I was in no way advocating any sort of US naval build in the Pacific. I simply advocate that building units you can’t move to Europe yet but will be able to down the road in the WUS puts you in position to counter any moves without a hiccup to your logistics. You are including a counter Canada Shield contingency plan in your logistics.

Where are you getting this above average activity for the sun? No one contends that it is anything other than the CO2 we are putting into the atmosphere.

But I suppose this is really something that you will look at and go “Hey wait a second maybe I should pay attention to this.” Or, “Those silly tree huggers trying to put Hard Working Americans out of work. Scaring folks with their silly theories.”

I would suggest that the Canada Shield can be prevented before the incursion of the counter cost. I would also suggest that the proper logistics would prevent the gumming up of the works. Proper being moving your US units from WUS to WCA to ECA then on to Europe and Africa. A turn one US defensive Naval build to cover your transports will put you in an effective position to counter at little cost or stop it from being tried at all.

I don’t think it is worth it. Killing a FTR is good but you need those units in the UKR, WRU, CAU more than in NOR. Besides the UK is coming over with units and can help contest NOR (if Gerry doesn’t give it up) and KAR, ARC. I think more than anything it puts Russian forces where they aren’t best used.

Not to deflate your hopes, but we could fill cannisters in space and bring them down.  The added gravity would put them under more pressure and we could release the gas.  Woolah!  No heat absorbed!  No added expense, we just fill em as part of our currently scheduled misions and let the gravity of the world pressurize them for free upon reentry.

Gee, why am I the only person on the planet that seems to figure this out?  Oh wait, I’m not, just that when people come up with rational ways to “effect” the planet’s atmosphere you say it’s unfeasible because it wont do enough or try to pick holes in the logic.

Come up with a better plan that doesn’t involve punishing only US Citizens like Kyoto.

Your hairspray alone isn’t doing it but how many people use hairspray? How many people drive? Use Natural Gas to heat their homes? Anyone using electricity from coal?

Let’s look at some non-scientific anectodal “evidence.”

Think about all the fuel of all kinds you use. Now think about all the other people you know who use that same or a similar amount of fuel.

Now think about all the people in 1850 who used that much fuel.

Do you still want to tell me HUMANS aren’t changing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere?

Ac works on the theory of conservation of energy. When you compress a gas and then decompress it you suck energy from outside to heat up that gas. This is standard Chemistry and Physics, for a college grad, I’m really amazed you don’t understand it.

Where are you going to get the energy to compress the gas? Are you going to squeeze it with your powerful muscles? ACs work on the theory that energy particularly heat wants to be somewhere else. They exchange heat. The more heat you want to exchange the more difference in temperature there must be (put simply.) ACs could not do this in a meaningful and useful manner without energy. The sources of this energy is the source of the warming. How much do you have to run your AC to drop the temperature of your home say something easy 2 degrees? Now think about that for ten thousand homes.

Get the funding to remove all the cars from the planet? Make a plan to totally re-build the entire power infrastructure of the United States? The suggestion that the US build vehicles that meet the emmissions standards of the rest of the world will make life tougher on Americans?

The point of this Green S**t is not to save the planet. It is to continue to make the planet habitable for HUMANS.

The contention is primarily that HUMANS (not Republicans, or Democrats, or Muslims, or Communists) are using fossil fuels to the point of changing the amount of heat the Earth retains from the sun. This heat is melting the polar ice and causing more heat to be retained. The ice reflects heat and the ocean tends to retain it. It was not contended that the energy from the sun is more than at any time in the past. The Earth is simply retaining more of it.

Kilamanjaro used to have snow on it. It doesn’t anymore. The number of days per year that trucks can drive on the tundra has halved in the last decade. I already mentioned the areas where the submarines can break thru the polar ice has increased (I would contend that that is a completely unbiased fact.)

The fact that I haven’t made time to look to on my own is that of over 900 scientifice articles (articles written by actual scientists) none dispute global warming as fact. Of over 600 articles in popular media more than half dispute it as fact. Who are you listening too?

Does this supposed refutation of Global Warming come from a scientific journal or the popular press? The scientists say it is real while the popular media seems to be split. I’ve seen “The Inconvienient Truth.” Don’t ignore the message because you don’t like the messenger.

I particularly enjoyed the information from the Navy who apparently keeps accurate information on the thickness of the Arctic ice for Submarine ops purposes. The steady drop off of that chart was alarming.

Battlemap is just an electronic version of the board. You still have to count out new units, remove the dead et al. Unlike the board it is easy to save any particular setup.

Subs from both sides shoot in “opening fire.” There is an “opening fire step” every round. Unless an opposing DES is present, sub hits (only can hit naval units) in opening fire don’t get to shoot back. Subs get a “free” shot every round.
