much it means for the people, at least we can agree that Christianity is someething good and communism something worst the world has ever seen. Comm.left 100 million people dead, left people raped, tortured, and wanted to become the world global ideology, destroying any religion, freedom of thought and basic human rights… Communism is the shitest ideology ever seen so far in its destructing power

      I would argue that Christianity has had a much larger negative impact than Communism just by its longer existence.

      i think this statement is really dangerous since communism ˝death˝ legacy cannot even be compared with the bad things done by the christian people

      but i have to say i more-less agree with what you said in this last post of yours. But i must say something concering this issue

      if we put asside the number of victims of certain idelogies religions and movements left we come to the core…how were they created and what for?What were the goals of the founder? That is crucial.

      See in the recent War in Balkans ( Bosnian War) there were such crimes being done that it is hard to read even to read about them. The Serbian Četnik soldiers which captivated muslim women were constantly raping them and saying them that now they will be giving birth to christian children( The Serbs are Orthodox=Christian)

      this is just a note of series of brutal examples about some people which abuse, abuse is to light which perverse their own religion. This men had nothing with Christianity nor with Jesus when they were doing this horible deeds! Just as if some muslim comes to a market full of women and children and blasts everything up with bombs is everthing but not a true muslim. True adherent of muslim could never done such an act. Even if he would then ˝he stops being˝

      So the thing is that we need to look upon the core concept of the religion/ideology, even state. That is crucial. People can astray, people can fall, so terribly, but if this concept that they were ought to follow is good-and they seek to live it eventually (some) of them will change. And the concept will survive…

      But i must agree with you. Persons who follow some ideologies( especially religions-priest) deeds are far more condemned than those of ˝ordinary people˝ since in some way whatever they do they represent their community and thus from that the community ˝takes˝ some credits and critics of those actions.
      the good example is pedofilia. If a man is a pedofil its horrible. If a priest is. ITs 10 times worse. Why? Beacuse people expect (more) moral from the person which preeches about it every day. I do not say that people who are irreligious are immoral. But its a fact that people react much loudly when a prominent religious person does some bad deed, comparing to an ˝ordinary person˝

      so just to finish…the thing is we have to look at the core-what is the concept of the movement in itself…

      communism-hatred
      nacism-hatred
      fascism-hatred
      ku kux klan-hatred
      christiany-love, forgiviing, coexistence
      islam-goodness-coexistence
      judaism, budism…coexistence

      Crusades is another issue, not so simple. But one fact is simple. The muslims attacked the countries of Levant. Destroying christian sites and killing christian pilgrims. So far more than political it was a ˝religious right conflict˝ . I must say it was lot of bad deeds done by the crusaders( the destruction of town of Zadar for example-its in my country) the killings of many innocent people…but in the core concept the action of defending the holy places and the pilgrims/attacking the muslims was legitimate

      and forced conversions, Inquisition, withches burned is a tragedy of immense dimensions. As a christian and a catholic i am ashame of it. I am content that Pope John Paul II kneel and ask forgiveness for this and all other evil deeds done by christian(catholic) clergy and layman during last 2000 years. For that we thank him!

      well i tend to think that he made many mistakes.

      Germany should not go for tech on G1

      Italy either and they should buy that transport

      Japan was trying to do too many things and failed at all of them

      @Krieghund:

      @timerover51:

      2.  Same situation as above, except the UK player also sends a fighter/bomber along in the attack.  The cruiser is sunk by the first strike of the UK sub.  Does the U-boat protect the transport, even though it cannot engage the aircraft, and the aircraft cannot engage it?

      No.  Since the sub and planes can’t engage each other, the transport is defenseless.

      True enough but i don’t see why the german would choose the cruiser to take the first strike instead of it’s sub.

      Yeah, the Poles major contribution to the effort ended up being a distraction for a few days.  I think I rememeber reading that like 8 of the Polish made it out with out being captured or killed.

      @Hobbes:

      There are a few interesting differences from the map pictures:

      Japan is now surrounded by a single SZ, instead of the 2 in Revised. This allows for US bombers to attack any ships there and land on that new Russian territory adjacent to SFE and Bur. Japan has a lot of hard choices to make: to take out the 7 inf Russian stack on Buryatia (after moves on R1) or to prevent Manchuria from falling to the Russians; to take Borneo/E. Indies/Phillipines; to hit Pearl; plus Burma/HK/China Egypt is tougher to crack for G1: running a calc gives G 73% odds of conquering it, where before 2 inf 2 arm 1 bmr gave it 95% odds. The Italians seem to have 2 choices: either reinforce Egypt or try to retake it in the case of a UK counterattack, or do the same for the Ukraine. Which would open the way for a German tank rush on Caucasus…i guess that’s why there’s no German INF on Austria, otherwise they could be moved to Rom/Bulg and the G transport on the Med could be used to lift INF for that attack on the Caucasus. G has the option of making an attack on Kar on G1 using the Finnish INF and the transport, plus all of the Luftwaffe, but the AA makes it risky. It can really pay off though because it secures the Baltic countries from any Russian counterattack.

      The single seazone around Japan deters even more invading Russia and trying to achieve its historical objectives.
