    • RE: HBG's Amerika Game ON KICKSTARTER NOW - FUNDED!

Maybe if this does well an alternative scenario with a global map and the USSR as a 4th power:

Set in the same period, but the 4 power blocks have fought each other to a standstill. Germany would have expanded to swallow eastern Europe and north Africa, and much of the middle east. Japan will have completed the occupation of China, and maybe driven through India to meet Germany in Persia. USA & what remains of the UK’s empire is merged into a single power controlled from Washington. The Soviet government has moved from threatened Moscow to the relative safety of the Urals.

The idea would be that as a result of primitive nuclear weapons and economies devastated by war, power are no longer able to manufacture and maintain advanced weapons. What you start with in terms of bombers, jest, battleships and so on is what you get - nobody has the capacity to build any more. After a few turns you will no longer be able to maintain complicated machinery, and the units will become redundant. That’s when the new cavalry and archer units come into their own…

    • RE: Why is Sierra Leone neutral?

I do mind these things, and will be posting on this soon.

Sierra Leone was an important Atlantic base for the UK, being it’s most westerly large colony in Africa.

However is does seem bizarre that warts like Rio de Oro and Portuguese Guinea are included while much larger and more important colonies have been left out.

That “helped” in no way whatsoever

I suggest you try a combination of Lemon, Melon and Pomegranate juice.

Also wonder if anyone’s made a 1984 wargame?

Rough idea of a global map, based on one of my old WWII creations:

Germany has taken over Western Europe including Britain. Spain throws in its lot with Germany in return for Morocco. Ireland is united under German rule. Russia has driven Germany back to the starting positions of 1941, but has been attacked in the far East by Japan, which has completed the conquest of China and Australia.

A remnant of the British Empire survives around the periphery of the Indian Ocean

    • RE: 1914 Map grievances

Correct the Bulgaria-Greece border (Greece did not have a border with Turkey in 1914).

Have more tts in Hungry e.g. add Banat & Transylvania so Budapest does not border Russia.

East Prussia should border Livonia; Poland should not have a coastline.

Move SZ18 border south to intersect Albania-Greece.

Extend Rome east to have an Adriatic coastline.

Place a production city in Munich.

      Albania should be neutral.

Give Lorraine-Marseille a border and move Paris to the “Burgundy” tt.

Rename tts so that only those containing an actual city are so named; otherwise give them tt names. The map is too obviously based on Diplomacy.

Just in reference to the rules posted by IL above:

A married lady must be placed in the home castle of her husband.

An opponent may use the Ninja to kidnap a female character instead of assassination. She may be held for ransom.

An army using roads can move through (but not end in) a region controlled by another player (with that player’s permission) without provoking combat.

A further import from the Dynastic rules is succession: when a Diamo is killed the owning player must make a succession roll to determine the loyalty of the heir to that clan. In most cases the new Lord will be loyal to the original faction; he simply takes over the army (and castle) commanded by his father, though he starts at the lowest level as commander. But the risk is that in a minority of cases the clan will pass to an indirect heir who will switch loyalty to another faction.

Hasn’t corrected the Polish coastline problem or the Bulgarian border mistake.

Give a crap: read a map.

    • RE: Unit Dice

      They’re basic black d6.

I would think that custom dice could be per value, that is you have so many at “1”, which just have 1 hit symbol and 5 blank sides, so many at “2” and so on, with each value dice a different colour.

Then you could roll all the dice per side simultaneously and instantly see how many hits you’ve scored.

    • RE: Unit Dice

The dice would come in 4 colours, so you could INSTANTLY pick out those you need, then roll them all together and INSTANTLY see how many hits are scored.

This should speed up the dice rolling process by approximately 75%.
