RE: AAM Database released
Yes the are custom made cards to WotC’s last revision and covers the scale change. Each card is up to date and tournament ready. The cards are not stored images rather searched units stats are pulled from a spreadsheet and stats are put into a template and displayed. We just changed over the card output to a version that can be linked or embedded in posts. The change was intended to allow cards to be printed a a standard card size but didn’t work right and the routine has to be rewritten. But it should be printing properly in a day or two.
For me the dbase works awesome when making army builds. If you are playing Germany from 1940-1943 year range and wish to see all the available soldiers to include in your army, just set the criteria and it will show you the list.

RE: Miniatures….for what??
The boosters you mention are for the Axis and Allies Miniature game (AAM) and I think you posted in the correct section. The original Axis and Allies game was global in nature where AAM is based on individual battles using miniature versions of the actual equipment. The boosters are expansion packs for the game meant to add playing pieces to the game. There are 10 expansions in total and over 500 playing pieces available. Its quiet here right now but the game is actively played.
Hope that answers your question. Are you considering getting into the game or just researching?

RE: Game Mechanics, Cards, and other stuff at Rich Baker's Blog
Here’s a link to the Forumini Newsletter where WotC discusses A20 game mechanics and pilot skill. It looks pretty good.

RE: AAM Database released
Update 1
1. A year rage has been added to make selecting units for builds with year restrictions easier.
2. The unit sub-type issue has been resolved and adherers to the WotC convention.
3. We are slowly been adding the unit photos but with over 500 units and lack of good imagery its going to take a while.
4. The Forumini Generals Cards have been added and will be up for search soon.
How’s this tool working for everyone?

AAM Database released
Hi,
A bunch of us got together and created a online Axis and Allies miniatures card database. With so many cards out of print and revised it was getting confusing and tedious trying to find correct cards. So we built the database that searchable with savable and printable cards. Please feel free to use the dbase if you wish. Please bear in mind it will be evolving over time to be more than just a cards database, the vision is that it could be a full database of everything AAM.
Anyways, check it out and constructive feed back would be appreciated but most of all “enjoy”.

RE: A few maps
Here’s another map called; Russian Ridge. Its kind of patterned after the Russian Steppes maps with some geology to create good fighting terrain. The road was high level bombed and created shellholes benefiting the Infantry.

RE: Why is Foruminis so much more popular than here?
Vanilla has integration with IP blacklists, I can’t wait to have that feature.
make sure you add this also. Its just too sweet!

RE: Why is Foruminis so much more popular than here?
Up to 12 posts and still no links.
Spam comes in waves anyways. You get indexed one day and the IP’s are sold to spammers and you have 2-3 days of attacks and then it dies down for a while. However, the higher on the search list your are the more often you get indexed.

RE: Why is Foruminis so much more popular than here?
Well, the true question is, how do we get minis people back to Axis & Allies.org?
Prehaps by offering some sort of database with all of the units that might be sorted and searched in various ways with photos of the units and stat cards.
Or by offering maps and scenarios and articles and stuff like that. The usual, I guess.
Yes, you need all that stuff and more. But most of all you need enthusiasm!
And the blocking of links has got to of been a factor in your decline. Ive never belonged to a forum that restricted links before. It makes it real hard for people to share their ideas, creations and exchange information. Spam should no effect the way you run your community. Add a simple anti-spam question (like - What war do these games emulate?)to your registration and reinstate your links option. 99% of the spammers out there are robots that can be fooled easily and they rest don’t have time to spam you every day.

A few maps
Hi,
I’m not sure if a big crowd hangs out here. I’m an amateur map maker and wanted to drop off a few maps for folks to play with. If you wish to print due to its size the base hex size is 2". If you want 3" hexes the size must be increased by 50% but if its used online no need for any scale changes.Ardenne Forest

Terrain used: Winter Forest, Winter Brush, Shellholes and Hills. My maps are royalty free and may be distributed providing NO Fee is charged and they are unmodified.

RE: Miniatures newbie map questions
I saw your post sitting so long I registered to give you a few pointers on maps. Most if not all the WotC map packs are themed in some way. Originally they were 2" hexes but were changed some time ago. The map packs you mentioned are themed as follows: North Africa - 3 Desert maps and on reverse side 3 jungle maps. Eastern Front - 3 town/factory maps and on the reverse side 3 Russian steppes maps. There are two starters, the one in the cardboard box is the old one and contains 12mm mini’s and 2" hex maps. the new starter is in a blister pack and has 15mm mini’s and 3" hex maps. The maps in the new starter are mixed forest/hills/clear. The rules and revised cards are downloadable through the WotC site.
