      I assume you wanted to activate brazil so I edited that for you and I changed the USA IPC’s +2 –> The IPC’s will be reflected on Italy’s turn.

      LOL! I always DOW R1 against Japan. That way if Japan brings USA into the war, American planes have somewhere to land.

      That makes sense, there are no longer any repercussions to doing so…  too bad Japan no longer gets $12 for that.

      In reality, the Japanese wanted no part of a land war with the Soviets after getting crushed on their previous attempt at “aggressive negotiations” with them.

      Posted right above yours – 4 chinese infantry and a mech for my 5 hits, yes save the bomber (I’m anticipating about 9 hits on defense, so this is going to be a short battle and I don’t need to max defend)

      I’ve seen even a 10I build result in a Sealion when the UK player went IC Egypt and South Africa mechs because he thought it was off the table. The UK player emptied the isles to Taranto. And it didn’t take a 10 transport guild G2 to do it, either.

      The AC/DD build generally keeps scrambling to a minimum on G1 so a lot of players go with it.

      Keep in mind, though, that if you’re going to DOW early with Japan, expect American units in Europe and Africa early, just a couple Americans in UK at the end of US2 is usually enough to defeat Sealion if UK has prepared for it. And if you’ve already spent 100 IPC on navy at that point and 0 on land units, while the Soviets have placed 74 IPC of land units… yuck.

      Without long rang aircraft tech, American fighters can’t reach England in one turn.  Iceland serves as a possible way-point, especially if the Allies are having difficulty regaining control of the Northest Atlantic.

      Incidentally, I think I figured out why pre-war US is allowed to venture warships into SZ 102 for “patrols”: fighters on an acft carrier there can attack Gibraltar or Morocco on Turn 4.

      Also, in the event of a successful Sealion G3(successful from the German point of view), planes on patrol in z102 and bombers from the airbase in Eastern USA can hit the German fleet in z109 and z110. This is why you always activate Eire on UK1 - If Germany wants to take away American bomber landing spots, it has to make the attack on London light by at least 2 transports, increasing London’s survivability.

      Of course, if you didn’t buy a carrier US1 and park it with planes in z102 on US2, and if you didn’t buy bombers (and park them in EUSA on US2), well… then you had better not lose London!! :lol:
