    • RE: French Resistance Campaign

      The WotC site was taken down a few months back but the maps, scenarios and revised cards are archived here in pdf

      https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Bw4yhqW2ZuoRNkFrN2VLdWRRcGM&usp=sharing

      The revised cards can also be accessed and printed here on my aam card database:

    • RE: Where Do I Start?

      Pick-up a starter pack for the rules and maps. The most expensive major nations in order of cost are; USA, Japan, Germany, UK then Italy. IMO, If you want to keep it cheap and fun buy into UK and Italy. Pick-up a couple of battleships, a few cruisers  and a bunch of destroyers and a sub or two. Its a fun game, matches are quick. You can see whats available in this database site here, http://was.tamgc.net/

    • RE: World of tank players?

      Ive been playing WoT since 2012. I like playing but certain times can be frustrating to play when teams are unballanced.
      I like playing TDs and Mediums, my favorite tanks are: Wolverine, Jackson, T34, T34-85, Comet, Centurion I. I’m an average player up to tier 8, above that I really suck so I stick to the tier 5 -8 range.

    • RE: Magnetizing Problems

      @dinosaur:

      I was thinking of doing this myself.  I was going to place a magnet under the carriers in the void space and then superglue a ferrous metal wire to the underside of the planes.  Has anyone tried this.  Is it not enough to make the planes stick?

      Ive never tried it but I think it will work. You will need those 3mm hobby magnets, not sure if they are Rare Earth or not. They do an excellent job at holding tank turrets in place so its not a stretch to think they will work in your application.

      @hkytown1:

      Keep your eyes on eBay FM.  I got one for $21 about a year ago and Variable go this for $26.  The last auction for a Warspite I saw went for $35, still about half of retail.

      Is it any good? Is it worth the investment? Just curious.

      Thanks Dave!  I host off-shore to keep the costs down to something affordable but if anything ever changes I will keep A&A.org in mind.

      Our group still plays fairly regularly here in Fredericton N.B., Mostly the land game and WaS every third week. My collection of WaS is far from complete but its good enough to play compeditively with friends. Its not advanced enough to be able to build power navies like the Condors over Dakota navy and etc but big enough for lots of variey and fun. I will likely never own a Warspite!  :-P

    • RE: Some Banzai Charge Questions

      No worries, ask as many questions as you wish. :-D

      After a consult with my friend who has a deeper understanding of the rules than myself here are your answers:

      1. If unit fails movement roll it is done with it’s phase.

      2. If unit is disrupted it is done with it’s phase.

      3. If the commander goes first and is disrupted the rest cannot banzai/angriff as disrupted commanders lose their SA. So I would send him last.

      Just a heads-up that Walmart online has some boosters from all 3 mini’s games in their online store for a great price, try searching there if anyone wants boosters.

      Now I understand. Unfortunately I have miniatures for the 15mm AAM game rather than the A&A board games, so I won’t me much good to you. Sorry!

      What exactly are you looking for, AAM, FoW or any other 15mm miniature? I have quite a bit of allied AAM pieces.

    • RE: Question About Deployment

      B would be the correct answer to the first question. You may deploy in any hex within 5 hexes of your side of the map. Another method of deployment is to have soldiers and vehicles walking/driving onto the map from your deployment edge. Typically we deploy within 3 hexes or drive/walk on the map.

      You are correct in your assumption about half hexes. You can use them for gameplay or not, its your choice. We most often use the half hexes because it enlarges your play area and give more hexes to maneuver on.

      Most of the rules are pretty straight forward for this game, its just a few that are a bit awkward. Feel free to ask as many questions as you wish and I will do my best to get them answered.

      I assume you have found my card database online to help with army builds and getting the latest revised cards. http://www.aamcardbase.com/search_AAM.aspx

      @mrblue:

      Thank you so much! But how number 3 has changd. He has to attack as well when he uses Banzai Charge?

      Yes that is correct. He must advance and attack with his troops.

      Just a quick note to let everyone know that we added the year range to the Army Builder in the Database. Now you can build armies by nataion and by year.

    • My new hobby area

      Here are a couple of pics of the new basement hobby/computer area I am having built. You might say its a man-cave for a nerd. :lol:  Its just the skeleton but you can get the idea. There will be fresh paint, shelves, lighting and etc before its finished. I will be able to roll on my chair along the desk to what ever station I have set-up.

      As the Piece de la resistance, In the center on the bumped out wall I am having a glass display case built for my 15mm mini’s and my AAM Canadian army. I will send the shelves for the case to a good friend who does 3d terrain and have him flock and create terrain on the shelves for the minis to sit on. I’m hoping it will look pretty cool.

      [EDIT] - The photo resizer doesn’t seem to be working so you will have to scroll to see the entire picture.

    • RE: Some Banzai Charge Questions

      @mrblue:

      Banzai Charge says: (same with Angriff)

      “In your assault phase, friendly non-disrupted non-Artillery Soldiers adjacent to this unit can move into an adjacent hex and attack an enemy Soldier or Vehicle in that hex. They get +1 on each attack die for that attack.”

      My first question:
      The friendly non-disrupted non-Artillery Soldiers who entered into an adjacent hex to attack an enemy soldier with Banzai Charge remains in this hex afterwards, I assume. So it means that stacking rule still valid, you cannot over-stack a hex when using Banzai Charge?

      My second question:
      When a non-disrupted non-Artillery Soldier charged with Banzai attack an enemy soldier can he move more than one hex? Or does his speed still applies (1 hex)?

      My third question:
      Commandant who has this skills can use this skill for himself, as well?

      My fourth question:
      A non-disrupted non-Artillery Soldier can be carried with a Jeep and charged with Banzai at the same time?

      My fifth question:
      Does terrain effects which restrict get in a hex or cross a hex still apply for Banzai charged soldier? I mean if he normally has to make a roll to be able to enter enemy hex or to cross a hex, he still has to succeed the roll when Banzai charged?

      Thanks so much in advance!!

      1. Correct, stacking rules still apply.

      2. The charge is limited to a speed of 1

      3. Commanders can use the ability, but they do not have to assault with the troops. Units adjacent can use the ability and then the commander can move to an adjacent hex and if any units are adjacent they can use the ability again.

      4. tricky question, but I would say No. A commanders abilities work while boarded in transport however a jeep isn’t a fighting platform and since his ability is a attack ability he cannot attack from a jeep, so thus the No. But, if he were in a half track w/ fighting platform then the answer would be Yes.

      5. Movement rolls are required in Banzi and Angriff when terrain blocks movements.

      Note -  Banzi and Angriff movements are subject to defensive fire as would normally apply to movements adjacent to an enemy soldier.

      Anything else?

    • RE: Some projects I have been working on.

      @ABWorsham:

      How do you paint your models? With brush or spray?

      100% brushed using Vellajo paints. By brushing with thin coats of paint its easy to get a smooth finish that looks like airbrushing. This was my first attempt a fading paint on the top surfaces to simulate desert suns ability to fade colors.
